+Furkan Turfanda And that's what hot Fords have always been about. Clarkson said the same kind of thing in his review of the previous Focus ST, and I've seen god-only-knows how many videos of fast Fords of varying vintages being flung about like a hooligan. Because that's what you do. If I won the lottery, I would buy one of these and just spend my days doing what he said, and have a whale of a time doing it.
+MightySplatts Its all lies.... PERIOD! Don't take my word for it Google "ford focus transmission" and become enlightened. The FOCUS /Fiesta powertrain is CRAP! Don't take my word for it Google "ford focus transmission" and become enlightened.
I like Carfection. Proper car reviews with none of that stupid nonsense from Top Gear which I hate, with their pathetic staged pranks and oh-so-funny stunts. Very little decent content on shows like that, whereas Carfection is pure decent car reviews, great stuff.
Mustang- best drivers car in production Fiesta ST- best handling car in production Focus RS- best hatchback in production Ford GT- soon to be best Supercar in production
Personally, I put my money down on a Mustang. I used to own a Mk1 Focus RS and I'm a huge fan of RS Fords. As a car, noone will be disappointed by this. But there's something about that daft, brash, blunderbuss of a V8 that just crawls into your heart and there's no way you're not having it. The child in you won't hear of it.
Got mine ordered in April, and just waiting on delivery at the dealership. I was shopping for a new STI, but the reviews have been phenomenal on the RS. Good thing is they're not big in the US, so it's quite original over here.
+Carfection I drove the Focus RS and to be precise, I felt it to be slower than even a VW Golf R DSG, sure it was loads of fun, but somehow it was hanging with corners a bit more to make us feel the systems work, by that time the Golf R,A45,RS3,even WRX STi would have completed taking that corner, I am not saying RS is bad, but true to Ford Focus RS MK I and MK II tradition, the MK III too felt like lot of HP but less speed in real life, I think a track battle is inevitable between Focus RS and Golf R DSG,cuz I still think the Golf R will be as fast as the RS if not faster, and the Type R in a dry day is almost 100% faster than Focus RS from my experience, I think Ford will do an RS500 with under 1450 kg kerb weight(current RS is 1599kg) and probably that one will be fast, the Focus RS as of now is definitely not as fast as its specs suggest.
Zoo Thief Yup, Focus RS dosent translate all its power into speed but more into driving involvement and fun while Golf,WRX,M 235i,etc translates all those rated hp into more speed than fun, preference varies from person to person, I love the RS but I felt it could have been better
Always liked this guy.. but the "when you beat them at the lights and then execute a perfect drift round a round-a-bout while giving them the finger" seals it.. new fav car journalist xD
Who cares what beats what by 0.2 seconds or whatever...you should get a drivers car for how it makes YOU feel as a driver and what you're comfortable with. Different cars suit different people and that also shows in the performance a person can extract from a car...only kids compare by book figures.
+kagolko It's Bullshit!!! I own a Focus 2015 Titanium (all the bells and whistles) they are the single biggest POS on the road... Don't take my word for it Google "ford focus transmission" and become enlightened.
+ACollection OfTrees I had a 13 Focus ST, best car ive ever owned. Why would you buy the titanium over the ST, you cant drive manual can you? Their is a fix to those transmissions I heard, its a electrical ground problem causing the solenoids to malfunction.
They would sell a lot more if it also came with a good automatic. If they sell more would that be a good thing? I dunno, but maybe there would be more aftermarket availability.
+UnitedGamerV Ford is a corporation that wants to make money. If it was feasible to stick in an automatic, they would. But the Ford Performance Project Lead had other ideas.
+Leopard95 The ford FOCUS/FIESTA power-train / gearbox is the single worst of ANY car company.... I own a FOCUS 2015 "Titanium" the transmission Manual/ Auto are POS. I had the manual put in after two full replacements in under a year!!! Don't take my word for it Google "ford focus transmission" and become enlightened.
We are FINALLY! getting the Focus RS, here in the States, this summer. Now, if Chevrolet would get on their game and do a hot version of the new Curze Hatch...please....
