I'm still wrapping my head around the first one being 20 years ago
I know right
I'm just here waiting for Nigel's revenge
Nah I think Nigel isn't the revenge type of person. More like I want to see justice and benefit for him.
@jyusatsu I certainly hope he gets in this film, but 20 years is a very long time to have waited!!
I'm so delighted that Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are all reprising their roles, 20 years later. It's like welcoming back old friends.
Love all 4 of them?!
Agree!! I don’t think a part 2 would work without ANY of them!! All 4 make the movie!
Even more than that. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are siblings in-law IRL.
I hope that Gisele Bündchen makes another appearance in this film!
I’m so glad these icons all came back!! 20 years later and they all look the exact same totally fabulous
Nostalgia movies can be a blast if done right. I'm glad they waited, but I'm also glad they didn't wait any longer.
"Kept those eyebrows didn't you?" That wasnt a Barb, that was a friggin Scythe 😂
Only Emily Blunt can talk like that.😅😅😅 she is so funny.
Emily may have aimed for the wrong target. Andy may be a much more formidable opponent than she realized...
And you're still as vacuous and vapid as ever.
Can't wait for all the shady lines
When Miranda forgot Andy I presume it was similar to Miranda needing an Emily to memorize the guest lists. If Miranda can’t remember Dukes and duchesses or heads of other companies and their wives, my assumption is she wouldn’t remember menial employees from 20 years ago. Even if she bonded with Andy in her own way I just think it’s showing how big and important Miranda is and how small Andy was in the pool of sharks that was called Runway Magazine
Right! It'll be funny to see how that develops.
The call out to Nate is just diabolical, but needed. Bro was dreaming to be a chef yet couldn't even get grilled cheese right.
It made far more sense in the book, where he was a primary school teacher, so his hours were totally different and his job was more responsible. It made Andy come across as more of a jerk though, which is probably why they changed it.
Nigel as Miranda's caregiver and health assistant, as he leads her around and reminds her of what she forgets. Sounds glamorous.
He’s the new Emily
He was her original Emily, Mr Emily, if you will.
I've never been this earlyyyyy. I think, 'The Devil STILL wears Prada' which I read somewhere, is a better fitting title.
That or
The Devil wears Prada 2: Electric Boogaloo
The original sequel novel was called Revenge wears Prada. This is because in those novels the devil = Miranda and revenge = Emily. This is a subtle nod to how Emily now seems to have followed Miranda's footsteps even having 2 emilies of her own.
@kyoken8691 So who would be getting revenge??
Okay Mr. Hollywood!
it just popped into my head how ironic it would be if the reason for Miranda's memory loss is she fell and smacked her head on the pavement lol
Brilliant!
Smacked her *little head on the pavement
"Smacked her little head on the pavement."
The carpet is cerulean!
There was no carpet in the narrators recording session
@harry_jms 1:30
RIP VALENTINO. 😢
😮 I didn't know he'd died!!
He might be a cameo again
I wonder if they had a private showing for him (of the film) before he passed away .
Great catch on the Spring Florals banners! I did not notice that! 😆
Not only is that (cathedral in the city background) definitely Duomo di Milano, but the large indoor open space you see Miranda standing alone (wearing the iridescent dress) in is actually the Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II, a large shopping space just off of the square that Duomo di Milano is located on (neither one is technically in the Milan Fashion District, but they're also not too far away, and many fashion houses have stores there... in fact I think Prada has a coffee shop)...
Yes, Prada has both a boutique and the Pasticceria Marchesi within the Galleria. I sort of "part-time" live in Milano, so I know the place like the back of my hand, and I even happened to be there right when they were filming in October 2025. The district of Brera was partially closed down to allow for comfortable filming at the time. They then moved production to Tremezzina on Lake Como (where I have a summer house closeby). I was super annoyed that I was in BOTH places when they were there, but was so occupied with work that I couldn´t really go take a peek! ☺
Milan to me is the true fashion capital. Aside from the big brands they got so many other small ateliers over there and wow the italian craftmanship on every piece on every store is just top notch 😊❤
@tca666 I was able to book a tour during Apriti Moda back in October 2025, and got to see every nook and cranny of the little boutique & atelier of Cilento 1780. Absolutely divine! The way they handcraft and tailor each and every suit and button down shirt is just outstanding.
