Great video! Is the pizza dining hall food included in the meal plan or do you pay extra? Thanks!
tysm for the comment :D and yes, it counts as a meal swipe to eat at the pizza dining hall!
Hello,
Thank you so much for that video. It is a great insight into what I can expect at Columbia (if I got admitted)😂🤓
Also… based on your experience:
Are there lots of international students that are not native English speakers? Is it hard for them to follow the class and take notes? I am really worrying about that.
I was also homeschooled almost entire high school and I am suffering from social anxiety (it is not very terrible but I have big troubles with speaking in front of others or participate in discussion based classes). Are students require to speak a lot? From this video I can infer that core curriculum classes are rather small so I wonder whether you are required to join the discussion?
Thanks in advance for answering those questions🫶 it would mean a lot.
hi tysm for watching :D to answer your q:
international students make up a big % of student population (maybe like 10-15%?) and many of them are not native english speakers. however, they are able to speak english fluently to a degree. i dunno how it is for them to take notes and listen in class, but i think if you are still worried, students are able to talk to professors for some kind of informal accommodation (like recording lectures and posting them, etc.) but i would encourage you to practice your english as much as possible b/c english is the linga franca and the university expects you to alr know it to some degree (that's why international students take english proficiency exam for admission)
also, for the speaking in front of others... you are expected to participate in discussion based classes to some degree. it depends on professor's participation policy (some can be chill and others rlly want you to talk) but your participation can affect your grade so yes: unfortunately it is expected for you talk a bit in class. not like every class session but maybe once in a week or something (unless noted by the professor otherwise).
i hope this helped. lmk if you have more q's! im happy to answer them :)
❤
Foods look so good❤
I really enjoyed the vlog, Keep Posting!
Heyy thanks a lot for your comment your support is much appreciated. And yes will keep posting as much as I can so please stay turned !! 😄😄
Hello, you made me very excited to study in Colombia. I loved it very much, especially when I went to the pre-college program in Barnard. I would like to apply for it. Can you review the essay? I will be grateful to you, have a nice dayyy,
hey, tysm for commenting and im glad you enjoyed my video! im rlly happy to hear you had a positive experience doing the barnard pre-college program - unfortunately, i don't offer services in essay or application review. thank you and i sincerely wish you the best of luck!
Can you go into depth on how you applied and what you think got you in? I’m an international student and would love to do my masters there
Hi! Video was so good! What was you academic results?
Amazing video! Loved the quality editing. I have a couple questions. What is campus life like, and what are you majoring in? Currently I am considering Columbia.
hi! thank you so much for your comment :D lets see, i'm majoring in sustainable development and i would say i really love campus life. there are so many passionate people which leads to so many niche clubs and groups (like if you like board games, there's a board game club, cooking, there are several food/cuisine clubs, identity clubs, etc... there's even a circus club i think lol) i also do admire our campus student protest initiative. it's been a hard semester because of what's happening around the world but students never stop protesting for things they believe in and while I don't believe it's unique b/c students of various uni's protest nationwide, it's a deep/inherent quality in columbia's campus/student life history that is very special and powerful
hi there l like the vid btw it was lit🔥🔥 nyc was my dream city since I was a kid I wanna live in nyc while I am being a doctor so if you dont mind can you do a review in the medical department and if I may ask how long will it take you to be a nephrologist??
I’m applying to Columbia University as a transfer student. I wanted to know how hard you would say the curriculum is?
Great video!! Sorry but what's the app you use to read Plato's book in you laptop?
thanks for your comment! and i don't use any specific app i just find and download online pdf versions of the books i need for class!
How do people enjoy sparkling water
xD dunno, they just do? also i actually didnt like it at first at all but for some reason kept having some before eventually liking it a while later so it takes some getting used to.
1:00 Are all classes lectured in a conference room? What is the honor for?
I have submitted my application for Columbia university last night. If i win Columbia university how many months will it take me to join the class of journalism?
Did u go to stuy?
If i have enough balls to make a portfolio i will apply to Columbia in 7 months
there's nothing to lose so definitely give it a shot!
what is the song by richard wagner called?
hmm i have no idea because this was the professor's playlist
@@yellow-cherry74 It is the prelude from Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde, one of the most influential pieces of classical music ever. I sure hope your professor told you why!

I have a degree in music and your footage of the music class made me miss uni lol (also completely agree ab Wagner, incredible music but horrible, horrible person). listening and discussing compositions was one of my fav things to do (outside of performing)
wow that's really amazing you have a degree in music I haven't met many who do. honestly, i kinda wish i had more proclivity for it b/c i had a really positive experience in this class and from my impression, it seems like music major classes feel more creative and discussion based (which i prefer) than any STEM-related major classes xD
@@yellow-cherry74 they definitely are! definitely more hands on and applied than the STEM classes I took (except for the lab components lol) and even some of the other arts classes I took. as difficult and personal as a fine arts degree is, it's truly beautiful to be surrounded by art and the discussion of art all day, every day haha
