Some gems here Steve. Uncle Tom's Cabin is my favourite Warrant song. Slaughter's debut is excellent, The Wild Life is definitely worth picking up too mate. Slave To The Grind is perfection , Bach's vocals are outstanding on that. Cheers mate
Absolutely agree, and I love Uncle Tom's Cabin as well!
Absolutely loved this video Steve! All classic Glam/ Sleaze Metal albums! I love that Jackyl album and did see them live a few years ago! And I have to admit I never heard that Tora Tora album!
I think, actually I know you love that Tora Tora, look up their song Phantom Rider, one of my favorite songs of all time on the glam scene.
Killer video!! This is right in my wheelhouse, i an a huge fan of thrash , classic rock, heavy metal and much more but the Sleaze metal especially the more heavy and obscure bands are my favorite, you had some great choices here, a couple would make my list too, great job brother 👍🤘🤘
Hell yea! thank you. These are the best of sleaze for sure, couple of others I will show soon. Thank you for watching!
The singer of steelhearts name is miljenko matijevic, but you can call him mili , Mike, or Michael . He Pronounces it in interviews, he is from Croatia not Russia but you were on the right track cause their both Slavic
but the band its self ( not counting Miljenko) is from Connecticut, tangled in reins is so superb, i am so happy to see you love both as ive seen your great 90s metal video, i say tangled in reins is my favorite 🤟🤘💙🎸
Tangled in Reins is a masterpiece, very good album.
@stevesekora absolutely , very underrated too
Great idea for a video, and some interesting and excellent choices in here!
Thank you, thought about making this a top 20 and have the more traditional glam bands on it but decided to make this a 2 parter.
I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm 51, i was the kid rock'in the the Slayer / Exodus / Death Angel T's at school. And my guilty secret was I also listened to Skid Row / Great White / GNR ect. Saved my lunch money all year and put it toward my first Les Paul cause of Slash and Joe Perry. Maybe I was Posing .. HaHa. Love your Video's man. Never stop.
Thank you, all this stuff you mentioned is great. I never really got into Kid Rock but I like a few songs. My lunch money went to basecards and tapes back then 😂. Thank you for watching.
@@stevesekora Not Kid Rock, You've had one too many, HaHa
Always enjoy your videos, i think if you have been into Metal, in all its various forms for a long time, what you started loving and what you love now is unlikely to be the same, however it does not mean that it did not leave its mark on you and helped form who you are today. I started loving Metal in the mid 80s, Europe - the final countdown was the first song i ever loved and it is still cool to me today, GNR Appetite for destruction was the first album i ever bought, and still to this day is one of my favorite albums of all time. People who do not have a long history with Metal will never understand it. Enjoy what you want and frankly people who think it is cool to pretend to be someone like Justin H well are ones who are missing out on what Metal is all about...their loss. Cheers!!
Absolutely agree with this. And that GNR album is such a masterpiece. Thank you very much for watching this appreciate it you!
@stevesekora oh and I totally agree skid row were amazing loved their albums with Sebastian bach
@tobyfingland8149 those are the only albums I know is the first 3 and the EP. I should check the stuff out after Bach one of these days
@stevesekora i have heard bits and pieces some ok some not so much, their most recent album was ok and quite good
@tobyfingland8149 then that is where I will start.
I agree with what you said 💯%. I listen to whatever I want, regardless of what anyone thinks or who else likes it. I love all genres(nu metal, country, country/rap, alternative, rap, reggae, industrial, etc) & even some jazz and pop, but hard rock(esp glam) has always been my favorite! Thrash metal & death metal have always been my favorites behind hard rock. And I’m sure some ppl will consider me being a poser, I really couldn’t care less tbh! Favorite band ever is easy, Mötley Fucking Crüe. Keep rockin! 🤘🏼
Hell yes! I am the same and Motley Crue is one of the first metal bands I ever heard and still love the music to this day. Thank you for watching!
Nothing wrong with a bit of glam! I have a soft spot for the more funky ones like Bang Tango. The whole poser thing is the dumbest thing ever. The only true posers are people who call other people posers.
I didn't even know there was a glam band called Slik Toxik... gotta check them out. I've been wanting to pick up a copy of that Tora Tora album forever! I have that Jackyl album too. Rooster rock :D Dangerous toys is another band I want to check out at some point. I remember Steelheart from back in the day. I've been thinking of grabbing those early Poison albums, but I'm a bit on the fence anout it for some reason. What do youmthink... should I pick them up? I think I have a Warrant CD boxset somewhere. I need to find out.
I would pick up those Poison albums up, something about that Flesh & Blood album that has always clicked with me.
I absolutely agree with what you say about the poser thing, it never made any sense to me.
@ Thanks :)
@This-Is-Music a warrant cd boxset ?? How cool
Amazing picks for favorite glam metal albums, Steve. Good to see L.A. Guns, Dangerous Toys, Jackyl, Silk Toxik, Poison, Warrant and of course, Skid Row!
Thanks Tony!! This was a fun one.
I always thought a poser with somebody pretending to like heavy metal and thrash and really they didn't they really liked softer music
That's what I thought but these people throw it around to honestly get views IMO.
Slave to the Grind! Hell yeah! not gonna lie one of my favorite glam metal bands was Cinderella, Night Songs and Long Cold Winter are classics
Killer albums, Nightsongs will be in my Classics glam video when I make it. Killer album.
