Because trade, was then shifted to southerǹ coast , thus robbing them of access to global markets, keep in mind the global trade was now increasingly in the hands of emerging western powers, this was one of the reasons of the Moroccan invasion in the first place..

Me too, bro. Despite me being FBA, I love my Songhai ancestors. I carry on a unique legacy. FBA all the way, everyday🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼!!!!! Akin.
Thanks for doing a report of post Songhai conquest, it is clear that if traders from Europe hadn't started the southern coastal trade, there is every chance that they could've reclaimed their past glories.
How so?
Because trade, was then shifted to southerǹ coast , thus robbing them of access to global markets, keep in mind the global trade was now increasingly in the hands of emerging western powers, this was one of the reasons of the Moroccan invasion in the first place..
This is just another reason why one should not view medieval Africa though a Pan-African lens.
What do you mean ?
No disrespect, but I meant just what I said ,brother. Pretty much I am just stating that outside of certain empires, Africa was too big and too diverse to all be united. Peace.
@@MrMetro-mt5qv yea l agree but it still possesses to United Africa, not as one country but through real trade and Real solidarity to each other but all real African presidents were Assassinated because of this.
depends on the kind of Pan-Africanism. Some Pan-Africans don't want Africa to become a single country but merely a close-knit, highly integrated union.
The latter is plausible and sustainable, while the one country model is less plausible and inherently unsustainable if achieved, because of the diversity you're highlighting.
@AKATA MILITANT no. Africa needs to be one family but not one country. What I mean is that Africa is way to big and diverse to be one country. Tribalism would always get in the way, because there would always be a majority and a minority. What Africa needs to do is to have one another’s back and be our brother’s and sister’s keeper. One Africa would never work
The illustration is fantastic.❤️❤️❤️❤️🇳🇬🇳🇬
Thanks for this disclosure. The point in time was perhaps when the European Colonizers of the Caribbean were on trek engaging in the transatlantic slave trades to the south. With the excursions of the Songhai resistance to the north against the weaponry of the Morocco's invasion, it's of a profound wonder if the intermediate ethnic groups to the outskirts were accessed to the news and passing such messages to others to the south. Or everything was isolated by forestation and others involved in own conflicts of resistance in an era span with adventures and misadventures in pursuit of power.

Hard to maintain a puppet regime (or downright integrate it into the empire) when it's so far away.