Beautiful!
The first Miranda Priestly wouldn’t approve of their outfits in this sequel.
I was Andy when the first movie came out. Now I’m the Miranda - at least, that’s probably how my subordinates see me. Funny how it all comes full circle. Here’s hoping the narrative does that arc justice.
The "do I know her" when she knows her very well because she was very impressed when she arranged the copies of the latest Harry Potter book for her girls. And made sure she got one copy too. That was something Miranda would never forget. And the "where was I" is like a clear: I want to forget that part of my life when she had an argue with her man and got divorced and Andy saw it happening....
Why do I feel like Emily is going be the antagonist in this movie? Like she’s gonna take down Runway
That would be the plot of 30 Going On 13.
“Andy always finds a well placed prop when she’s in her feelings”
For a minute there, I thought you meant Christian…
Haha, this comment made me realize she DIDN'T mean Christian
I thought the same thing!
Miranda knows who Andie is, she's just acting like she doesn't, doesn't want Andie to think she was important to Miranda.
We'll find out!
I am just happy they did not use the second book as the source material 🙏
Of course it is Milan! There's a shot of Miranda, alone and worried at the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel II!
When Miranda comments on Andy being features editor (and we’re so thrilled…), it reminded me of her insincere comment to Jacqueline Follet about being “so thrilled you rearranged your schedule to attend”.
Yes, same in the insincere way. I noticed too.
"Please.... I plan my whooooole year around this!"
"And we´re so.... grateful... that you do."
🤣
@Aqua23-ammg You wrote that so perfectly that I could hear it in my head! 😂😂😂
@aic0809 😆 thanks!
The "fashion has become a self-referential loop" is probably the intention, given that this is a two-decades-after-the-fact sequel and complaints about sequels, reboots, remakes abound. I don't think it's going to hit viewers over the head with the meta commentary but I also think it's very purposefully there to support the main narrative.
Can't wait for this film to be released.
Miranda is a psycho. Of course she knows who Andi is. I can’t get over how much they all look exactly the same!
Andy's first pinstripe suit is a callback to Miranda's from the editorials scene.
Im totally seeing Emily as the new Miranda
She is. Even the black and white outfit is very much a callback to Miranda´s power dressing in the original film. The trailer also already gave away the scene where she sits in the limo with black glasses on, stern face, and she lowers the automatic window to look outside. That´s a sort of reversal and at the same time kind of callback to the ending of Prada 1, when Miranda gets inside her limo with the dark glasses on, after having stared at Andy but not smiling back at her.
@Aqua23-ammg thats what i thought so, its giving alot of CEO vibes with Emily. Love it tho, cant wait to see what the movie brings
Not to mention that Emily now has two "Emilys" of hr own.
@Aqua23-ammg what i dont understand, IF emily wouldve taken mirandas role and miranda wouldve stepped back, then at least emily wouldve been informed about andy being the new features editor, but she herself also had no idea and she doesnt strike me as someone who would be as surprised by the news as she was, when she most likely wouldve had a hand in the decision of hiring her. it feels like emily took over in some form for active planning and decisions to have a bigger role than being the assistant, most likely in management now. but shes not sitting in the boss chair yet. it does feel like miranda took a step back though. she might still hold her position but is more being used as the representative face rather than the person she once was during meetings. plus we have to remember, miranda is not the ceo. she was chief editor and through her connection to designers and models and having the last say in what goes into the magazine, her opinion mattered. but shes not the boss of runway. as new features editor, andy went to say hi to miranda since they will have meetings together what goes into the magazine. you could also call her the new "florals" girl, since we dont know what her position was. emiliy on the other hand could be anywhere in any position.
