    Excellent video! You said in fifteen minutes what others do not cover in twice the time. I could find nothing in your video to argue with...it was spot on! I had no luck finding Egyptian pounds in the US and had to wait until Cairo. First time visitors should consider guided tours. Summers are extremely hot while winter is much more tolerable. Between smog, burning rice fields, and sand in the air, there will be lots of coughing and it is not necessarily covid. Work with one vendor and you will be descended upon by dozens of vendors; if you have a guide, ask them for suggestions for souvenirs. You can purchase pounds through ATM's, but euros and dollars are widely accepted. Use credit cards only at big, established businesses. Security is everywhere...usually on their cellphones, but there is so much of it, you will be safe.

    Thank you for the great video. Do you have any information for COVID 19 restrictions is the county?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      Thank you for passing by... 🙏
      Inside Egypt there is not much of restrictions. Ideally you should ware musk in all public places. But almost no one is following that.
      The entry requirement is tricky and depends a lot on your situation and the country you would travel from. I would recommend you call your airline and get an understanding. We visited from Switzerland and at that time the rule was; valid COVID vaccination certificate or PCR test within 72 (and for some destinations 92 hours). Kids under 16 could enter without COVID certificate or PCR test. But travellers from South Africa were not allowed and some other countries had requirement for quarantine.
      But these rules change frequently, so better you check with the airline who normally always keep the most up to date information. We went with Egyptair and I called them few days before the flight and got everything clarified.

    Thank you for sharing this highly informative video. Helped me greatly with my upcoming travel plans. Just a few questions:
    1. How many days did it take for the Egypt tourist visa to arrive.
    2. Do we have to select our tour guide before we leave India. Trust we can do this from the hotel where we plan to stay.
    3. How much approximately would u have saved by planning on your own vs going with a tour package
    4. I read that travel in groups is safer in Egypt, hence people prefer a tour package. What has been ur experience

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад +1

      Thank you… 🙏
      Glad that it helped you.
      Now answering your questions.
      1. I normally apply for VISA at least 6 to 8 weeks before the travel after some bad experiences with Egypt, Morocco and Turkey embassy.
      2. Not really. You don’t really need a guide to visit Egypt. You will need a transportation and you can arrange that by contacting the guides I have used or find some from google. Unless you really want to spend lots of time learning nitty gritty details about different historical monuments; a guide will not be needed. But we recommend to have a guide in Cairo. Booking with hotel will be more expensive as the hotel will take some commission from it. Rather do the booking yourselves.
      3. It is tough to say an exact number. But based on quotations I have received in my first visit; the same trip of mine would have costed me at least 30% more with a travel agent.
      4. Travel in group is safer in Egypt is more of an European myth. Egypt is as safe as any other big places. Apply your common sense the same way you apply in all other places and you will have no trouble. In my 3 trips; I never felt unsafe in Egypt and if you see my travel videos you can understand that I was in different places at a very strange time when there were no one else around. If there was problems; I would have encountered it at least ones in all those odd time visits!

      @AMPhotography  Год назад

      Thank you for passing by… 🙏
      During our second visit to Egypt our son was only 11 months old.
      Nothing special about visiting Egypt with kids than other places.
      Carry a baby sac. That is the most convenient way. Not every places specially the temples are stroller friendly.
      We always boiled water for him even if it is bottled mineral water.
      Carried some backed food for emergencies.
      Avoided travelling during afternoons. Rather visited early morning and late evening.
      Protected him from direct sun light with a cap or scarf.
      It was great fun and that time we only spend one night in the desert. I wouldn’t recommend spending too many nights in the desert with a little baby as there is no phone connection or health center. So it is a bit risky.
      In general you wouldn’t have any problems and will have lots of fun with your little one.

    What about other restrictions like hotels, restaurants, museums outdoor and indoors during your last visit?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад +1

      Everything was open. There is no closure for COVID in Egypt.
      As I said before, ideally there are requirement of mask indoor and the hotel and restaurant employees as well as most of the tourists are following them. But locals are not. Except tourists almost no one else is waring mask outside. All in all, you wouldn't even know that there is some COVID crisis going on around the world if you visit Egypt.
      It is sometime a bit scary, but as long as you keep yourselves protected; I felt it was all right.

      We applied for a tourist VISA at the local Egyptian consolate. It is better that way and you can enter Egypt without any stress. For the VISA you have no need of any guarantee. You need to normally show your bank statement, return ticket, hotel booking etc.
      Now this changes between the locations you would make the application from. So better you call the local Egyptian consolate and get the related information.
      You can normally find the details with simple google search.

