CLOSE OF PROBATION - SLEEP (DEATH)

This week’s study is the -
Close of Probation - Sleep (Death)
1 Corinthians 15:51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
"The period of probation closes in two ways, before the second coming of Jesus Christ or by Death.
Whilst one is alive, it is a time to correct all defects in character and to climb up the ladder of sanctification.
Upon death (sleep), no work of character development can be attained.
We are directed in scripture to take heed to the work of self-examination. Therefore every christian is to consider this reality on a daily & work as though everyday was their last"
We are to make the best of our present opportunities. There will be no other probation given to us in which to prepare for heaven. This is our only and last opportunity to form characters which will fit us for the future home which the Lord has prepared for all who are obedient to His commandments.. LDE 236.3
By attending to self-examination we shall be enabled to guard against self-deception, which consists in a wrong judgment of our spiritual condition. The grand remedy for self-deception, is self-examination.
