I have the 120 and sold my worn little cordless dewalt saw and bought this for mobile. At first I wasn’t a fan but now after time it’s a great saw and far more accurate than the dewalt. The 120 is still king.
Have you been able to find a good fence that will allow you to cut larger crown? I’d really like to go cordless but I’m trying to figure out what the maximum crown size I’ll be able to do. Thank you for taking the time to make this content, my festool collection grows because of you.
Hello, sorry for the delay in response, I found I did need to install a taller fence on the KSC60 to be able to do larger crown, I will do a video on that process as soon as I can. Thanks for watching and always let me know if you have any further questions!
@jeffpower6473 yep. I fought this for years, but the festool makes compound miter cuts so easy and accurate. Just Google for a compound calculator and experiment for a couple cuts on scraps. Done! Safer and more accurate imho!
Awesome enjoy, I have really enjoyed mine for sure! I spent some time trying to figure out what the slide knobs were at first couldn't figure out what they did! The slide outs were a nice surprise!
I have had this saw for a month now. Awesome power and solidness on the compound angle cuts through thick material. The only issue I have is that I have it sitting against a wall on the stand, and the hose connector goes straight back, no angle option like the track saw. There is not enough clearance for the hose without a sharp bend in the hose that of course wants to push against the wall moving the blade forward in the up position, so kinda annoying fidgiting with the hose half the time. How did festool miss this. I guess they thought being mobile it will just plop out in the middle of a room most of the time.
Hi! I am a professional woodworker and I have the old style Kapex plug in. I am a cabinet builder, and do a lot of crown molding installs. I really like the idea of this battery smaller version for the job site. Do they have crown stops for this saw? I wish they made the fences taller for crown moldings, what did you do for this? Thanks!
Thank you... I got this on your recommendation... But could you please make some recommendations for saw-blade companies which you feel work well with the KSC60 for cleaner/cleanest cuts?
Great review, I have the new kapex 60 and been using for about 2 weeks now and it cuts prefect miters right of the box. Really like the stand and the ability to cut 16 feet materials on it.
I would LOVE IT if festool added corded options to their cordless tools (especially for saws). Dewalt does this with some of their cordless tools and it's one of the best features to have. I just wanted to add. Whenever a Festool battery kicks the bucket, you'll have to fork over $140 to replace it.
It would be a nice feature but at the same time when the performance is the same, it's nice to not ever have to deal with the cords, especially when working mobile. I am not concerned with the battery life, 3 year warranty on it and I am still using my oldest batteries from drills that are around 8 years old, have never had one die. Can't say that about my Bosch ones for sure.
Can the trimming attachments be attached to the ksc without the underframe like the old one. So say u had the saw on a mft table found u add the wing attachments?
@@fultonfinewoodworksthank you! I was thinking that because the trigger had the button on the left side only that it might be awkward to use left handed I’ve used the old hitachis for so long I can’t use anything other than a d handle saw.
Well I bought one with the stand First off the stand is worth the money, it’s a total game changer for my mobile work setup. Secondly the safety button on the trigger is really awkward for me at least. Festool could have done that better. Luckily it’s easily removed. 😉
I love it, the only modifications I recommend is a 0 clearance plate and attach a higher back fence for taller moldings. I plan on doing a video soon showing that. I have made and tried two versions already.

Thank you for the great view. Much appreciated. The KS60 work for cutting crown molding?
Thank you. Helped me decide on the cordless version for my small mobile shop
Glad I could help

Cut crown flat no fence necessary

Just got mine last Friday, can't wait to use it Monday! And thank you for showing the table extends, i had no idea it did that.

Awesome review. Very professional, no yelling and antics like some other videos
I appreciate that!
Great review. Thank you. Definitely considering the cordless.

Did you notice much difference in the quality of dust collection between the two machines?
Thanks Ronnie this was super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative and well made video. Thanks! Subscribed
Thanks for the sub and glad it was helpful!

@@fultonfinewoodworks Most definitely. Also, great honest review here. Thanks so much for sharing this video with us.

Can you cut crown moulding like the 120?
What is the vertical baseboard capacity? 3/4 thick material.
Please compare this cordless 60 with the Milwaukee cordless 7 1/4 mitre saw
How do you find reaching round to use the bevel function ? I have the kapex so really like using the lever to bevel the saw and cut my skirting
It's the same for my corded Kapex so it feels natural for me. I have had my corded Kapex for around 12 years or so
Tried cutting anything on the bevel with the saw bevelled to the right only cuts 20mm
Only thing putting me off this saw.Pity Festool are late to the party with the Kapex 120 in a cordless version.
How's the dust collection on these models? Better than others or about on par?
Dust collection is excellent and the dust bag catches a surprising amount when not even connected to dust collection
can you use the KSC 60 with an older festool corded vacuum ?
you can but you'll have to check if the extractor will accept the Bluetooth module, otherwise its manual on and off
Good stuff man ! Does the saw have a systainer ?
Great review, covering a lot of ground in a short time. New subscriber. Cheers.
Thanks for the message and subscribe! Always good to hear when content is helpful!
Have you cut any 4x4?
Does the stand align with height if festool tables?
It's very close but not sure if exact
How is it to use both right and left handed?
I am left handed and use it with both hands regularly without any issues
@@fultonfinewoodworksthank you! I was thinking that because the trigger had the button on the left side only that it might be awkward to use left handed

The wings are only available in metric for the KSC 60 and it pisses me off like yiou would not believe.
We now have shadow line!! Hah ha Copy of Dewalt with a vertical damn handle
I for sure prefer the shadow line to the laser when working outside - the laser will remain on the larger corded Kapex
HOW CAN YOU CUT NESTED CROWN OR VERTICAL BASEBOARD WITH SUCH A SHORT FENCE?
It for sure needs a add on taller fence for doing larger crown, I just use a wider board and screw in from the back
@@fultonfinewoodworks THANKS. SO WHAT IS THE CROWN NESTED AND BASEBOARD VERTICALLY CAPACITY THAT WAY?
Any updatenon this?
