I personally don't struggle with an ED, but your channel popped up as a recommendation and I was faced with the most sincere and humble person I have seen in a long time. Thank you for being here, both on this platform and on earth in general.
Allie you just SMASH this!!! It's amazing to see you so quickly gaining back the fun and adventure around food, and allowing yourself to really enjoy despite the fear. I'm nearly 3 years post recovery and you make me remember these beautiful moments of getting my life back!
I don't usually comment but it is SO hard getting over the mental block that comes with trying to conquer an ED which I know is ruining my health in so many aspects & physically and emotionally tearing me apart. It is so hard to see anything other than numbers, feeling guilt, going to bed hungry etc,. I am SO PROUD that you are eating and getting healthy!! I am on the same journey and honestly your health is way more more important than numbers. We deserve to eat and live a healthy life and feel wonderful!
you are ABSOLUTELY right. we deserve better 😤 i’ve found it helpful to remember that any resistance to recovery comes solely from my ED - it’s acting out of self-preservation, which makes sense. but that doesn’t mean you need to act according to what it’s telling you 😌 the less ED, the less resistance. hold out for that 🫶🏻
As a Brit lemme explain mushy peas to you haha so basically it’s a super common thing to get with fish and chips (and they’re served hot). The reason they started mushing them is because when peas and mushed they don’t roll around on the shop floor hahaha basically just easier to deal with AND THEY TASTE INCREDIBLE
As a Brit..I can't riot because I don't like them (mushy peas) one bit ... but they're a common side with fish and chips!! Good job on your recovery, you look amazing and are doing fantastic!!
If you could make a video on ways to deal with food guilt that would be amazing!! You're doing such a good job and you're really inspiring me on my recovery journey
I looked it up and apparently sultanas and raisins are both dried grapes but they're just two different types. Basically, raisins are darker in color and sultanas are lighter in color and the two are dried using different processes. Sultanas are also only made from green grapes. The more you know!
It's so inspiring to see people share their stories. I've been in anorexia recovery for 2.5 years, although I've gone through some small relapses and still struggle every day to pick up my food. (Recovery is not linear!) After leaving my partial hospitalization program, I've kind of struggled to keep myself accountable and have a hard time doing this on my own. I'm happy I found your channel as it is reminding me to continue to challenge myself in order to truly be happy in life, so thank you. Let's get through this together!❤
The mushy peas are labeled 'chip shop style' as many fish and chip take away shops here in the UK serve mushy peas as an alternative to normal peas alongside the fish and chips! I defo recommend making your own with a squeeze of lemon, they're a childhood favourite !
ohh i defs should try them again with lemon + seasoning! they’re still a bit of a mystery to me though. why mash the peas when you can serve them whole 😂😂

Ahh, you’re such a sweetheart! Just came across your channel & I absolutely loved your explanation of why you wouldn’t go into the deep private depths of your ED. I’m 36, I have an ED at the opposite end of the spectrum. When I was in hospital many years ago, I met some beautiful humans, but yes.. it became so competitive regarding both MH & ED’s. It made my heart so heavy & sad. It’s refreshing to see someone on their journey speak as you have, I do hope others take a leaf out of your book regarding their own journeys 💗 Haha! Mushy peas are traditionally served with fish & chips, they’re just mushed up peas with mint! I don’t rate them, but many seem to like them lol. Our British equivalent to Vegemite is marmite, I wish you could try some, I’d love to hear the comparison! A raisin is dried naturally, but a sultana is dipped in veg oil and acid and then dried (which gives it that sultana yellow colour!) - both are from grapes. Fun fact lol! I’d love to see a little day in your life, perhaps a little video (however, only if you feel comfortable doing so!) about you; if you have siblings, animals, plans for your future, studies etc :) Sending you many blessings, & well done on this vlog, another day!! Proud of you x
🥹🥹 thank you for this lovely comment!! EDs can be so so competitive and it can be hard to stay focused on your own path. i hope that you have the help you need to heal 💛💛
I have so much to say about the peas as a British person! One is I hate salt on stuff but you have to have a little salt on them heated up or they’ll just be bland green mush. And definitely with potatoes (we sell them in chip shops so chips and fish usually) - I can’t stomach the idea of them with couscous! Give them a second chance with the right accompaniments!!
As a british person, chip shop style purely means that it is something you would find in a chip shop which is a form of take away found in britain. Mushy peas are questionable in my opinion but some people enjoy them. Your doing so well and I am proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone :)
I think mushy peas became popular because of chip butties (like takeaway chips in a roll), they can easily be spread on top as like a sauce. As a Brit I’m not too keen on them but it’s not bad 🙃
only found your page last night but I love your vids and are honestly kicking butt. I don't like commenting on someone's food, but yours is super aesthetic. In saying that, I'd love to see an 'ugly' foods or an unaesthetic food challenge day. because they are delicious and nutritious too. i know you most likely agree hehe
Seeing your reaction to mushy peas was so funny. There called chips shop because we have a type of takeaway that’s called a chippy(fish and chips) and it sell fried fish, sausage , chips and sides like mushy peas and curry sauce a good video idea maybe when your a little further in recovery could be to try different snacks/ foods from around the world. ( my name is also Alie!!)

Some people with anorexia don’t fear specific food..it’s that they don’t consume enough food..so whilst food challenges are part of it..the reality is people eat foods that fit in a budget each week and eat the same things multiple times a week
