    Mimo, as a Turkish person, I'd like to thank you because you make ppl realise how wide the world actually is. The Western Countries and the U.S.A. are only a few of many. Thanks for speaking up and being the voice of the voiceless. You keeping talking about Gazza and emphasising on these horrific events is inspiring so many ppl to keep speaking up, too. Go girl!

    • @slaycetinkaya1631
      @slaycetinkaya1631 7 месяцев назад +4

      I take back all the nice words. I know mimo is a good person but when you have a big audience you do your research. Talking about an alleged genocide while introducing our country to world is sooo wrong.

    • @slaycetinkaya1631
      @slaycetinkaya1631 7 месяцев назад +5

      Mimo genocide means "the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.". The situation in Turkey was not the same. Even today, we still discover mass grave zones of Turkish people. There was a war and both part were killing each other. The reason you did not know because it's not a genocide.

      @@slaycetinkaya1631 Just because there were some people who were Armenians that did bad things against the Empire doesn't mean that it's not a genocide anymore. And quite a few genocides take place at wartime...

You also represented our culture perfectly and we obviously dont dress like this everyday but in cultural dances and events we do. Again, thank you for this barbie and your appreciation to this disaster🙏

    Thank you for educating us on all of these cultures. Being of Greek and Cypriot heritage (I don't live in either country, I'm a first generation Aussie), all I know about Turkey is what they've done to my ancestors and that my mum almost died as a young child due to the war in Cyprus. She and my yiayia made it onto the last plane out of Cyprus before the airport was bombed.
    I know that a country's past actions and even the government and military's current actions do not reflect the opinions of all of the citizens so it's nice actually learning a bit about Turkish culture not coming from a place of hate.

    I do think that education about and awareness of the Armenian Genocide is growing here in the US - I'm a young adult, and in my world history class in high school we had a day where our teacher pasted up firsthand accounts of the genocide around the room, and we all spent the class period walking around and reading them in complete silence. It was an experience that really stuck with me. Shameful that it took our govt. so long to formally recognize that a genocide happened there, but I guess that's pretty par for the course.

    • @Sky-ht6tv

      Just yesterday we learned about this genocide. Our teacher had up pictures of the Armenian and gave us first hand accounts from those making the march across the desert. It was truly awful what they had to experience.

    I was born in the Netherlands, but I am Turkish. The Earthquake impacted us all. We are still very emotional about it. The amount of children we lost. But it was easier to accept and let go than what is happening in Palestine right now. An Eartquake is a natural disaster and the damage was done, but we can still influence what is happening in Gaza. I have never suffered mentally this much in my life because of something. I had to step away from the media for a few weeks because I could not function anymore (as I am also chronically ill with a toddler). It hit us all with reality. On how cruel politics are and how little children lives matter when it comes to money and power. I never felt so lost and so desperate and hopeless. It feels like i have lost so many children of my own. As a mother I morn the deaths of the children. Not a day goes by without Palestine in my mind. We do whatever we can. We protest, we write, we donate but I dont know anymore. We have failed humanity.. I couldnt even look in the faces of the Palestinians I know. The pain and dissappointment is all over.. I just want to the Palestinians to know. Dont you ever believe the world didnt hear or see. There are just to many powerful bad people that are in our ways... 🇳🇱🇵🇸🫶 free Palestine. And I will do whatever I can to spread the word and support. To the Palestinians,, most beautiful souls I have ever seen.