Hope these sell like mad so I actually have a chance of owning one one day in the used market Just imagine what the aftermarket is going to do with this! An AWD that already comes with a turbo.. An ECU tune will give you another 40hp pretty easily
Brilliantly presented video! my favorite part "when u beat them at the lights and then execute a perfect drift around the round about giving them the finger!" LooooooooL ... something about fast Fords that always appeal to me as the underdog to the establishment i.e. Benz, BMW, Audi 00I00 ;)
Ford definitely seems to be back up there with this one and having been there in the past, it's really good to see. You've forgotten the M135i though, and that's a shame because for fun it's probably the best hyper hatch out there. Not everything about a performance car is a statistic. So the challenge is to see if you can get all the hyper-hatches together for a shoot out. You know, beat Evo at their own game!
Considering the 5-15k markup US dealers have been giving this car, I couldn't imagine the cost of this car fully loaded. He compares it to the Mustang saying that the RS is a better drivers car, but the Mustang can be had near 7k under MSRP for a fully loaded premium (I got my '16 at 36k when MSRP was 42.x). The RS can have best drivers car, but I am happy with the Mustang's "bang for the buck" and much superior moddability.
Sync 3 is out now in the US and it's being rolled out on some Ford models in the UK this summer. Hold out until next year to grab an RS and you'll get a cracking infotainment system too!
hi! really apreciate your videos, i can see cars that aren't availiable in my country! i need your help, wich video is that with the two old rs focus there? thanks!
Forget about Hot Hatches, it seems in general to be one of the best cars, especially as value for money goes. Obviously it won't hold much against the top of the line brands but yeah, it is a realistic dream for a regular chap.
My current new car choices are 16' Mustang gt, 16' Focus rs (if there is not a huge waiting list), or wait another year to to save more money and buy an m2? Any suggestions?
Can't wait to get mine, ordered in traditional white. People mock because it's a Ford but who cares, I've got 2 911's and this will be much more fun! Mugs
I love his description about what to do to people who pass on it just because it's a Ford. Beat them at the light and give them the finger while drifting around a roundabout? I would absolutely love to do that to Audi, VW, & especially MB owners who think their cars are better & more special, because they spent more money on them.
Love the fact the Ford Performance is going the opposite way of BMW M and AMG by making car for enthusiasts! No automatic option! Fully off traction control option! That's what enthusiasts want! And a car that helps you drift? Sign me the fuck up
I like this video. You had some pretty funny parts. BUT, I'm waiting for a real review to see exactly what she'll do. Also, you'll have to shoot a head to head video including all of it's competition. That will be a GREAT video. A HOT HATCH WAR!!!!
Nothing wrong with the stock exhaust though and probably mountune is worth looking at especially with the RS Edition. Also as a bonus, the twin pipes look excellent and polish up well. At the end of the day it is for each individual owner to choose.
I live in southern California and am thinking about trading in my 2007 mustang GT for a new focus ST because I am looking for a car that is a bit more practical, but still fun. Can a focus ST still be as fun as a mustang even though I am driving city streets (and not back roads) almost exclusively?
I dont know which one to get the ford focus rs or the honda civic type r. Im from spain so the civic cost 35.000-36000, but the ford cost me 45.000. What do you recommend me, is the ford worth the extra 10000?
+ulquiorra cifer Depends of the climate of your region, rain, snow, etc..... to justify the AWD over the FWD. I´m from spain too. I, personally, hate the Type R overall design, but it is very fast and agile. I prefer the RS, because you can use the power everywhere, everytime. Without worrying about road and climate conditions. But yes, it´s hard to justify 10.000 euro difference on a car that doesn´t look faster than the other.
Complaints; Dark interior. Apparently dark=sporty to the design team since if you get a Focus SE with the black interior it'll have a pale gray headliner and if that's not enough you can get the pale greige gut ("Medium Light Stone" in Dearbornspeak). Oh, and no MFT in those...
Please do compare this to the civic type r in DRY condition and with a skilled driver on a track that requires power, as well as downforce. really like to see whos the quickest
I dont think the focus rs is trying to compete with an audi or amg in Europe, is competing against the track focused Renault and Seat hatchbacks. In the USA I guess you could cross shop a focus with the cars you listed since renault and seat dont sell cars there but I really doubt too many are going to cross shop an audi rs or AMG with a ford focus.