    Hi there. Very informative. I am planning for a 2 weeks stay at Egypt and would like to explore in and out. Did you say 30 usd for Sim? Will Sim not be cheaper in Cairo?
    Also can't we use egyptian pounds or end up paying everything in usd..
    Instead of using private cars will we not get government buses to visit Abu simbel or other places within Egypt?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      Thank you for passing by… 🙏
      There are different prices of SIM. We took one that has enough internet connection (10 GB) as I do a lots of research on the spot and didn’t want to take the pain of recharge. The price of SIM will be same at the airport of in the city.
      Yes you can use Egyptian Pound for several things. But based on my reading foreigners need to pay foreign currency in most of the tourist attractions.
      I am not aware of any public bus going to Abu Simbel. But you definitely can take one of the tourist buses; which is way cheaper.
      For other places if you mean the sites of Luxor and Aswan; you also can do a guided bus tour which will be cheeper.
      We did it privately as we wanted to have that epic lonely experience in most of those places and there is no other way that arranging your own transportation.
      It will be cheap if you go with tour bus; but you will share the place with 100s others.
      I can’t tell about local buses as I did no research on taking local bus in Egypt.

      I took a proper stamp in the passport from the Egyptian consolate. If you have an Indian passport; there is not much information on eVisa. The eVisa is only when you go there with a recognized travel agent as the travel agent take all the guaranty and paper work. I will recommend to go and get a VISA from your local Egyptian consolate to avoid problems. Or go with a proper travel agent.

    While planning our visit to Egypt we came across this video which has been compiled in a wonderful manner. We are planning to go to Abu Simbel and were wondering whether we will need a guide. From your description it seems like you only booked a car and driver to go there. How did you book your tickets for Abu Simbel? Was a guide not necessary? How did you gather the information that the guide would have provided? We would like to travel independently as much as possible.

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  Год назад

      Thank you for passing by… 🙏
      The history is there in the wiki and we did some reading. Other tool was a book from Lonely Planet. The ticket counter is next to the the gate, so just walk there and get the ticket. As we stayed there a night and went during times when no one else was there; we had no queue or hurry. But we had a big advantage as it was our 3rd visit. Being said that; I love independent travelling as that gives me more thrill as well as freedom. In my first time also I went there without any guide.
      In short; you don’t really need a guide. But I know a lots of people feel comfortable having local knowledge handy. It is just a feeling of assurance. Very personal preference. I like to be a bit more adventurous.

      In most of the places if will be allowed with an additional fee. Except few places like inside the tombs you will not be able to take the tripod. They are normally not that concerned about photography with phone. They get more nervous if they see larger cameras.

    How many days do we need to see the important places.?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      It depends a bit. We have spend 2 weeks there and we felt it was good to explore all the places without too much hurry.
      However; you can always push it within a week. Eg.
      Day 1 - Reach Cairo
      Day 2 - Cairo
      Day 3 - Cairo to Luxor early morning flight and visit Luxor in a day (skip Edhu and Dhandera)
      Day 4 - Luxor to Aswan ans visit Aswan
      Day 5 - Aswan to Abu Simbel ans back to Aswan
      Day 6 - Aswan to Cairo and depending on your return flight time on the same day you can leave Egypt or the next day.
      But it will really be a hectic trip. However it is possible.

    Hi.... this is Avik from Kolkata
    Great video with lots of informations... would you please tell me which SBI bank debit card i have to carry to make ATM money transaction in abroad or in Egypt

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      Hi Avik, Thank you for passing by. 🙏
      I can’t tell how exactly SBI card would work as I never used it myself. However if it is an international card; there is no reason of this being not working. But do keep more than one option to male sure that you have redundancy. And carry at least 50% of your budget in USD cash. That way you are pretty safe. If the card is operated by VISA or MasterCard and has foreign transaction enabled; it should be all right. Check with your bank. And make a test as soon as you land in Egypt.

    Can I go to Aswan from Cairo in a day train?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      Thank you for passing by… 🙏
      Yes you can if you have a day to spend. But Egyptian authorities recommend tourists to take the night train which is designed (and charged) for tourist. You can find the website of the train reservation on the description. So have a look and search for your suitable time.

      It will be a bit warmer; but it is a good time with way less crowded and better prices than when I went; which was during Christmas and is the peak season. If I didn’t have the issue of the school holiday of my son; I would have gone during late November early December though!

    Do you know if Uber works in Cairo and Luxor? Also was there any clothing restrictions for visiting the sites? Are shorts allowed?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for passing by… 🙏
      Cairo has Uber but not Luxor.
      Egypt being a islamic country; dressing conservatively will save you some back lash. Being said that; I did see ladies with short dress. Also saw locals looking at them a bit strangely. As long as you are comfortable with that; there is no issue. But if you ask me; I wouldn’t recommend that in the historical monuments and cities.

    Is late night safe in Aswan?

    • @AMPhotography
      @AMPhotography  2 года назад

      I was not really out too late. But I did start early at 5AM. In most islamic countries 5AM is a pretty much start of the day though as they wake up early and pray.
      I never hard of any issues in Aswan late night. There are plenty of police and military all around as it is the main entry to Egypt from the desert region. I guess common sense of any place applies to Aswan at late night too!

    Hello,🌷🌼🌻 May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
    God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
