    1) loosen the star wheel you can hear it binding the rails.
    2) your guard is designed that way. Compared to other saws including the 2 original Flexvolt saws, the guard moves as designed. Don't worry about it.
    3) Very good review was entertaining.

    Like your info. I have both the Bosch and Flexvolt. I love the shadow line on the blade. I just mounted a small high intensity led light in the top of the blade cover on the Bosch glider. It works like a charm and gives a great shadow line. Not my idea, saw it on RUclips.

      Thanks for the comment. Wow that is really cool. If the Bosch axial had that light I probably would have kept it. That’s awesome about the light addition. Thanks for sharing.

    I just got mine today tool only with the free 9.0 battery from home depot. Yes my slide was a little rough as well. And I also have the small cordless slider. The blade guard on my big one seems normal. I was looking for the tool holder so I appreciate you finding it.
    My vertical hold down clamp won't stay in the rear holes. It just lifts when you tighten on a piece of stock any one know what I'm doing wrong

    I picked up this same kit a couple weeks ago, I’ll check the blade guard and slider when I get home to compare against yours. The box damage could be enough that stuff got just a bit messed up.

      Seems to be about the same,I thought mine was quieter but that must just be because I never operate it without some sort of hearing protection on.

    I think you're supposed to put the long part of the wrench in the tube.. maybe?
    Hope they upgrade the 7-1/4" to a brushless motor.

    • @diywithandrew
      @diywithandrew  Год назад +1

      You might be right. Yea that would be really cool. It’s already a great saw but brushless would be awesome. I think I’m gonna hang onto it, that’s how much I like it.

    It looks pretty good to me. I thought the dust collection was better than previous versions.
    What hose were you using for your collection?

      Yea I think you are right in that it is better than previous versions. I use a Bosch hose. Works like a charm. Here’s a link on Amazon: amzn.to/3yfU5gL

    I bought the same saw today, my blade was loose, i tried to tighten it and ita not working
    Every time I tighten it the blade gets stuck and it won’t move. I’ve been messing with it for 3 hours…. I came to RUclips and not 1 video shows how to replace the blade on this particular saw.
    I’ve changed the blade before on different miter saw’s but with this one, I’m noticing the blade is not setting on the inside washer. So when I tighten it down it all feels wrong. Help please

    I just got the 120v Cordless Sliding Miter Saw but have not had time to try it out. But now that makes me wonder, is the 60v replacing the 12Ov? Would be strange why they would reduce the power. I also have the M18 Sliding Miter Saw but it seems to have a factory defect that when the battery is about to die, the saw blade will jam up in the wood if your cutting or if you finish the cut and the battery dies, the electric brake will not work and the blade continues to spin. Milwaukee has No idea what their products do, I found out.

    • @diywithandrew
      @diywithandrew  Год назад

      Honestly I think the battery technology is getting very advanced. I'm not one to try to argue the cost of 120v (power grid) vs battery tech but still needing to charge on 120v (from power grid) but I do think it is worth keeping an eye on - especially for outdoor equipment. Thanks for sharing about the M18. That is the first negative thing I have EVER heard about Milwaukee so its good to know. I like when my blade stops quickly and this DeWALT miter definitely stops pretty fast. Thanks again for your comment.

      This model has regenerative braking, it puts charge back in the battery, like an EV.

    🤣 This video immediately became suspect(as in dewalt affiliate/employee made video)
    when the fellow discribed the saw as just arrived and is a beast without even taking it out of the box to demonstrate first. That's said mi still getting it because dewalt makes good tools.

      Haha. I’m a regular guy. Dewalt has never paid me anything and I don’t work for dewalt. I’m a realtor. LOL. I said it’s a beast because it’s heavy if I remember correctly.

    DeWalt did not equip this unit with a 120VAC plug-in option/feature JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS DHS790 had. They are GREEDY & want to force customers to buy MORE batteries!! I'll be skipping this model. They could at least make a 120V AC to 60v FlexVolt battery adapter, but again, that would cost them battery sales...

    • @diywithandrew
      @diywithandrew  Год назад +1

      I think you bring up an interesting point. I’m not sure I need to plug in but having the option sure wouldn’t hurt. Yea it’s hard not to think that the consumer is less and less in mind as tools and technology (and sales) progress.

    • @gigshare3947
      @gigshare3947 Год назад

      The battery can cut as much as you want to and top off in the wall charger when you do some other process besides cutting.

    • @default9740
      @default9740 Год назад +2

      Be careful what you wish for: the previous Flexvolt 12” had some real issues, mostly because of the ability to use mains power adding complexity & reduced reliability (and cost). Also, it was MORE powerful on batteries, so there’s that.

      The old model had motors frying in under a year because of the interchangeable power system. I'd say dewalt listened to their customers with this model.