My dad and I went to see this. There were times I dragged him to movies he wasn't interested in and there were times he dragged me to movies I wasn't interested in, but having grown up on a steady diet of things like Never Been Kissed, Simply Irresistible, Just Like Heaven, Sweet Home Alabama, and the Queen - Notting Hill - it also wasn't super out of character. I remember enjoying it casually as a teen but that was it.
Cut to The Year Of Which We Do Not Speak (2020) and cinemas (that were open) were screening "old" films to make up for the lack of new releases, and my father and I - surprise - went to see Devil Wears Prada again (sidenote, just before lockdowns, I got uniforms and documentation for my assistance dog, and she fell asleep during this film so much so that I heard her snoring!). Cut to 14 years after the first viewing and picking up on the nuances of the interactions between characters, and fully understanding Andi's arc. It's genuinely a coming of age film, but not for teenagers, for adults.
So I'm so excited that the focus seems to be on Andi's confidence, but I hope the story is focusing on Miranda ageing out of relevance. I hope this doesn't invert their roles completely - if Andi becomes a bitch there's gonna be hell to pay. There's no reason to make her antagonistic, which is what makes the reveals in the trailer so juicy. The one person who outsmarted Miranda who Miranda needed abandoned her and is now the sole person who can "save" Runway Magazine, and thus save Miranda. Miranda is going to get 👏HUM👏BLED👏. We love to see it.
I think for Andi to replace Miranda, there'd have to be some backstory that she dove head-first into the high fashion world post move #1. Miranda devoted her entire life to it. But Andi left the first movie to work at a "Village Voice" type publication. It will either be Emily or Nigel (if it comes to Miranda stepping back.)
There are two scenes where the carpet is cerulean. The banners in the first scene are also cerulean
Cerulean is everywhere in this trailer. Even on the helicopter stripes.
@monicah5648 Yes, I was waiting for the video to mention this!
And the dress when she swings around the lamp post.
All these talks about Miranda pretending to forget Andy or it is SOOO Miranda that she forgets all her PAs are so funny to me. Isn't it a subtle hint that the reason why they need Andy to help Runway is because Miranda is not the same as she used to? She might have memory loss now. Lol
Can’t wait to see the new movie
Miranda always had problems to remember names and faces, that's why the girls needed to sudy that info previous the parties.
How many times have I said to my child as we're trying to leave for school "by all means, move at a glacial pace..."😆
I feel emotional right now watching this it remind me when i was working in big city liveng alone sleep go to work and so on...
Hugs Baby 😘😘
Please don’t bring back Andie’s awful friends either! Lol😅
Vogue. This movie is that song and vice versa. Period.
There are some stories that only need one movie, and The Devil Wears Prada is one of them. I love it but I don’t think we needed a sequel, the first one was effortlessly iconic, this one doesn’t look that way. Let’s wait to May 1st to see the final result.
They show the best in the trailer but it dint excite me unfortunately.. 😮😮
A couple of additions: I don't think it's accidental that the shoes are 2010, the theme of the gala is Spring Florals, and she wears a red dress to it that looks very close to the one she rejected as being ugly in the first movie. They're trying to show Miranda has lost touch with the times. Also, they're dressing her in suits that are slightly too big, giving her hair that is slightly too flat, and in boring grays and neutrals. They are making her look deflated, shrunken even. And maybe I'm just too old to remember what Grace Mirabella looked like when she ran Vogue, but the criticisms of her were that she was behind the times, too safe, and always in neutrals.
Very Very great epic list I like it a lot Very Very great job mismojo one of my favorite list ever 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I can't wait
I also saw that when Emily said “We were at Runway at the same time Miranda” she almost scoffed in a way and shook her head slightly which emphasizes in my opinion the leveling of power to where she can almost call out Miranda’s tendencies without fear of repercussions and also seems to show some built up resentment that she hasn’t fully expressed.
