Those are definitely valid points to consider and I totally agree!
For me personally the nier collab is the reason I picked the game back up
Recently I was able to break through the 160 wall, after having terrible luck with my pulls
I didn't have any pilgrims at all, because I stopped playing before the modernia banner
Progression was slower, but there are other characters for a reason
They'll get the job done, just nowhere near the level of better units
As long as people don't make a decision and complain about it afterwards, they should make a choice based on what type of player they are
Even story focused players need good units, so pulling for a unit they're rarely gonna use is a conscious decision on their part
If they don't like it that's on them
I've got enough gold tickets to guarantee either 2B/A2/Kaine (depending on who they'll run) and I finally got 2 pilgrims being snow white and modernia recently
So it all worked out in the end
I can pull for the anniversary and can get a nier character without even using any saved gems

Also, i think it's important to consider that abnormal manufacturer gear is probably stacking up on some older players accouts. Like, i have so much abnormal gear at this point, it's not even funny. I expect some way to redeem that type of gear and craft targeted pieces in the future, but it's still such a waste to not have characters for an entire armor type.
Makima may not be the greatest but serves her purpose well. You can use her to max clear the train paired with biscuit. (Probably) the nier collab will be the same
This was my first Gacha and I started during Chainsaw man collab, I spent all of my gems and tix trying to get her to no avail. I had no idea that re rolling was a thing so I'm still depressed about it to this day because she makes my life a living hell in arena lol.
There's only 1 character on my wishlist that I'm missing right now, and that's Scarlet. So I feel like I have plenty of characters to use at the moment, even if they aren't fully limit broken. So I'd likely go for limited characters over a new best character. I'd hate to miss out on something I can't get again.
I'll do a couple pulls on collab but only if they are good characters, not the best but at least good ones
Limited characters are usually not that amazing from what I’ve seen. So probably just gonna save for a new pilgrim or something of the sort

i was wondering, are they gonna make pod shoot for them and only for burst they use sword? or attack like scarlet and use pods for burst?
In my opinion the character from collab never gonna be good but their always going to be intersting to have it cause are diferent, collab characters have to undertand that theyre made for publicity of the game and gain more players.
its important to know if you play it for fun or meta its for fun make what you want if its metagame you have limitations more if you are f2p but rare its a meta player it didnt spend money in the game
though i agree that meta over waifu, nier has made the most significant impact on my life, philsophically and existentially speaking. plus, we dont know if 2b could be meta so
Square Enix absolutely will not allow Shift Up to make the Nier characters trash, it’s their cash cow, this will be the first and probably only meta collab
Personally I think waifu over meta but I may be the minority. I summoned on Blanc and Noir and after 150 summons I had enough to pity three characters, but I saved the pity on them and instead pitied mary and would have pitied neon if I had too. I can still Clear every piece of content in the game easily without those meta units, so unless the release content in which you need these broken characters. I'm gonna stick with waifu
I do agree that Meta units make the game much easier though. Like my scarlet can easily double the damage of any other dps she is with, even my modernia. She makes content easy, but she is not necessary for me

Im probably saving 60k union tickets if Liberalio turns out to be a reabilitation unit and im gonna see how many golden tickets I have in a couple months for future units. Gonna need 800 tickets to, at least, guarantee a nice waifu.

If you have Dorothy, Modernia and maybe Scarlet, Centi, Noise, The Twins and you should have Guilty you should be winning meta wise like he said based on past banners the next Pilgrim should be busted Shift Up/Level Infinite gave us 57 free summons in the half anniversary imagine how much free summons on the actual anniversary it maybe more than 57 I'm predicting alot more but anyways NieR will be limited as he said the pilgrims will be on the standard banner, but 2B and hopefully A2! Maaaaannnn I'm saving for those two as my account is okay as I've broken the 200 barrier, just waiting patiently for Centi, Noise & Blanc to come home

I have saved 70k gems since depleting my account for Dorothy and Bunny girls. If I save until Anni ill have over 120k gems which will allow me to mlb whichever broken character they drop.
I'm saving for Nier because I'm a big fan of the Game :3 I Love A2 and Kaine. 2b id nice too :3 also, there are 2 types of players, waifu collectors are the Casual Players, and Meta players or the sweaty type or whale account players. just people who try hard. not a bad thing just most people like to play for fun.
