Great video! I'm having the dealer do the install of this while they're doing the Stage III kit on the motor but it was informative to watch you walk us through it. Thanks!
First of all, I want to complete these guys on a gray video. I installed this kit without even using the instructions. The instructions were very clear and concise. The only thing I would change is the wiring behind the headlight. I could not get that huge harness to fit in the space to the left of the head light. After a “woosaa” moment I realized that by shoving the small wires into the space, then bolting in the headlight, you can lay the existing wires on top of the headlight. It fits great and you’re not having to bundle up wires and shove in a small space.
Very informative video, wasn't bad to install. Probably the most difficult step was finding the correct way to tuck wires into the fairing on my Road Glide. After my Son and set the tuning on the amp, this system kicks ass at full volume, I'm probably never going to run the system at 100 percent but you can with no distortion. Spoke with a Rockford Fosgate Rep at a seminar, he said the system can run at 100 all day. Feels like you are in an envelope of sound. If you thinking about doing this setup to your bike, do it!
That amp will power a whole 8 speaker tourpak. As it sits I have a 2019 RG Special with a 6 speaker setup. I went with hogworkz lower fairings for an additional 2 speakers. I just talked to the rockford fosgate dude and that amp will also power dual 6x9's in each lid, upper and lower fairing speakers for a total of 8. Seriously thinking about adding 2 more 6x9's to my lids.
Wouldn’t you want the rear speaker pigtail wire to pass through the saddlebag grommet, with the rear harness connection outside of the bag, for saddlebag disconnection and removal? Nicely designed system! Nice job with the wire management...always a challenge!
Its set up to be inside the bag, I don't mind it being in there and out of the weather. The grommet pops in and out easy so removing the bags isn't an issue. - Patrick
Seems to me you would have a quick disconnect on the outside of the bag for when you take your bags off I just installed mine and removing the grommet is a pain in the butt every time you want to take your bags off
Hi,, Great work and results!,, i have bought the same system but used one,, it came without saddles bag mounting screw,, the screws that fitted on grill, ring and speakers baskets,, kindly cany you please provide me the screw specs,,,
I am personally offering my 18 Road Glide Special to you guys for ANY such upcoming install videos for say a 128" build? Zippers 468 cam build. Stereo upgrade etc. No need to thank me. Just paying it forward!!! 😁😁😁😁
Is it possible that the flash didn’t take right and is making the sound of the system installed sound very high treble even though treble on the radio is down to the lowest point? Had an authorized installer do my bike and it sounds very high treble with vocals.. not worth the 3K in parts and labor I spent in my opinion. Stage 3 four speaker set up on a 21 FLHXS
What is the name of the saddlebags speaker connectors. I am trying to buy replacements for my bike, but I do not know what type of connector or trade name? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Nice video, I have a 2013 Electra Glide Ultra Classic FLHTK model......looking for a similar setup......I still have the factory radio and speakers....its time to upgrade to the latest technology...what do you recommend....I want to be able to go fully integrate my android phone and Bluetooth capabilities with the system and my SENA Bluetooth helmet intercom....thx
I have a 2021 road glide limited, installed speakers and an amp, I couldnt find the rear speakers harness to plug into the amp. Where are the rear speaker harness? I definitely need a book.
ok so just got my new bike and had the rockford system installed before it left and I have no fader control and doesn't sound all that great should I assume it wasn't flashed correctly?
Sorry but there is one flaw on the install you put the quick disconnect inside the bag instead of on the out side working on a customers bike who did their own install after watching this and now I have to fix it the quick connect needs to be on the backside so the bag can be removed
What if you have a road glide ultra with speakers in the tour pack and want to add bag speakers? Is there another pig tail for the tour pack and bag speakers? Or is there a three channel amp to power the tour pack, bag speakers and front fairing speakers?
Yes, here is a link for the Ultra kit. It has all 6 speakers and a amp. If you wanted to keep your stock speakers and add the bag speakers and amp they are available separately www.jpcycles.com/product/510-0572/rockford-fosgate-stage-3-6-speaker-amplified-audio-kit
When I put the comparable kit on my 2011 RGC the bag lid speaker grills were flimsy, as in easily dented. If you go to the showroom floor at HD theirs are very rigid and can pushed against without deflection. SO, the ones for the newer bikes: who has the RF speaker grills and what do you think of them as far as whether they are flimsy or rigid?? I now have a 2021 RGS and want the RF stuff but I am considering buying AdvanBlack speaker lids before starting. Has anyone noticed or experienced what I did with my 2011??
the install would be very the same for running the wires and bad lids. Even the amp installation would be similar. Obviously fairing removal and front speaker install would be a bit different
Hey Carlos, it only flashes the radio, not the ECU. Also, if you still have reservations, my dealer said the flash only cost like $50 so just take it to the dealership 🤷🏾♂️
@Kevin Sorenson just get your self a pair of 6.5 inch speakers figure out if your going for some bass and the lower the hz the better and the higher rms watts the better this Rockford Fosgate is for the average guy start with a sound digital amp that will point you in the right direction remember don't buy an Amp rated for more then your speakers can handle

I agree. I just finished the install and found pulling the grommet through is tough.
As far as getting my head unit flashed is it better to do the flash before the install or after?

Is the power harness already terminated?
Clean cut video nice

Do you have a video for the DSR1 install? I have the amp and speakers to install plus the DSR1.
What keeps the rain from pooling in the speakers and leaking into the bag
Is there anyway to order that T harness
ok so just got my new bike and had the rockford system installed before it left and I have no fader control and doesn't sound all that great should I assume it wasn't flashed correctly?
Or maybe the amp wasn't tuned properly...1 or the other.
Will this speaker kit work on an Indian Chieftain 2020?
how do you set up Gain and frequency
What guage is that power and ground cable?
Nice job brother👍🏻

I wonder if these bag speakers would work if installed on my road king, and any way to just bluetooth connect them to my phone to use
You would have to have some sort of receiver for the speakers to work.

@@jpcycles is there a kit bigger than this? Also do you have to get a DSP? Or DSR1

Did you end up buying the Advanblack lids ?
@@Hhhhhgggihgdd no. The new Rockford Fosgate grill kit is stronger than the previous generation. I have stock lids with RF kit and I love it
If you could show how to install on a 2019 streetglide special

Has anyone noticed their AM/FM radio not sounding as clear as before the install? Help!!!
Cost??

Wired up everything works but I’ve got no sound from the bag lid speakers. Everything is plugged in and wired correctly. Any ideas?
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the radio has to be flashed for the system
Have the Sony AVX7000, got it figured out though
Same color as my bike
Will this void the warranty of the motorcycle because of the ECU flash?
That would be up to your dealer.
Carlos Gonzalez i don’t think it flashes the ecu . Doesn’t it just flash the factory stereo ?
Most major Harley dealers are authorized RF installers . You can look an RF web site and find a dealer near you
DUH!!!
Hey Carlos, it only flashes the radio, not the ECU. Also, if you still have reservations, my dealer said the flash only cost like $50 so just take it to the dealership 🤷🏾♂️
If you like it loud avoid this it will cost you more then it should when you can buy better stuff for less money
What's the better stuff ?

@Kevin Sorenson also I have spent almost 5 grand in different sets of speakers to find what I like best but I'm an 80s rock guy so pick your own path
Don't waste your money it's not worth it get diamond audio
