it's a recreation! the biggest giveaway is the pink on yoshi's nose to show how he's straining. this "dynamic" coloration- i guess you can call it- is part of Wonder's artstyle

For instance, you can see the shadows of the shoes around his ankles on the yellow Yoshi not visible on the green. And yellow yoshis tongue has reflections that the green model does not. Yellow Yoshi also has a harsher more accurate shadow of his hand on his side, as well as more reflective shoes. They’re the same 3D model but updated textures which would require them to render it out again. So yes it’s a new render.
Or just constant reuse of renders in general, especially when it's so poorly done that it just becomes jarring. One example right off the top of my head would be Super Mario Run: you know the in-game diary? For example, the enemies. Some of them, like Bob-omb, Pokey, or Fuzzy, have more detailed renders that come from New Super Mario Bros. U. They're reused, but at least those make a bit of sense because they're pretty recent (kinda, they were at the time of Run's release anyways) and thus higher in quality. It makes LESS sense though when you place them next to the likes of Goomba, Green Koopa Troopa or Buzzy Beetle whose renders are as old as New Super Mario Bros. DS (and all three did have more recent renders that could've been used), which are lower in quality and incredibly jarring.

It looks to be the same model, just with different lighting. Maybe it's a placeholder that will be replaced with a different render, presumably after they've revealed whatever the spoiler aspect is. Like how Pikmin 4's promotional art didn't show all of the Pikmin types at first.
@@alfo2804 it's actually quite common practice in industry to redo the model by taking the original, rerigging it, adding more geometry where needed, material replacements to improve shadows, rebaked mapping to help lighting hit it better, etc. whatever this model is, somebody had to pose the thing again, unless they had the original pose somewhere in storage. so even though it looks exactly the same, internally it's more than likely not at all and had to go through almost the same amount of steps as the first time it was done.
Fun fact: Nintendo actually remade some old renders for Yoshi, Toad and Bowser for their website with Yoshi’s new render being a modernized version of his Mario Party 9 render and I believe they took that render and recolored it.

That is technically a new render. It's just INCREDIBLY similar to the old one. Look at the shoes and neck carefully and you can see it's technically new. Alongside lighting differences of course. (For the shoes just use transparency for one of the other since it's almost too hard to see normally)
There's very, very, very subtle differences, but that is, in fact, a new render. Just look at the shine on Yellow's shoes or tongue compared to the one on Green's.

Wii, which Yoshi is considered the P2 Yoshi? Yellow. Then why is it that in Yoshi's Wooly World THEY HAVE RED YOSHI AS P2, IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME. This character has been hated by Nintendo for years, and I'm tired of pretending he's not.

Tongue, scales, shell and shoes all have a more pronounced highlight. Shadows are also more detailed, most noticeably around the legs where the shading is more intense around the shoe cuff and the detailed thumb shadow on the hip. Same pose, perhaps even same base model, but definitely new render.
yellow yoshi actually died in a accident involving a car, roller skates and a duck, he was loved by everyone in the production team, mainly his best friend green yoshi, who knowing his best friend so much and how much he wanted to be in the game he decided to paint himself and act like him so in a way he could be in it
