I don’t see it being disrespectful for a couple different reasons. 1) The bulls have played in green and black and also green and red with hits of black jerseys in the past on special game day occasions so not too far fetched to use those colors 2) Jason Tatum along with Kemba Walker are two of Jordan brands biggest athletes so perhaps they were thinking it makes sense to release retros in their team’s colors.
It’s funny how the general sneaker community love these but all the sneaker youtubers are hating on these. If these said off-white in them they’d love them. This a clean sneaker don’t let someone who owns basically every shoe in existence stop you from owning these. I own these and they’re 🔥

if want your shoes to look new dont wear them! what he means is people trip on the toe crease and the soft tumbled leather helps with the toe crease and makes it conform to your feet so if you actually wear them and they will look the same out of the box longer. "hypebeast" is a general term for people who use the shoes as trophies to wear once and keep and or resell to make money so the shoes have to look not worn aka clean i dont think he is dissing just using the parlance of todays culture/industry.

Great thoughts on this pair. I have wanted this color ware for so long, I’m a Mid 90’s Bulls fan and MJ fan but green is my favorite color so these are a must have for me. I was turned off when I first saw the tumbled in person but like you I’m old school and I love wearing mine and this will help with the wear.

A ton of people are getting this wrong: the green portions are PEBBLED. The pebbling in those specific areas (heel, wings, & toe box) is what most people don’t like. The TUMBLED portions are in black. Well, technically, the PEBBLED areas are also TUMBLED, but not visa versa (the black tumbled parts aren’t pebbled). Easy to get pebbled and tumbled confused as pebbling is a specific type of grain structure (sometimes natural and sometimes artificial via stamping); where as tumbling is a treatment that involves smooth stones literally tumbling against the leather in a cylinder to soften the material.

It’s not tumbled leather, it’s a terrible thin piece of genuine leather stuck to some foam which has a plastic impression put on top to give the appearance of quality. Jordan brand have the worst materials and consistency in manufacturing. Just look at most retro’s toeboxes.

FYI: tumbling the leather to artificially soften it doesn't mean the leather becomes higher quality. Tumbling is generally done to soften up cheap leather.
The matte finish on the the black leather looks bad , I’ve seen how they look used , and in good condition and the matte finish just doesn’t hold up or have that “clean” look to it. Just me.

As a bulls fan/Jordan fan and a Chicago native. I think i speak for most when I say that MJ's/Bulls rivalries were much more intense with the Pistons, and Knicks. Sure the Celtics beat Jordan early on in his career. But that didn't last. And eventually the Bulls moved past the Pistons and didn't look back. But the Knicks were always a pain in the ass. And the games were always physical. I'd have to say that an Air Jordan 1 hi in a orange and blue "knicks" colorway would bother me a little. And I definitely wouldn't rock a pair. Jacques probably has stronger feelings for the Celtics because he is a MJ/Bulls fan as well as a Lakers fan.
so 3 things made this a no for me, 1, the red nike logo should be green, cut it out. 2, The wings logo being a patch? if i cut it off will the normal wings logo be there? 3, I'm used to my ones having a slightly shinier finish, the dull black makes these super dull.

I like the shoes. I never understood all the criticism of the Pine Green. People didn’t like the stitched on wings logo or the leather tab on the tongue. I’d rather have leather than nylon. I always think it’s funny when people complain about creasing. So don’t wear your shoes or get some crease guards..🤷♂️. Also on the colorway, doesn’t MJ have a say in production? I would assume yes (and I might be wrong), so I’d assume he’s good with it.
I personally don't like the Pine green High tops, to much black. Pine green mid tops have more white in them.
FYI: tumbling the leather to artificially soften it doesn't mean the leather becomes higher quality. Tumbling is generally done to soften up cheap leather.
I think the green colorway is actually more of a burn on Larry bird and the 60 point game
The leather on the Travis Scott 1s is miles better than on the Pine Greens ... cant compare it

The matte finish on the the black leather looks bad , I’ve seen how they look used , and in good condition and the matte finish just doesn’t hold up or have that “clean” look to it. Just me.

As a bulls fan/Jordan fan and a Chicago native. I think i speak for most when I say that MJ's/Bulls rivalries were much more intense with the Pistons, and Knicks. Sure the Celtics beat Jordan early on in his career. But that didn't last. And eventually the Bulls moved past the Pistons and didn't look back. But the Knicks were always a pain in the ass. And the games were always physical. I'd have to say that an Air Jordan 1 hi in a orange and blue "knicks" colorway would bother me a little. And I definitely wouldn't rock a pair. Jacques probably has stronger feelings for the Celtics because he is a MJ/Bulls fan as well as a Lakers fan.

so 3 things made this a no for me, 1, the red nike logo should be green, cut it out. 2, The wings logo being a patch? if i cut it off will the normal wings logo be there? 3, I'm used to my ones having a slightly shinier finish, the dull black makes these super dull.

I think you're reaching with the Disrespect... considering like 7 or 8 year ago JB had the Honorable Rivals AJ1 Collection where I believe they release a Dominique Wilkins inspired colorway amongst others. Plus if you you plus the red laces in it could be perceived as Bulls over Celtics
