Sir may I just point out the expression that you did...9-12÷3×2=1, you got 7 which is an error. If you punch this expression into a calculator you will not get 7. The reason you got 7 is because you did...3×2 first. Both multiplication and Division are a order of priority. So if Division comes before Multiplication In a given expression (like in this case), moving from left to right. Division SHOULD BE DONE before Multiplication. So that's why when you punch this expression into a Calculator or Ai program you will Not get 7 but 1. Remember the expression is being solve from left to right. So if Division comes before Multiplication it is to be done first. Both are a order of priority. It is just a matter of which one comes before the other from left to right.
This is great video broken down very nicely, however u move bit too fast when going through the examples for future presentations if u could slow down a bit. Thank u
Multiplication always coming first doesn't make sense to me because 32 ÷ 2 × 4 - 5 can also be rewritten as 32 × 1/2 × 4 - 5. In which case, 16 × 4 - 5 gives 64 - 5; whereas 32 ÷ 2 × 4 - 5, with your explanation gives 32 ÷ 8 - 5, which seems to be completely wrong to me. Can I have an explanation as to why it isn't just multiplication/division from left to right? Cuz, again, division is just multiplying by the inverse
I am surprised at the way you handle the minus sign. The minus sign is used to indicate two different things in mathematics. It can be used to represent a negative number which tells us how far to the left of zero the number is. Secondly, it can be used to indicate the binary operation of subtraction which is defined as the addition of opposed of the number being subtracted. The minus sign has no mathematical meaning. To solve expressions, first change all operations of subtraction to addition and then apply the rules for adding positive and negative numbers which can be easily explained using the number line. Cheers.
When you input the entire expression into the calculator 4-2+7-9/3 your answer is still 6 and you do 9/3=3, 7-3=4, then subtract 2 from 4=2 your final answer would be 4+2=6
There are a few different versions of this rule. When I was at school back in the 1960s we used BODMAS but in all the time I've been teaching since 1978 we have used BEDMAS here in New Zealand. The E stands for exponentiation (raising to a power). The D and M can be swapped since division and multiplication have the same status. Also the A and the D can be swapped as they also have the same status. So you can have BOMDAS, BOMDSA, BODMAS or BODMSA but obviously some are more difficult to say out loud, so we tend not to use them. When you have a sequence of multiplications and divisions (with no brackets), you should just work from left to right. Similarly, when you have a sequence of additions and subtractions, you should just work from left to right.
Thanks ProMath.. You made it very easy to understand
I do Bidmas and my answer was 59
Great video🎉🎉
still waiting for part 2 ....please upload part 2
Good stuff. Where is part 2 ?
In PEMDAS, P stands for parenthesis and E stands for Exponents.

This was great but pemdas is parentheses, exponents im pretty sure
great video! can u please link me to part 2?
Part 2 please
You teach so well where is part 2
Awesome and easy
Thank you! Please feel free to recommend topics!
Good explanation👏
3:14 even numbers, which when divided by e ........ was this planned to happen at pi minutes? .
Thanks much. U made it easy to understand 👍
Intermediary section, example 3 is incorrect.
Blessings my G 👊🏽

Beautifully explained 👏

There is also bodmas too the caribbean mostly use this
Blessings mi boss
Nice lesson do have complete module of this?
great, big help !!!

Multiplication and division have the same precedence. 9:53 should be 59 not -1. Checked on symbolab and wolfram alpha. Also 12:32 is wrong as well.
@@ezekielfullington6608 You can use symbolab.com, it can do more advanced math problems as well.
@@ezekielfullington6608 The answer is negative 2
Rule BODMAS and not BOMDAS
@@gvlnchary8573 Multiplication and division have the same precedence
I got 59 as well
Is it true that negative numbers can be even? Odd? I thought only positive ones could be even or odd
Yes that is correct!
Love the presentation, what is the pattern of upload? Random?
Thank you for commenting! Yes the current upload pattern is random but persons can make requests.
10:21 unless u gonna tell me a Calulator is wrong and that the correct way to do it isn't bodmas, then that's wrong

made it very easy, thank you, big up yuhself

Unless you gonna tell me a calculator is wrong,
It’s bodmas not bomdas
It is the same thing go and check for clarification
