HOLY SPIRIT 🙏🏾 thank you for leading this song in my RIGHT NOW SEASON!!! I have been on Mother Earth for 53years & NEVER EVER heard this song of praise to Our LORD AND SAVIOR 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I got this album when it first came out in 1984 and this was my favorite song on the album. Since then, i believe that this is one of THE GREATEST GOSPEL SONG EVER WRITTEN! Everything about this song is PERFECT! Music, lyrics, vocals, production & performance. This is probably my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG EVER!!! I can't even begin to express how much "I LOVE THIS SONG" it takes me to a heavenly place. And I myself am a songwriter, singer, and musician and i recognize a masterpiece song! "FLAWLESS"
Man what a nice album back in the day but then again it sounds just as good today! ANDRAE was tough and his songs untouchable!!! Now this sounds supa good!!!!
Thanks for this pad is uploaded on You Tube. I had this in LP, but can not find it again. Was in Larvik, (Concert) Norway in 1984, and heard on A. Chrouch. Talked to Bill Maxwell, and they invited into the restaurant in Oslo, where I worked as a butler. I was in the bus with Tata Vega, bill, Sandra & Andrae, "Tuffy" and the other musicians. Good memories from 1984, when they had concerts in Norway and Scandinavia. Again thanks for the "NO TIME TO LOSE" music :)
You have NO idea how much finding this means to me!! I LOVE this song and was unable to find it ANYWHERE!!! My lp is simply too scratched up to listen to!! Thank you! :)
This song has been ringing in my ears for the past two days, so I just had to listen to it. My sister had the tape and I practically wore it out. That was some good music back then.
Thanks for uploading. Anyone know the CREDITS on this song? Sounds like Linda McCrary singing. Sounds like Abraham Laboriel on bass (Andew Gouché also played on this album).
Hey again Nathaniel Jordan. This is what the Holy Spirit instructed me to tell you: "This song (the lyrics) comes directly from Matthew 8:20 and Luke 9:58*. In Matthew 8:20, Jesus was responding to a scribe who said to Him, "Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest" (verse 19). Jesus' response ... "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head" (verse 20). In these lyrics, however, songwriter Andrae Crouch presents Jesus from the other perspective. That is, since the Son of Man - who was 100% flesh/man like we are, but yet 100% God - had no place to lay His head; we, the followers, and lovers, and worshippers of Our Lord Jesus Christ, may desire to have Him lay his head on us because wherever Jesus is, is victory, life, resurrection, rest, forgiveness, hope, peace, love, power, etc - all the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). AND ... the lyrics express our way of dressing/clothing ourselves (by faith) in the holiness, love and compassion of God, by wanting to serve our Master (Jesus) offering ourselves as a place where He may find rest and have His home in us." The Holy Spirit may give you an even deeper understanding of this song and its corresponding scriptures IF you ask Him. He is good and faithful like that. Psalm 119:130 ... "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." Blessings to you in Christ Jesus our Lord and soon coming King of kings! Arlette McNeill P.S. To get a better context of these scriptures, you may read Matthew 8: 19-23 and Luke 9:57-62.
@@nathanieljordan6144. Gotcha. Thanks for responding. Yes!! That was the beauty of the Holy Spirit working through Andrae Crouch (and his sister Sandra). He'd write songs in either a way we never saw the Lord, or understood the Lord Jesus , or the Word before. Or, he'd write them saying something we always wanted to say, or something we knew, yet bringing out a deeper truth about the Father. (For example, the song "Sweet Communion" has several layers of meaning to it.) Indeed, the perspective in this song is unique and fitting to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I like the the 2nd verse too. It re-tells the account of Mary who bought her alabaster box of perfume, washed Jesus' feet with her tears, wiped them w/ her hair, and anointed them w/ the perfume. I find this verse quite like poetry. Anyways, the Lord Jesus bless you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11-12). 'Till He comes.
