    What do you think of the transgo TF3 kit , manual shifting but variable line pressure regulated by the kickdown lever and throttle position. Great videos, thank you. you

    • @Duster_Garage

      I don’t have any experience with the tf3. I would assume it’s a great kit like all transgo products. I loved the tf2 kit. Great bang for your buck.

      It was the OG manual valve body. It’s a great VB for the day but there has been better ones that have come out.

    Neat stuff. I’ve probably asked you this before, but is that a low gear 904?

      @Duster_Garage 7 месяцев назад

      Yes sir. I got the low gear set out of an 80s 904 from the junkyard.

    Awesome build! I like to use a cast/rigid kickdown band, especially in 727s, to get a quicker release on the shift to 3rd. Makes a noticeable difference on 47/48RE diesel transmissions as well!

    • @Duster_Garage
      @Duster_Garage 7 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a good point. I don’t hear people talk about the benefits of the rigid 2nd gear band. Thanks for sharing your input and experience.

      @@Duster_Garage I save old band cores and send them to "Alabama Bands" and have them relined with red HP material.

      @@rodneybyrd9516that’s cool. Cope buys old band cores to get relined. I wonder if that’s who he gets to do it.

    Yes, I hope you reply to me. I'm in Canada, I have a 1971 340. It's all original and I'm tearing it apart to freshen it all up, it's been sitting for quite a Will. I took the pistons out. It's got stock rings and It's got like a funny top ring, it's got like a 2 ring system In the top ring. What I was reading and looking at? Only 3 40s had them from 68 to 73. Do I have to use them rings? Or can I go with different kind of rings . I really like all your videos.??????

    • @Duster_Garage
      @Duster_Garage 6 месяцев назад

      I would say you can probably use a standard top ring. But I’m not 100% certain on that. My 340 in my white Duster has .030 over pistons so its regular rings. Same with my dad’s ‘68 Barracuda. I would check with Mancini racing or Hughes Engine to see what rings they recommend. I hope this helps.

      This Motor Was put away for 35 years. I got between the Cylinder wall and the piston Skirt two thousand clearance. The Whole motor Inside look like New. I really appreciate you talking to Me.

      No problem. I’ve actually never had a 340 apart that didn’t already have replacement pistons.
