    I used to work in downtown. I was waiting on the bus one day and remember a homeless guy shouted at me from across the street that I should give him my gym clothes that I was carrying. I said no. So he threw a a cup that he’d been carrying at me. Most of the homeless folks didn’t bother anyone, but some of them have emotional and psychological issues.

      I had one years ago I was going to hobby airport get on that 88 bus downtown, scream to I have a sister who shoots lightning out of her hands and she won't get terminated. Then I was slapped. I sent metro police and hpd an email they never even looked for her. They had it on camera. • @jstrom3007
    @jstrom3007 Год назад +10

    Remember folks most of these homeless like being homeless cause everything is being given. Most of these homeless have EBT cards (aka food stamps), so when they are begging for money they are getting money for their fix (drugs, alcohol, etc.). Help centers in Houston are huge with great benefits to help the homeless if they take advantage of it, but most won't. A lot of them also need to be put into mental institutions against their will before they become really destructive. I don't sympathize with them they freely are given food, clothes, a place to sleep, education, medical, and all the tools for you to get a job and go back into society. It's amazing how y'all double give them money, they beg you give, and part of your tax dollars are giving them free benefits. In helping the problem Houston needs better leadership in dealing with the problem.

When benefits are given to you repeatedly and freely that freeness becomes a drug, and you become cattle. You are free to roam but if you need food, medical, or board you go back to the help centers. Lock them up instead of setting court dates they won’t show up for, let them dry out and sweat out the drugs, and THEN try to rehabilitate with housing and job opportunities. This is such a puff piece and insult to the intelligence of people that actually live downtown. "Homelessness" is a euphemism for being a bum, a junkie alcoholic, or just plain lazy. Mixed in are some legitimate folks with mental illness, but most of these folks are not the victims of the 2008 housing crash. Why, for instance, do they have to converge downtown? Why not go to some suburb instead? The number of empty office space in downtown is staggering and the primary reason why is because no one, and I mean no one in their right mind, wants to walk a gauntlet of bum aggressively asking them for money or cigarettes' or meth....

    0:40 Go to the shelter. If you're not on drugs and alcohol get in a program. They always have room. The drug addicts don't want to get in a program! They have to stay clean. You shouldn't be even talking on tv! Waisting time. The rest of us would be back on our feet in six months. You could be at a daily pay labor temp service, instead of talking on the news.

    Why do you need to do the news right in front of someone laying on the street as things and that person isn’t going through enough and your already telling about the homeless we don’t need to see that as someone who had a homeless friend that passed I find that offensive and disrespectful on that person show some sympathy
