How long did it take you to find your first job?
I got a job right out of college but I turned it down because it wasn’t the right fit for me. I kept searching for another 10 months until I found a job I liked.
I just got my first job 9 months after my 'Hello World"
🎉
@@levankantara can i connect you for some help🥺
I love your story and your channel. Thanks for the inspiration.
Happy to hear that ❤️
thx for sharing your experience. I encourage my GF to self-educate herself and learn valuable skills/traits like initiative and abstract problem-solving. As a former employer, I see the preinterview and application process as a part of the interview. A developer is a problem solver at the core; one of the biggest tests for a developer is problem-solving how to get a job when it seems like you can't get one.
Hi Alina,
I had my first contact with Java 2 years before my first job as an intern at a big company, but I just started studying Java (for real) 2 or 3 months before getting the first job. I was receiving R$2000 which is approximately $400 or $500 here in Brazil, but it's considered a very good salary for an intern here. I had a Java senior developer as a mentor which helped me A LOT because it was my first experience as a developer. Yeah, I consider myself very lucky for that, a good company, a great mentor and a good salary.
Thanks for telling us your experience, I love your videos!
Sounds like a great place for the first job 😉👍

I am undergrauate student in turkey but i wanted to be self taught programmer so can I land on job remotely with python programming skills
Nice story, you are rly lacky:) My first IT job came to me after about of 2 or even more years after start learning
2 years is a reasonable time 👍 It also depends a lot on a tech stack
What are the most important concept that every self taught programmer needs to know?
I’m trying to get past JavaScript into Ajax, React js, and also getting into Python but every time I learned something there is more additional stuff to learn. This keeps discouraging me and making me struggle to understand these concepts
Why don't you focus on one language?
Do you think learning python is a good idea? And how difficult is it to get an entry job with that language in Denmark?
From my experience, there is a good demand for Python developers. It also depends on what you plan to work with in the future. If you like it then go for it 🙂
It is not impossible to get a job in Denmark as a junior developer but it is easier if you have experience. Also depends on your skills.
C++ is always a good pick. It introduces you to Linux, object oriented programming, build systems and much more. Concepts and skills from C++ are also transferable to other languages.
Thanks for video Alina! I am planning to come to coupanhagen! I have like 8 years of software development experience in .NET world with Azure Cloud. .net core 3.1, 5, 6, sql server, mvc... How much salary range can i expect?
It depends a lot on the company and position. From what I know, the salaries for the most part, are in the range of 55-70k DKK per month for a senior software dev.
@@girllovescoding Thank you for the informatin
No problem
M'y first job was in odoo developper
Very interesting story. I learned HTML, PHP, Javascript and css this way:
I ran a forum (Simple Machines), then had to modify it to my taste.
I got hooked on coding, and was eventually offered a position at Simple Machines, as a team member (it's all open source). I was around 30 years old.
A few years later, I got a job as a developer, at a company that makes electric panels (I'm an electrician by trade), which was basically a huge project in an Excel sheet. I quickly realized, that a lot could be coded in Visual Basic for Applications, so I taught myself again, on how to program in that language.
Granted, as an electrician trainee, I also learned how to code on something called a PLC (Programming Latency Controller), back in the late 80s. But it's a very basic form of coding.
I´m at the self-teaching status at the moment. Hopefully by the end of the year I can have my own project. Any resources you want to share from coursera?
It was 7 years ago I was on Coursera, so the resources are very outdated 😅
@@girllovescoding How about a video on how you would learn programming if you started in 2022? What would you do different?
Great idea! 💡
Having learned hml-css-js for web development, why did you choose C#?
C# is also used for Web development and it is very popular in the country where I live 🙂
@@girllovescoding in the country where you live which is more used .net framework or .net core?
@@angelvargas6587 hard to say, everyone is moving towards .net 6 😉
@@girllovescoding Of course C# is popular here. It was developed by a Dane.
Just like C++ and others 😜
4:23 🤣🤣🤣 Yup I got to like this video
Glad you liked it :)
