Beautiful coach. Brian, do you have any insight on lithium batteries? I'm curious why manufacturers aren't converting from lead acid. I noticed that Newmar has switched to lithium on the King Aire, but that's about it. Lithium batteries seem to make much more sense....they're much lighter and you need far fewer of them. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you for your question Guy. This is certainly something we are looking in to! We are currently testing lithium batteries with the other electric components in our coaches. We also want to make sure our service infrastructure is ready for this change before it is made.
Do you have any plans for a rear emergency escape door? I love the Cornerstone but really want a rear door rather than diving out a window. We are buying a new coach this year and would love yours but will probably do a Newmar for the door.
Thank you for your suggestion Rick. The Entegra Coach design team has determined the front exit and the emergency window offer two exit options if needed by our coach owners. @@EntegraCoach I understand you already have 2 exits as the last 6 diesel pushers including my current American Coach has 2 but as I age and see others with an easier safer way out the rear the concept is a great one. Can you add one behind the rear toilet in a 45F Cornerstone if I ordered a 2021, I would pay more for it. Thank you!
Loving so many of the features, upgrades, and tech design! A couple things that make me scratch my head: The removable entry screen is awfully inconvenient. Why not make it a window-shade style (like on the competition)? Also, with all of the high-tech, automatic, and mechanical items, why is the window awning a manual pull? Very oddly low-tech.
Steve- Thank you for your questions! We were able to reach out to our product specialists and they offered some responses to your post. If we installed a shade type - it would not be sealed off from the exterior and thus would not keep out insects from the cabin/interior of the coach. We believe the Entegra Coach option provides the opportunity to enjoy fresh air without the pesky bugs! In regard to low-tech vs high-tech options. Certain products have options based on price points. The Anthem will not offer all of the features a Cornerstone will, and a Aspire will not offer all of the features an Anthem will. Having discussed the manual vs electric awning point you also referenced as a low-tech vs high-tech feature, the design team has used the electric door awning in past year models. They found it to be problematic as it failed to retract in windy conditions and thus, many were damaged due to a failure to sense the weather conditions adequately. The design team believes the present manual door awning offers a resilient third arm and strap functionality which ensured the awning be available for the owner at the location most needed --entering and exiting the coach.
I will absolutely share your comments and feedback to our product development team. We are always eager to review customer input and reevaluate our product features based on current demands in the market.
Entegra Coach Thank you for your reply, appreciate that. I didn’t do a good job explaining the screen. Our Dutch Star has a screen door that is 100% sealed. The screen is in a channel and retracts into a roller, “like a window shade”. Now, the screen opening on the Dutch Star is rectangular which make this possible. Since the Anthem is angled, that’ll be a challenge. As to the window awnings, I’m not sure how many are manual pull-down, but I’m assuming all of them are? I understand the price point issue; just caught me by surprise for the price level/class of the Anthem to have Manual Pull shades. Personally speaking as a “first time look” at the Anthem, I think it would have been less of a surprise if You showed me slide tray was MANUAL (instead of power), and the awnings were power. That’s an expense that I would gladly trade for power awnings. FYI, the Dutch Star has 3 window shades which are motorized; none of had problems with wind; not referring to the Girard, of course. Keep up the great work...looking forward to a personal tour of the Anthem!
