What I'm thinking may have happened is that Astro and Orpheus used to be lovers, but their relationship ended when Orpheus became a fallen angel (or demon?) and was cast out from the sanctuary the two lived in. Maybe Orpheus, after being damned from their home and their lover, developed a vengeance against the rulers of that place for sending him away.
However, when Orpheus reunites with Astro, they try to get Astro in on a plan to take out the rulers of such a heavenly, yet corrupt (at least in Orpheus' eyes) place, unknowing that Astro is now one of the rulers. Hence the fight begins.
