I don’t know what a shelter drillbit is? Or is it a shoulder drillbit? I can’t tell from your dialogue or show transcript. I just drill out the rivets and glued the chassis back on when I’m completed with my custom. I’ve never wanted to mess with Home and involves putting a screw in.

Glue works if it's just being displayed. Screws are needed if a child will ever have access to it. The technique I used is called "shielded drilling" and you use a vix bit, which is a self centering drill bit.

@ thanks for that hint. I’ve seen a lot of times spent on rivets and spent a little time myself and decided that time would be best used with my custom creation. I don’t have children to worry about handling my custom creations. The glue job I do looks neat and professional. Any diecast that I gifted children such as my grandchildren are fresh from the blister pack so I don’t have any needless worries.
Best luck with your continued success with your channel. You’re in good company with creators like Andrew at Mapleleaf creations.
      Take care, Robert
