Wonderful and intriguing article, Mitch. It is very warming to see a "mom and pop" business that is successful in face of stiff competition from larger and older corporations. The people that you interviewed seemed to be most cordial and knowledgeable of their craft. It always adds something to a product that you purchase to know that there has been personal attention payed to that product.
My compliments, Mitch, for a well done interview and great, great questions. Great company with fine instruments!!!!!

WOW!!! Fantastic video about nice people! Fodera is a dream for many bass guitar players and now guitar players.

If they had a larger workforce, and didn't manufacture in NY, I bet Fodera would actually be affordable.

Tone wood is a selling gimmick on solid body guitars.

X H4r7 - Yeah, you’re right. These master luthiers with years of experience don’t have nearly the knowledge you have. Or maybe…

Not in bass!!..but i found that 80% of Fodera "boutique" bass i listen to,sound quite the same!!!! Every Fodera owner talk about an incredible playability,so i think that it's great plus for an instrument! Mix good looking wood, great electronics and great playability and you find Fodera....as well as other great brand! You buy great instrument but maybe pay a little bit for the name!.....if you have the money, why not? For examples, I play 3 different Status bass for years,3 different wood combinations and 3 different sound, same electronics, same amp,but three different sounds!!!! Wood make lot of the sound if you have a good electronics that let you ear the difference! that's my experience.Played Tune a bass for years, sell it and play the same with another electronics (new owner change it) and it sounds completely different!! Some electronics kill the wood tone but if you like the tone, why not?

I’m getting pretty sick of having to add more and more things to the list of things I will probably never be able to afford but want.
