Hey Tom You are Welcome and I am glad that it worked for you . Its nice to get the stumps out of the way for sure and You made good time doing so . Thanks for Watching
We're preparing a garden area in a place filled with stumps from about 6 inches in diameter to 40+ inches. I figure I have to cut down at least 15 stumps plus some roots. My wife plans to do raised beds so we don't have to extract the stumps. We just have to smooth them down to ground level. I've been searching the internet for a more economical way to grind our stumps. I believe your method will work for most if not all of our stumps. Thanks much for sharing this great idea.
Hello Dale. I think this tool should work great for you. I have been using mine for about 7 years now and removed more stumps and tree root than I care to count LOL. Good luck with your garden, Thanks for Watching
You have helped me so much!!! I have .6 acre of a double lot to clear, it is full of little saplings. The land is hilly so a commercial rental won't work. You cannot imagine how much this will help!!!
Love it, I am glad I am not the only person who thinks that's a good idea! LOL I did this with a somewhat bigger Troy Bilt and it ate stumps in no time at all.
Hello and You Are Welcome , Tree roots and stumps can be a problem and this little tool has saved me a lot of time and money . Welcome to Our Channel and Thanks for Watching
Hello and you are welcome . I have removed a lot of stumps and saved myself a lot of time and money with this little machine I hope the video helps and Thanks for Watching
Great video. We share an imaginative solution to problems. Before I found your video I made one of these for myself from a scrapped edger. I used a 10" carbide blade with a wobble plate like use to be used on table saws for cutting dados. Pretty nice idea. 😁😎
Hello and Welcome , I bet the 10 inch blade can grind the material up pretty quick . I like being able to transport this tool around easily and take out anything that slows down the Lawnmower . You know We Both have saved a lot of money with this Tool Hack 👍 . Thanks for Watching
Geez, wish I had one of those. I have a small stump that I need gone. Someone was suppose to come and grind it for me but never showed. I am an old lady but I'm sure I could handle that machine. :)
Thank you, the carbide blades will work on any machine that has a 5/8 arbor and hold up very well making ground contact with the soil. I hope you find one that works for you. Thanks for Watching
Awesome adaption! I was going to scratch build something but I may opt for this. One quick question, how is the main drive spindle holding up? With the side to side movement has is loosened up or developed end play. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
Hello Fred and Thank You. The bearings are holding up with almost no play in them and this edger is belt driven and I haven't replaced the belt yet after about 60 or so stumps and the carbide blades last a long time as well. This has saved the price of the edger verses rental fees several times over. I hope this helps and Thanks for Watching
I used a single carbide tip blade on my 3hp gas edger and just sliced through the roots at each end and removed the exposed center section. The tree had already been cut down, so no worries about killing the tree. The method I used was similar, but way faster, especially on lengthy exposed roots. A word of caution regarding living trees...think of the roots as arteries. You can pretty safely chop out small ones, but risk killing the tree by severing a large one. Also, removing as much dirt where you are going to slice helps with blade life. ;-)
I tried my grinder yesterday and it worked quite well. Question: Do you have trouble with the blades slipping easily? I was wondering if there's a way to cause less slippage.
Good Evening , Yes the washer should have a 5/8 hole in the center the outer part of the washer should be 3/4 to 7/8 inch it will work if there is a little play . I hope this helps and Thanks for Watching
Hello , That may work if the little troy bilt has enough power . Its nice to set in the chair and watch the LAWN MOWER grabber disappear I was glad to see it go LOL . Thanks for Watching
Good Evening. Sorry it took so long to respond to your comment, but I just found it. The little stump grinder does a good job and has saved us a lot of time and money. Thanks for Watching.
@@mypups7626 Hello , 😎 I should have had my glasses on just in case and more over set a better example for all of you Watching , but the guard on the little grinder does a good job of keeping the dust to the ground . Thanks for Watching

Good Evening . I bet with a few more cc's it will chew them up and these things really don't use much fuel to do the job . Thanks for Watching .
Mine was a 4 horse and I never revved the engine, it seemed like it was fine at high idle and didn't bog at all.
@@GuysPlayingWithTools Wow you can dig a hole in the ground with 4 hp LOL
Yeah... big is goo.
I don't have an edger like yours, so I bought a Root Hog and put it at the end of my edger. That thing is awesome.
Good morning. It is great to find a work around solution for tools you have already.
Thanks for Watching
Wow
Thank you 🙏🏽
You just made my day. I have an oak tree that messed up my fence with its roots and also cypress stumps from my neighbor’s trees

I tried my grinder yesterday and it worked quite well. Question: Do you have trouble with the blades slipping easily? I was wondering if there's a way to cause less slippage.
Hi Dale, I placed a washer in-between the blades and this holds the blades in place and makes the cutting space a little wider as well.
Wonder if you can do this with a weed eater 😬
The washer between the 2 blades is there a size that fits perfectly or just get one that fits even it it has some play?
Good Evening , Yes the washer should have a 5/8 hole in the center the outer part of the washer should be 3/4 to 7/8 inch it will work if there is a little play . I hope this helps and Thanks for Watching
Try it with a round chain saw blade for angel grinders

I think you need to change the blades , those 2 are dull. Throwing real fine dust rather than chips.
