    Your format for review videos should be the industry standard . To the point, answers all the questions. Great video. I hope you make more.

    Nice review. I recently homebrewed something similar to the LNR look (remote tuning & all). Now to wait for decent weather to give it a real run through. Appreciate greatly your explanations of what & how on the LNR loop. Wish they were still available.

      Appears that LNR has discontinued this unit. PreciseRF now sells a similar unit: preciserf.com/shop/hg-1-wr-mla/

    Very good. I've just got an AlexLoop antenna, same model you mentioned on this video. Along with it I also got a little box called AlexTune that you clip to the antenna and it has a little LED light that goes up whenever you get optimum tuning. Not a remote tuning unite, but it is some welcome improvement.

    Excellent video, I am thinking of purchasing this unit and was very happy to see you have done a review on it. Your review on the LNR MTR-3B was instrumental in my recent purchase of it....and I love that little radio! Many thanks - VE1AJK

    Another great video, Michael, thanks. I wasn't aware of this product until seeing it here. Pricey but it looks well-made and loops can't be beat for compactness and low noise.

    Brilliant video. Good point about the remote tuning. Seeing the effect of your body near the antenna was quite something! I think when I eventually get around to building my own magloop, I'll do some sort of remote tuning. 73 de KE6MT

    I think aluminium stick is not a good option based on magnetic loop books and articles.

      Yury Krasouski Thats a really interesting point. Not sure what it does (if anything) to the radiation pattern or what effect having an isolated aluminium rod inside the loop might have. If you have any good references on the impact please add them here...I’d be interested to learn more.

    Too bad the LNR unit is no longer available. But preciseRF now produces one that just might be better. Not cheap but worth the cost. Also the YouKits analyzer works very well for this purpose. I use mine to tune all my antennas. There are fancier ones but the YouKits tells you what you need and sends out its signal in a continuous loop while tuning. Just tune until the dip is as low as possible. The other thing about a loop. They only work well when out in a large space. In doors and around any metal they are easily detuned. The Alex loop is much lighter but lacks the remote control.

      So, after following the links, I understand that this loop is no longer available, or am I wrong? TU, 73

    Hello,
    is the housing reinforced inside in the area of the mast mount? Will the housing be heavily stressed in this area when it is windy? Unfortunately the W4OP loop no longer exists. I ask because I now have to build myself;)

      Send me an email (my details are correct on QRZ) and I’ll try and find some internal photos of the tuning box to share with you.

    Do you know the rating of the variable capacitor? How many pF??

    • @g0pot
      @g0pot  6 лет назад

      As measured using a Peak LCR45...
      40 - 10m = 197pF - 7.7pF
      10/6m = 7.7pF - 4.1pF

    Can this be purchased in UK? Know any stockists? Thank you

    • @g0pot
      @g0pot  5 лет назад

      Kanga UK was considering stocking it but not sure if they reached an agreement with LNR Precision. Drop Dennis a line to check. Given the cost of these things this is definitely one of the best portable loops I've tried.