I’m 21 and when I was probably 19 I only listened to demos from probably 85-92 mostly death/thrash and I thought I was the shit using the word poser but now I’m older it’s quite dumb to say that, like what you like and I started getting into metal with glam and I still love that music, also awesome video dude!
Thank you! Yea, I started with glam and heavy metal album. Got into Thrash in about 87 and death metal in 93. The poser thing cracks me up because it was started by Balof from Exodus describing bands wearing make up haha.
Jakyl is one of the first somewhat metal bands that I heard a friend's dad would blast it in his Z28 Camaro those were great times! Immediately got into the essentials after that though😊
Z28! my friends and used jam a lot of tunes in my first car the Z28, picked up a lot of girls in that car. That Jackal album was played a lot in that car, love the chainsaw solo haha.
Some of my favorite Glam albums are:
Poison- Flesh and Blood
Skid Row- debut album
Firehouse - debut album
Def Leppard- Hysteria
Motley Crue- Dr Feelgood
Warrant- Cherry Pie
Love those albums obviously. That Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Firehouse are and will be in my honorable mention vid. That Firehouse has some killer guitar solos and production.
Awesome metal video going to listen to Twisted Sister Under The Blade 1982 cd
Thanks for watching and I love that album. Going to blast Guns n Roses after the movie.
Awesome video! Getting back to myself working on few things. Awesome selections! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks man, this was sorta fun to do, I have seven versions of it hahahaha. Looking to watching your vids bro!
@ 7 lol nice!! Thanks man🤘🏻🤘🏻
Generally a poser is defined as pretending to like something that you really don't. Just to try to fit in with a certain crowd. Like when someone wears a band shirt and can't even name any albums or song titles and or doesn't own any albums from the band.
Makes more sense actually.
When I was growing up and I'm 50 in Aug was someone who pretended to like something just to fit in now it's used loosely so rock on my dude
@@metalmystro7513 I agree. It really seems to be tossed around to gain attention.
Great video,subject bud
Thanks man, I thought this would be a cool one. I little different for my channel. Thanks for watching.
Apart from Slave to the Grind, I do like that one, glam is not my cup of tea, haha. 😂😂. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks Roger! Totally understand that. For me this music is stepping stones to the extreme stuff, never really stopped that phase once I discovered death metal in 93.. but I will admit I didn't listen to glam as much once that discovery was made.
@stevesekora I think I listened to some glam for about 6 months, and then I was done.
My CD copy of Slave to the Grind has GTFO on it.
@@NocturnalSummoning45 badass track. I don't really care for the song they replaced it with on the other version.
I believe Baloff from exodus termed the word poser which would mean anyone listening to bands that looked like chicks. I love all genres like you and could care less what anyone listens to and besides who really listens to heavy extreme music all the time? Not me I need to mellow out some days and glam is great for that.
The very same here, love the extreme stuff and prefer it more now but come back to these when I want the more realistic side I guess. That makes sense as well on the term poser.
Steve, you know you’re a POSER 😂. My question is what were you supposed to be pretending to be? We are all posers I guess. Maybe these purists will make some videos and set the standard for true music fans??
Good stuff. I have several of those and know most of those songs by memory. I met Tracy Guns in a truck stop one night believe it or not. I was POSING as a truck driver and he was POSING as a rock star 😂
😂 😂 😂 pooooozers. It honestly cracks me up that these younger people are calling others posers when we was alive and listening to the classic extreme stuff when the music and bands just released those albums back then... I think they use the term so losely that they need to define it and I believe they have no idea what the original meaning really was in which it was coined at the actually bands wearing makeup and NOT at the fans listening to those said bands.
@@stevesekora it's Justin Horval's (in) (cel) following who need to exactly copy his opinions and personality.
I wish I could sleep late. Lol
😂 yea, I work the graveyard shift the reason I sleep in late haha
@stevesekora tried that never could get use to it always tired. You got my respect brother
@seanbelcher4486 thanks man, it really is something that I grew up listening to and just never turned my back on. Of course now days I have to be in the mood to listen to it but dig it still.
A poser is a person who "positions" him or herself higher than others. In consequence that means those people who bully others for their musical taste are the real posers, right? I´m not offended being called a poser... although... I don´t like Glam Metal, hahaha... My taste is pretty diverse and I like my 80s Hardrock but this type of Metal never appealed to me. I don´t even own a single Mötley Crüe record.
I agree with this definition haha, your definition is more like what I am thinking. Glam metal is a certain taste and it is something I know a lot of people do not like. It was huge around here back then and it was the stuff that people knew more about. Thrash and black metal (First wave) was something listened to between small circles and hidden from the majority like a dark secret (True Underground) The darker bands rarely toured in this area so being young back then you would only learn about these bands in those type of circles in which I was proud to be a part of. As far as glam, it was more accessible and attracted the ladies. hehe
1989 Vain, Beat The Bullet and also in 1989, Leatherwolf, Street Ready are going to be in your top 5 after hearing them a few times.
Love that Leatherwolf ans Vain, I just don't have copies. But awesome albums for sure
@@stevesekora I don't have copies either. I play both through You Tube into my Pioneer SX 1250 Aux input then to my Polk SDA 2B's, no sub needed.
