The last credit lists Don Rickles, who later became the famous insult comic. ALL of his scenes were deleted BEFORE this episode aired. They neglected to remove his name from the credits
@@bh8365 : It bothered me too because I'm a big fan of his work. He did a lot of serious work over the years but it's very hard to find, especially on early tv shows. I got lucky and found the explanation of his scenes being cutm. Even though there was no mention of the credits it was the only thing that made sense

Most TV cop shows have been an hour lon;: this is one of the few that was only 30 min long (the only other examples I can think of are "HIghway Patrol", Dragnet" and "Adam 12"...though I'm sure there have been others). Watching this bodacious "blast from this past" has MADE my day, my week & my weekend !! CHEERS !! :-)

At the time I didn't even know his name.Living Southern Cal I saw a lot of movie and tv actors. Some were famous and some not so famous.In the town I live in now there were several movies made here. Met Kirsten Dunst when she was here to make a film. I got her autograph for my daughter.
And he was billed in the closing credits by his real first name, Michael Connors. Also, at 11:05--DeForest Kelley, later Dr. McCoy from "Star Trek". Plus, while the credits list also a Don Rickles in the supporting cast, he's not the insult comic. For there was another Don Rickles who worked as a staff announcer for many years at NBC-Burbank (since "M Squad" was originally on NBC, it fit right in). He appeared at the 0:54 mark reading a news bulletin on the episode's suspect, Pete Wilkowski. One other thing? Different theme music, which was the case during "M Squad's" first season on NBC; the next two seasons, it would use a more original piece by the legendary Count Basie. And when you think of "M Squad", you might also think of "Police Squad!".

After serving in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, he attended UCLA where he became an outstanding athlete. The movies and TV soon followed. A long life, prolific career and a real class act.

When I hear Lee Marvin narrating the M Squad episodes. He takes me right back, to my old neighbor hood. Especially, when, he mentions... Jackson Park and the Stoney Island District. When thi series was being filmed. I was a small kid living on 6834 S. Cornell.
Oh, my gosh. Where do I begin? A stop sign on a road with NO cross street???? Maybe it's a Bigfoot crossing? HEY! THAT's "Mannix"!!!!! Oh, I see one of the producer's big breasted GF as a curious town's person. Wow, it's "BONES" as a police detective!! It was only 8 years later that Forest was cast for Star Trek. In-between this (1959) and there he played 80 TV characters including two on this show. On one show, he wasn't even named as a character as he was just a guy in a line-up. He only had a very few parts of A LOT of TV shows but when ST came along he got 76 shows out of that in just 3 years. I wasn't till about 4 years after that he got a spot on ST animated. And then, in 1982 the ST motion picture craze began. I'd bet off that one beginning movie, he made more than all of his salary checks of all the many years of TV shows he'd done. And with 9 more movies, he was finally getting rich. He had a net worth of $5,000,000 at the time of his death. His main staple in TV was westerns.

Why is it that the best actors didn’t learn their craft in school but in life. How can someone teach you how to be yourself. Only you can and fortunately that’s for free. Anything they can teach you you can pick up a book and get the same instructions. So I guess the school is a way to pay their bills. I’ve never hear Lee Marvin or Robert Mitchum talked about in school. I guess because they never went to school and that wouldn’t look so good.

Even when Marvin bumps into furniture he does it gracefully, like a dance step.
