One of my players wanted to take a level in warlock and serve asmodeus bc she used him in a previous campaign. Little did she know he was written into this book :) they’re just getting to cassalanter villa now and this helped so much for my prep! I already knew a bunch about them but something about hearing another person recap it for you makes it better
Big use of invisibility, pass without trace, infiltration and familiars. ALWAYS know the battlefield you will be fighting on. Or lure them away to your prepared battlefield. Never fight Strahd in his castle.
I am really enjoying the series of videos. I've been playing D&D with a group for about a year as a PC. As our current campaign winds down, I have asked the group if I could give DMing a try for the next. They said yes and I'm planning on doing this adventure. One thing that's been on my mind is I watch these videos and read the book is that I expect my players to want to fight a lot. However this is not a good idea in waterdeep due to the legal situation. I'm going to keep researching and rewatch your videos but I was wondering if there are any hints on how to keep the PCs from getting in trouble. I don't want them to murder anyone and then have to go to jail and ruin the whole campaign.
id say the trick to keeping them out of trouble is either the factions helping them out, or just letting them get into trouble and playing it out and learning their lesson!

I love the potential of integrating this location / story in a different campaign.
Big location with a nice twist

And friendly reminder, still waiting on the death house guide :). Maybe even the house of Lament from Van Ricten’s guide :)?