The guy makes the Ford RS AWD system sound so advanced but when you look underneath it's got some really weak drive shafts. The rear diff is clever but it's not as advanced as one in the Evo or GTR. Because those have true center and rear differentials and RS has only a smart rear diff. Evos with less HP will beat the RS on a time attack and anything else but a straight line at stock. But who runs an Evo stock.
"execute a perfect drift on the roundabout while giving them the finger, and you'll have the last laugh"
-best car review statement ever
+Furkan Turfanda That was pleasantly unexpected.
+Furkan Turfanda And that's what hot Fords have always been about. Round abouts have invaded the usa... I want to do this
A lot of want for this car.
You can probably afford 5 of them.
+Mumbo Jumbo heh memes
+Mumbo Jumbo
Such want, much wow.
A legend of a car, with drift mode input from another legend, Ken Block RIP.
This guy is a good presenter. kept me here till the end. Great video :)

+ACollection OfTrees that transmission is an automatic - which is terrible had a 2012 lease, this RS DOES NOT have that transmission in any form.
Still love this car after all these years☺️🙏🏽Still a legend.
Ford, do you want me to buy your car? Cuz this is how you make me buy your car!
custom exhaust for this?
+Shehryar Ahmed It'd be fun, but honestly I'm thrilled about the sound the stock exhaust gives.
***** I'd prefer something louder, probably would be able to decide
great video! I have one one of these and it is an incredible car. Just enormous fun.
I like Carfection. Proper car reviews with none of that stupid nonsense from Top Gear which I hate, with their pathetic staged pranks and oh-so-funny stunts. Very little decent content on shows like that, whereas Carfection is pure decent car reviews, great stuff.

the American way.
Got mine ordered in April, and just waiting on delivery at the dealership. I was shopping for a new STI, but the reviews have been phenomenal on the RS. Good thing is they're not big in the US, so it's quite original over here.
Ben Long, lucky you!
I'd have this over a Mustang, but I still like Mustang's! :)
Throttle Jr agreed
is it just me or does he strangely sound like Richard Hammond from top gear!
Starting to wonder if the term 'Hot Hatch' is undermining just what a monster cars such as these are..
+Carfection The magic of a great sorcerer!
+Carfection
I drove the Focus RS and to be precise, I felt it to be slower than even a VW Golf R DSG, sure it was loads of fun, but somehow it was hanging with corners a bit more to make us feel the systems work, by that time the Golf R,A45,RS3,even WRX STi would have completed taking that corner,

+Zoo Thief 😂

Yup, Focus RS dosent translate all its power into speed but more into driving involvement and fun while Golf,WRX,M 235i,etc translates all those rated hp into more speed than fun,
preference varies from person to person,
I love the RS but I felt it could have been better
That matt grey one in the background looks so cool. Hot hatches are just incredible these days. Why would anyone buy anything else?
Always liked this guy.. but the "when you beat them at the lights and then execute a perfect drift round a round-a-bout while giving them the finger" seals it.. new fav car journalist xD
And the RS will keep its value too. I love this thing.
LOVE! I owned a US first gen ZX3 for ten years and modified that and had lots of fun, this would be a great car to take that ones place
Who cares what beats what by 0.2 seconds or whatever...you should get a drivers car for how it makes YOU feel as a driver and what you're comfortable with. PazAudi what is your problem?
Man Ford killed it!
+kagolko It's Bullshit!!! I own a Focus 2015 Titanium (all the bells and whistles) they are the single biggest POS on the road... Don't take my word for it Google "ford focus transmission" and become enlightened.
+ACollection OfTrees You also bought the automatic, homey, that transmission is plagued, don't blame the rest of the car.
Right.
+ACollection OfTrees I had a 13 Focus ST, best car ive ever owned. Why would you buy the titanium over the ST, you cant drive manual can you? Their is a fix to those transmissions I heard, its a electrical ground problem causing the solenoids to malfunction.
I think it is really good but to each his own.
Nice to see Ford keeping the manual gearbox.
They would sell a lot more if it also came with a good automatic. If they sell more would that be a good thing? I dunno, but maybe there would be more aftermarket availability.
