Ok, everyone is saying that Sonny shouldn’t be with Emily? Sonny is TOXIC to EVERY woman and EVERYTHING he touches!! I mean seriously what is Carly talking about? Look at the danger her kids are in every single day! She’s a grown woman. She knows what business he is in! Let them alone already. Sonny actually in a way respects Emily. He’s NASTY to Carly!

I remember this, but forgot the part where Alan tells Emily she's no longer welcome in the house.
The writers were so in love with Sonny which is why he has lasted so long. People like the Quartermaines would have dealt with him long ago.

I always liked the Quartermaines,but they have no business judging Sonny or anybody else,especially for all their past indiscretions that can almost make Sonny Corinthos look like a saint by comparison.

Yet Jason had to hide his relationship with Courtney for a while, the hypocrisy. When they introduced Emily the character was a portrayed by amber Tamblyn a child. Did Sonny wait until she became of age to get romantically involved with her.
This pairing should’ve lasted longer. I feel like backlash killed it. Jason was a hypocrite. He dated Courtney way before sonny dated Emily. Where was all that sisters are off limits energy? The rift was entertaining to watch but didn’t make much sense. And as far as the fan backlash , there’s an odd group of gh fans who just don’t like sonny. Who don’t like how the mob started to dominate the show. But if we’re being honest some of the best storylines in recent years came out of that era. The metro court hostage , manny, Franco, the epidemic breakout , the entire Claudia fiasco etc. 🤷🏾♂️

I love Sonny. But he has a history of "dating" entirely too young women that borders on creepy. The way the character has been written - he's practically slept with almost every woman in town and father children with half of them - doesn't help.
Uh no…the Franco s/l sucked…plus watching Sonny & Jason do the same thing over & over again got old quick…this show used to be so versatile…until it became the Sonny show…

Seeing Todd and sonny go at it. But. Hey. Contracts said otherwise. Nonetheless initially it was a great storyline

emily bit the dust the next year I believe and Justus before that and if the writers didn't have such a hard on for Jason he would have been the next.....pretty much all mob related sad but at least there's consequences behind it.....just sad the Q's had to bear the brunt of it.

I agree that Emily did not belong with Sonny. And the Quartermaines had every right to be upset with Sonny and with Emily.
But as usual, they handled the situation in the worst way possible. With bombast, yelling and worst of all, ultimatums. Alan tells her as long as she is with Sonny she is not welcome in their house.
This was the same tactic they used with Jason and AJ. It didn’t work with them and it wouldn’t work with Emily.
They don’t leave room for compromise or reapproachment. They always made me so angry.
I never understood how a local mobster could take on the Quartermaines a billionaire family with high power connections.

When Claire Labine wrote the show in the 90s the Quartermaines always won. Period. There shouldn't have been any way that Sonny got Michael away from them. But of course Guza always had to have Sonny get his way.
He blacked mailed him into signing over custody of Michael to Carly and giving her a divorce after sonny found out an tried to burn down his warehouse it was either let Carly and Michael go or go to jail

even though i am sonny fan this storyline was so damn gross i couldnt even watch and as a hater pairing of Sonny & Brenda with a passion i would take that pairing over the gross pairing of Sonny & Emily because Sonny was old enough to be her father and also he know Emily since she was a teenager. This storyline made sonny look like a predator
