Illegal sanctions have destroyed that country. Just like how the native Americans and aboriginal Australians were also destroyed. They also were treated like 2nd class citizens in their own countries. Beaten into submission by brutal superior armies and weapons. Was it fair? Was it justified? Was it honourable? Were those countries renumerated for their exploitation? No ex colonial country is allowed to thrive for it would be a bad example to others who have attained independence through rebellion and persistent violent uprising and not by a democratic process. (which is always the first right they take from native peoples) Zimbabwe today needs a new political process, let’s hope they choose the Chinese model as opposed to the European model that fails them at every turn because it was made to keep ‘old money’ in power.