+Zoo Thief They like keeping it manual just because they want to see only car enthusiast driving the RS not some random Grandma or Mom
+UnitedGamerV Ford is a corporation that wants to make money. If it was feasible to stick in an automatic, they would. But the Ford Performance Project Lead had other ideas.
+Leopard95 These aren't high-volume sellers anyway. Same as Golf R, STI etc. If you really want one of these, you know what the score is.
+Leopard95 The ford FOCUS/FIESTA power-train / gearbox is the single worst of ANY car company.... I own a FOCUS 2015 "Titanium" the transmission Manual/ Auto are POS. I had the manual put in after two full replacements in under a year!!!

We are FINALLY! getting the Focus RS, here in the States, this summer. Now, if Chevrolet would get on their game and do a hot version of the new Curze Hatch...please....
it looks absolutely stunning in that blue.
Its a RS tradition that loads of them end up written off down a ditch or wrapped around a tree
+S Miller Haha i never thought about it that way but you are absolutely correct.
Hope these sell like mad so I actually have a chance of owning one one day in the used market
Just imagine what the aftermarket is going to do with this!
An AWD that already comes with a turbo.. An ECU tune will give you another 40hp pretty easily
+Dee Jay I wouldn't count on getting a bargain price RS, The Mk1 and Mk2 have held there money.
Man I'm just now looking at these and they're STILL over 30k!
The quote at ~8:10 is THE BEST. It's really all you need to know before buying.
Xcar, Carfection whatever your name is. You still remain top in quality and content! - Thank you.
OMG I want one of these so much!!! That Golf is so dull as well, lol.
So it has a similar AWD system than the Evo X? It also offered true TQ vectoring and not the brake assisted systems you see in most cars.
Brilliantly presented video! my favorite part "when u beat them at the lights and then execute a perfect drift around the round about giving them the finger!" LooooooooL ... something about fast Fords that always appeal to me as the underdog to the establishment i.e. Benz, BMW, Audi 00I00 ;)
Best review I've seen to date, great presenter. Just waiting for mine to arrive now!
Have fun with it man :)
I watched all the making of videos, this car is just amazing.
focus rs a car built by car enthusiast for car enthusiast. truly a masterpiece by ford
Ford definitely seems to be back up there with this one and having been there in the past, it's really good to see. You've forgotten the M135i though, and that's a shame because for fun it's probably the best hyper hatch out there. Not everything about a performance car is a statistic.

This bloke knows his shit all his reviews I have watched are interesting. I've got an RS now I can't imagine life without it.
Been waiting for this video for a long time, and it didn't disappoint! I need to get behind the wheel.
Selling the bimmer for an RS!
That color...perfect on this car.
Sync 3 is out now in the US and it's being rolled out on some Ford models in the UK this summer. Hold out until next year to grab an RS and you'll get a cracking infotainment system too!
Finally a drift button for an AWD car! My dream has come true!
I want this more than the ST. I need this car in my life!
Well done on the presentation! Fantastic "no bullshit" review and aimed very well at people who buy cars to drive on the road!
Epic. Been waiting forever for Carfection's video!
At 3:00, which part of "good driver" is associated with missing the apex by a good meter? :)
What a handsome car, especially in that blue paintjob
+Farhan Mahalludin British gas van lol
When are you going to review an M2?
+Carfection fantastic!
+Carfection best of luck out there and be safe...but mostly...have fun! My favorite car reviewer on youtube btw!
Guys, do you know the song at the very end from 9:40 - ?? I can't find it anywhere...
hi! really apreciate your videos, i can see cars that aren't availiable in my country! i need your help, wich video is that with the two old rs focus there? thanks!
can someone tell me what's the name of the song starting at 1:03??!!!
Ford are on a brilliant roll at the moment, great work by them !
And another top notch film by Carfection, many thanks :-)
Forget about Hot Hatches, it seems in general to be one of the best cars, especially as value for money goes. Obviously it won't hold much against the top of the line brands but yeah, it is a realistic dream for a regular chap.
My current new car choices are 16' Mustang gt, 16' Focus rs (if there is not a huge waiting list), or wait another year to to save more money and buy an m2? Any suggestions?
