She was another cracking Cygnus bud. Put my heart and soul into that one, but she was old, and needed a lot of maintenance...too much for 1 aging man.😂😂😂...that's why, she had to go.☹👎
Hi there young Barry, I have to say, from my armchair that looks like the perfect job. Scenery others are unlikely to experience. That early morning at sea freedom. The chill, warmth, spray. No aches and stresses in my armchair. I wish the the very best. Sincerely, Essex.
Evening Les. I hope your well pal? Yes, definitely the best part of the job. Love the early morning's, and you don't know what the day is going to bring you. On that particular day, a whole lot of wind and sea, and no very many prawns🌬🌬🌊🌊🦐🦐😂😂😂😂 But you can't win all the time at sea.😂😂😂😉👍 Have a good evening my friend. 🥃😉👍
Hard work is no bother to you Barry!. Amazed you ran that boat single handed. I remember saying to a friend of mine in 2001 after a trip on his big trawler in Cork that people would love to see what life onboard was like - I had a good camera at the time and said I would go out for a fishing trip and put something together - he said "sure no one would want to see that boring old fishing stuff" - 4 years later Deadliest Catch was the top show on Discovery. Its always interesting to see that way of life seeing as the human race has been at it for thousands of years. Continued success - between building and fishing them youre some operator!
Thank you Very Much Noel. VERY appreciated mate. Unfortunately, this is what it's like for fishermen/ women up and down the country, having to work these size vessels by single handed. But what other choice do they have,😔 they either can't get crew, or can't keep crew, and to sell the vessel and buy a smaller one, just isn't in the cards for some folks, and I certainly have total respect for them, in doing so! I, on the other hand, decided on the smaller vessel, I'll guess we'll see in time, if that was the right choice😬😬😬🤞🤞🤞🤞😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much for this amazing comment. Have a great week ahead. All the best Baz 😉👍
Fantastic video, I think you're very brave going out there on your own, watching you with the winch and nets, it looks so so dangerous. I'm full of respect for the bravery of fishermen, truly awesome. Loved this video, will be watching it again, amazing, all the best Barry
Thank you so much Anne. Yes unfortunately, because of Government, and official types. The hard working men and women of our fishing industry, are having to fish single handed....yet they want to have no deaths in the industry???🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂🤪🤪🤪😜😜 Anyway, starting to rant now Anne, so I best stop there!😂😂😂😂😂 I hope your safe and well chuck. Thank you for the funnies you've been sending.😁😉👌 Have a great weekend. 😁😉👍
By jove, was that Master Brunton with his hippy length golden tresses at the wheel and sorting out those langoustines'? No wonder the present Lynsey had no trouble finding the right man, thinking of which(?) maybe the new Lynsey B could do with a small cabin as your working winter now? 🙂
🤣🤣🤣 brilliant comment. Love this.🤣🤣🤣😍😁👌 Aye, that was a vlog...unfortunately the only time poor Jeff got out on the Rockhopper...and look at the conditions he had to face.🌬🌊🙈🤣🤣🤣😁👌 Na, the Lynsey B is fine without a wheelhouse. They take up far too much space on a wee boat.😁👌 Thank you so much for making me laugh and love this comment. Have a wonderful day. All the very best. Baz.😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat No, thank you for cheering up my dismal day, now I'm into my seventies I don't get out and about as much as I used to, and I was only thinking of the cabin for poor old Jeff!
@zerog5041 🤣🤣🤣 your right. The ex RAF man doesn't like the cruel weather sometimes. I bet he wishes we still had the big boat, with a lovely warm heater too.🙈🤣🤣🤣😁👌 Thank you so much for your reply. We do hope you have such a marvellous day.❤️😍😁👌
Nice to see the old boat at work, just shows what hard graft it is especially on your own. Did she stay local or head back down to Cornwall? You’re going to miss that wheelhouse 😃. Mikey Mackerel.
Evening Mikey. It's a shame that we didn't get a chance to do more filming with her. But, it is, what it is! Just the warm up for OMAHB.😁😁😁👌👌 Yeah, she went to Hartlepool Mikey. Lovely guy has her now. Hopefully she'll be well looked after.😉👍 And your right about the wheel house⛄⛄⛄⛄❄❄❄😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Have a great evening buddy 🥃😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat I was out on my mates next door neighbours boat for 5 days catching prawns n crayfish around Lewis & Harris about 15yrs ago. I don't eat seafood and was surprised at the size of the longestines . I was also very seasick for 2 days pure green but still done my job of grading the prawns and putting them into the appropriate box. I enjoyed it but fuck me I was happy to get back on dry land. I only done it to help him out because one of his regular crew was sick. There was 4 of us and the boat was 45 ft. It was great because there was a nato submarine hunting exercise with loads of ships helicopters etc and the UK sub ran aground so it was easy to find haha and Peter let them have a piece of his free advice on the radio which went down like a lead balloon with the navy.
Thank you Neil. Just thought I'd give our new followers a look at what we will achieve once we get the " Lynsey B" launched...mind you, I hope to god, it's not that choppy🌬🌬🌊🌊🌊😂😂😂😂😂 Have a great weekend champ 😉👍
That looks like hard work for a bloke on his own Bazza... I thought tree work was hard but we have it easy, will you miss the wheelhouse on the cold mornings?
Thank you Jerry. Yes it certainly was hard work. And that was only 1 tow, we usually do 3 x 4 hr tows in a day!😬😬😬 That was also one of the reasons we sold that boat. It's a two man boat, all day long.😁👍 Yup, not looking forward to next winter.🌬🌬🌬🌊🌊🌊❄❄❄⛄⛄⛄😂😂😂😂😂 Hope you have a great weekend champ. All the best. 😉👍

Hi Lew. Yeah, sometimes I wonder myself🙈 😂😂😂 The basics are, costs and crew, plus I'm getting older now, trawling is certainly a young man's game.😁👌 She was beautiful with a great history. And I'm glad to say we had 18 wonderful years with her.😁👌 I hope that answers your question bud. All the best😉👍
Hi buddy. She was our wonderful old trawler, the Rockhopper of percuel. Another, and very early of the bigger Cygnus designs. A GM32 9.9m x 2.4m x 1.55m powered by a ford mermaid mariner 136hp. Wonderful sea boat...as you saw by the vlog.😉👍

I assume your totally changing the way you will fish in the future, from nets to pots ?
Yes bud, pots and a little bit of rod and line....but!, I will be looking out for other ways to fish, sensibly for our size.😁👌
What kind of boat is that? Looks big