Can't wait to see this movie. My only real surprise from the trailer was that Emily didn't attempt the same "Do I know you?" when she saw Andy, that Miranda did.
RIP Sir Valentino Garavani.
I feel Emily’s dig at her eyebrows is a call back to Anne Hathaway’s first ‘make over movie’ and her reluctance to take the initial role in the devil wears Prada out of fear of being typecast.
If Brooke Shields married Graucho Marx that child would have your eyebrows… 😂
Bold of you to assume we've missed any of these 👀🎉😜
It’s definitely Milan and also Lake Como 👍🏼
😘😘
I'm here for the amazing lines...."look what TJ Maxx brought in" I can't wait for this movie
Cerulian Carpet and Florals :-)
Omg fashion is what you make it personality which ever you choose have you’re heart in it fashion reflects you’re personality that my dears is wisdom to remember all else is fake
Anxious to see this!
Devil wears Prada is the OG script/screenplay Guru of Cruella 😉 💯
The only thing I missed when I watched the trailer, was seeing a good movie.
Please don’t be just full of fan service, please have a script, please don’t be a flop.
Valentino Garavani , Yves Saint Laurent , Marc Jacobs, Olivier Theyskens , Carolina Herrera and André Leon Talley all made a cameo in the original film.
after they foolishly chose NOT to appear in a little movie about fashion, lmao. Then that little movie becoming one of THE most iconic movies of ALL time you know the designers were crawling out of the woodwork begging to be allowed a cameo or shout out. Oh the sweet revenge of the poor rejected, not good enough movie blew audiences out of the water, became the meme goto for almost everything. Looking forward to it.
Talley? ah, not according to my info. André Leon Talley will not be appearing in The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026). The legendary Vogue editor passed away on January 18, 2022, and there have been no announcements regarding the use of archival footage or digital likeness for a cameo.
While Talley is absent, the sequel is leaning heavily into real-world fashion icons to fill the void:
Confirmed Cameos: Lady Gaga was recently spotted filming scenes in Milan, and Donatella Versace is also slated to appear as herself.
New Cast Members: The sequel adds Sydney Sweeney, Lucy Liu, and Kenneth Branagh (playing Miranda Priestly's husband) to the star-studded lineup.
Returning Stars: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all officially reprising their roles.
@pm5057I was referring to the original film.
So excited for this movie.
I'm so excited to go to the movies again...
Can’t wait for this to come back May 1 I’m gonna see it
Exciting background theme songs.
Such a delight, I can’t wait ❤❤❤❤
Time to get you’re added in there and pay respect to the old dinosaurs if fashion reos
The trailer makes it look like Miranda has dementia
No she's a narcissist. She pretends not to remember Andy or Emily, cause they're beneath her in her view 😂
It's a call back to Anna Wintour claiming to not remember Lauren Weisberger who wrote the Devil Wears Prada book and who was an assistant of Anna.
@9@91clariehe doesn’t come across as being sarcastic or patronizing though, she comes across as being genuinely confused in that scene.
Nope. It's a narcissist power move.
@ashleyminihan370 Nope! It’s dementia!
I'm excited to see the next chapter of this story. Will there be more than one (if any) real-life designers making cameos in this picture? Who's Andrea's new boo? Will Miranda finally do right by Nigel? What name DOES Emily call her assistants?
However, I am wondering if cognitive decline will be a sub-theme in this movie. I don't know if I believe that Miranda's seeming memory lapse re Andy is actually a power move - or a portent of something darker. Then again, this comment is from someone who's mother and grandmother both succumbed to dementias...
She is the type to do a power move especially when Andy left her the way she did
I think Miranda is both pretending to forget and truly forgetting, like early onset dementia. It would only make sense with her shoes out of date and the florals for spring gala.