I think this and the Type R the best hot hatches out there right now
Can't wait to get mine, ordered in traditional white. People mock because it's a Ford but who cares, I've got 2 911's and this will be much more fun! Mugs
I heard that the fiesta and focus RS projects were cancelled.. When this car is going to be available ?
2 months
LJ Balongue thanks
Is this car released yet? Can't find anything at dealers online stores.
I love his description about what to do to people who pass on it just because it's a Ford. Beat them at the light and give them the finger while drifting around a roundabout? I would absolutely love to do that to Audi, VW, & especially MB owners who think their cars are better & more special, because they spent more money on them.
I like the looks of the A45 much better, but it's more expensive and the Focus RS may have more torque with it's 2.3 (vs 2.0) engine.
Not a chance this would beat an a45 or rs3. Love the vids btw
When I get a family, this will be the car I get lol
Are you going to review the new peugeot 308 gti?
Loved the presentation, everything needed to know and hear apart from the car revving and popping lol
Very good review clear honest even about competitors in same class could be looking at my next new car
i heard Drive's Road Testament music towards the end. was waiting for Mike to show up lol. did JF move to carfection?
7 Years is a leggend Car 😎😎😎🤩🤩🤩
Great car, great video.
Love the fact the Ford Performance is going the opposite way of BMW M and AMG by making car for enthusiasts! No automatic option! Fully off traction control option! That's what enthusiasts want! And a car that helps you drift? Sign me the fuck up
Great review and great presenter. Well done!
I really love this blue. Wondering how it'd look on my Ford Puma :D
I like this video. You had some pretty funny parts. BUT, I'm waiting for a real review to see exactly what she'll do. Also, you'll have to shoot a head to head video including all of it's competition. That will be a GREAT video. A HOT HATCH WAR!!!!
This guy should be on Top Gear
What song is playing at the very end of this video?
+Shaun Butterley I'm wondering myself. Certainly not Darude. ;)
Great vid, but am getting confused between the Roadshow and Carfections roles - why not a single channel?
Does Drift mode feel like a regular rear-wheel drive car at same speeds on normal roads?
provides 70% tq to the rear wheels and allows for massive wheel spin.
What's that song and who's the artist in your click to subscribe panel?
+Michael Schirmer I tried searching with what lyrics I could make out with no success =/
+NitzkaClips Yah I tried with several different listening apps too with no luck. Was hoping that someone from Carfection would let me know...
This is going to sound so good with an aftermarket exhaust.
With race header and cat-back exhaust yes! deletes the cats...
Yes absolutely.
Whatcha driving now
what is the music track that is heard in the beginning?Does anybody know?
What's the name of the song in the beginning of the video?
I do want one pretty bad :D What a great car and so much more affordable than the RS3 or A45!
I am a AMG person but I have to have this car .
who is the presenter? Always enjoy his stuff!
last song?
Complaints; Dark interior. Apparently dark=sporty to the design team since if you get a Focus SE with the black interior it'll have a pale gray headliner and if that's not enough you can get the pale greige gut ("Medium Light Stone" in Dearbornspeak). Oh, and no MFT in those...
+nlpnt Unless you want a 50k Focus, I'd embrace the black.
if you got the Mustang 350r in the UK then you would know how good it is nice car good video
You need to test out the Audi TTRS it looks really cool too!
What was your average consumption?
Please do compare this to the civic type r in DRY condition and with a skilled driver on a track that requires power, as well as downforce. really like to see whos the quickest
sounds like a good DD
this guy is good, top lad
Now I Wanna see Mashup of the RS vs A45 vs RS3 vs Golf R. Now that will be exciting & interesting..
That new A45 AMG with limited slip and adaptive dampers would roast this. So jealous we don't get that in the USA.
Love your videos.
Ford literally put wheels on the Dart Waider mask... 🤣 🤣 🤣
rs vs m135i which one it better?
The guy makes the Ford RS AWD system sound so advanced but when you look underneath it's got some really weak drive shafts. The rear diff is clever but it's not as advanced as one in the Evo or GTR. Title of the ending song n artist please anyone?