Well the detail about her not remember ing Andy was to the real Anna wintour…the person who wrote the book said in an interview she actually forgot an assistant 😅😅😅
I absolutely noticed something obvious. The two Emily’s are wearing black in the trailer and Miranda is wearing grays and light brown cream tone suits. All of this represents kind of an idealized, very safe and sanitized future but also maybe be implying aging with grace. Not remembering Andy is probably her defense mechanism of how she moved on and completely shut her out and forgot about her in the last scene of Devil wears Prada. I think that without trying to predict plot points this is important to note because Miranda will have to remember some of the details of the first movie to be able to deliver whatever she needs to deliver outside of her new comfort zone. The rules are reversed, and unfortunately, they will have to learn from each other.
Also, I wanna point out the French lady in the first movie and how business was done on the back end. It is also possible that the sequel deals with some kind of merger or acquisition or uncontrollable shifts in power that they have to adapt to.
I noticed everything!
"that's all" 😂💜
Can't wait love this movie
Andi’s previous partner didn’t have a problem with her having a job, he had a problem of how it affected her personality and the fact her job completely took over her life. Their values were no longer the same. Which Andi came to later recognize herself.
Hi does anyone think anything about the red dress in the new movie trailer and how it is like the classic pursing of the lips scene for a fairly similar red dress?
because based on Vogue Magazine US world specifically Anna Wintour
The “That’s all” at the end of this vid was very AI.
We can only hope for Mirandy 🤞
It looks as if Miranda has a memory problem, so I wonder if getting the 'gang' back together is an attempt to help her...
I think that Miranda is now a figurehead who’s battling dementia and Emily is the new Miranda.
3:44 🤣🤣🤣
Didn't Miranda see something of herself in Andy, that she had developed a sense of style and a will to go her own way? Wasn't that the quality that made her top in haute couture, both feared and respected?
Miranda knows exactly who she is, and, plot twist requested that she come back (but no one knows, and she's pretending she doesn't know who she is).
So 20 years later and nothing has changed?! So Anne character being a serious journalist was bullshit?
at the end she says she's the new features editor
I always loved the pretty woman vibes in number 10
Emily is wearing a more jovial look - compared to Andrea's mature looking suit - this might be a signal that Emily is attached with the glories of the past and Andrea with the reality of the present.
I wonder if the twins will make an appearance.
They´d be 31 years old now, living their own lives away from mom... I don´t think they´re required for the story.
Baby Emily is the new Miranda wowww!
How does Meryl Streep look better than she did in the first film???
Vintage is in darling
Madonna. That's Madonna behind the car window
That’s definitely Milan, and Miranda’s in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (where I bought a gorgeous red epi LV bag years ago 😊)
How would anyone miss #10?
Can't wait to briefly escape the hellhole that this planet has become for these 90-120min, this is exactly what we need 🙏🙏🙏
how strange, why would andy return to her ex job? it doesnt have sense but since it is a movie, yes, it does. wow, emily blunt has lot of appearance this year, there's the other movie about aliens :O
It´s not really her ex job though, just the company where she had a brief stint as an underling two decades ago and wasn´t allowed to write or to edit. Now she´s an actual Features Editor there, not the personal assistant of the Editor in Chief. Since journalism had always been her choice of career and she followed that, why not return to a succesful international and high paying print & digital media company you used to know, but now a lot more powerful than back in the day?
Seems like no character growth at all for Miranda
這電影很棒
I hope your multi layered take on this trailer pays off…😅
But still Emily looks like Emily! No boss vibe from her!
Emily was already "bossy", mean and petty as an assistant, so what more boss vibes does she need now..? 😆
@Aqua23-ammgDunno! Still she seems like the old underconfident Emily
Ugh! We need another one? A fashion show at these days? Who's trying to revamp her career, Hathaway?
I wonder for Harry Potter's reference 😅
the dior shirt on emily is a bit awkward, is like pumping out
Anne H and madam Merryl 😉❤😉 (, honestly, the dumb one is that emily 😂 , i dont know that one , 😂 she fit the role 😂🙃) , this 2 are 🌟 🌟 , and that designer , absolutely acting of all
Hello 🤗
They should have had Madonna make a cameo
