What I find to be the most efficient way of packing is to cut each piece of clothing into rectangles the size of your luggage, lay them down, and stack them up. Pack a needle and thread to sew them back together when you unpack. I can fit about 20 shirts, 10 pairs of pants, and 30 pairs of socks into a standard carry-on suitcase.
you can make it even more compact by rolling a tshirt with a boxers and pair of socks into 1, boxers go on the tshirt you roll them up with the socks place on the top, when it's rolled up you can cover the rolled tshirt with your socks
TJ a Rubiks Cuber you can fold the socks together inside of each other. You don’t have to roll them individually let alone use rubber bands unless you want to have a bundle of sock pairs.
I'll try to remember to do that on the way back when I have my shopping to fit in I do roll but never fold garments at the bottom like you've demonstrated Thanks :)
As a person who travels a lot for business, there's no way I'd fold clothes like that. It's space efficient, but it's way too time consuming - both the packing and the unpacking since you're going to have to iron everything. I just don't have time for it.
Still a great travel video! I've learned a lot on this tips and hacks! thank you so much! I just want to share that above all the hacks for my travel, the greatest tip and secret I for a great travel for me, is finding my Nomad Lane Bento bag that I have been using for quite some travels already. Such a great bag that makes my travel with so much ease and comfort because of its great features.
Berenice, 👍yup. I did this method and that’s exactly what happened, it was a mess and the hotel didn’t not have an iron (ended up having to steam the clothes in the bathroom).
Ranger rolling is the best way of folding, which he is doing. It doesn't ruin the clothes at all and you do not have to iron at all when you decide to wear the clothing item
The plastic band is overkilling it. It would stay rolled up when you place it snugly and in placed. What we also need to consider is that the more we roll the garment, the more unwanted folds it gets. So the idea is to balance everything.
I have never found that rolling clothes reduces their volume......in fact logically it doesn't .....it's the same amount of volume. I have found ironing and folding clothes is just as effective with the added advantage that my clothes stay pressed.....I've heard people say that rolling them stops wrinkles but I've never found that to be true either. It may help you to pack if your using an unstructured & vertical pack like a Rucksack ( like the military do & probably where this came from ) but other than that it has no advantages. It seems to be a meme..... Anyone who wants to try a direct comparison will find that what I'm saying is true. I find that placing most of my socks & underwear between the two struts at the bottom of my rolling suitcase flattens that area & allows for ease of packing. I have found that not packing a towel or using a very light weight travel towel works. If your visiting a relative/friend/hotel use their towels ......if not......pack a travel towel. I keep shoes to a minimum usually the ones I'm wearing & flip flops .......light weight jackets are either worn or carried by hand....in summer I might pack them as summer clothes are lighter & usually take up less volume. As for toiletries ..I usually pack a toothbrush ,toothpaste & a bar of soap , deo & meds (YES !!!... I have washed my hair with a bar of soap & my underwear...It's no big deal !!!)....it will get you by in a pinch if the shops aren't open & if they are open you can buy them at your destination along with nail scissors & makeup for the ladies etc.etc....people get all bent out of shape about the TSA & toiletries...you'd think they were going to Mars not Idaho......no comments about Idaho please....be kind.
This video saved me a lot of time and space although i didn't the fold the end of the garments and wrap it around the bundle, its still a brilliant, quick and easy method of packing bags. I actually cant believe how much space I still have in my suitcase.
I didn't realise this wasn't how everyone packed. I grew up packing like this, even at school before we went on camps this was how it was taught. Hi from Australia. and I use hairbands as they don't rub on or ruin the fabric, or if it gets hot it won't leave a sticky mark.
This is cool and thanks so much for putting all this work into a video to show us! For my own suitcase, I would tweak this just a little. I would bind paired socks together by stacking two in a pair together, then rolling like you did.
+Eowyn Eadig if you wear long socks and are packing long socks, just stack the socks and fold the top sock down an inch from the top... roll and tuck as you would one sock, but now you have two together! I'll send you a video if you need a visual. Happy Trails!
Try Comfortably Collared shirts on Amazon - easy to pack, and perfect new idea for shirts under a sweater. Basically an Under Amour shirt with a collar and cuffs.
Everything is about picking lightweight clothing and essentials. This is why I prefer Roadeavour branded travel accessories. They are light and durable at the same time.
i do this and I'm not in the army great for camping bug out bags now I put one sock into the other like a glove then roll i put under where in the socks makes more room
+Von Malegowski Of course. I wanted to assure the audience that without the rubber bands to keep pack. Still you use, it could create the opposite impression. Otherwise, good job, educational video presentations and army style wrapping things on the road. A lot of people would otherwise have learned, because they do not like the army and the things associated with it.

that's a very interesting way of putting clothing in a suitcase....
wouldn't that be a struggle?
That's the best
WTF, imagine having expensive clothing only to be torn apart!!
I was very invested.... and then I realized! lol

Can you imagine the joints this guy rolls? 🌱

how do i fold my shoes
sSNIPERv12 The gamer thank you for understanding my needs. Someone really needs to do that next
You don't. But you can fill the shoes with folded underwear/shirts/socks etc.
DON'T fill your shoes with underwears
@@sayarisarkar why not?

Am I the only one who laid down to watch this and ended up delaying their packing to read the comments?
Thank you for the video by the way

Are you a mind reader or something 😂
Fuck....you got me....
I find it very difficult. Too much trouble.
In Part 2, he rolls up the rolled up clothes to save even more space.

A couple of weeks later...
-Ok I finished packing, let's go!
Yeah this seems like it takes 3 weeks before the trip to pack this way. What a waste of time this is
@@julienneangelocarpo2229 ?? all you do is roll the clothes? I packed for 5 days in under an hour.
@@julienneangelocarpo2229 It took me 45 minutes to pack for 6 days

Wow, that's a brilliant idea! An entire day's worth of undergarments in one roll :-)
Don’t forget pants 👖
I would pack socks as a pair instead of individually
use rubber bands
TJ a Rubiks Cuber you can fold the socks together inside of each other. You don’t have to roll them individually let alone use rubber bands unless you want to have a bundle of sock pairs.
Who watch before packing 🫵
*starts folding my house inside out
another hack is to instead of using rubber bands use hair elastics so you don't have to bring a bag with hair elastics in it :)
and perhaps less or no wrinkles too ?? Just wondering it would be better than elastics?
i have tried both and tbh the wrinkling was about the same
That's if you're a girl.
boys can use hair bands! not all boys have short hair, and they may need it for other things that may not be for their hair.
Grace Harvey lol, okay.
I remember first watching this in January, thank you for helping me learn to pack efficiently!
Gonna need to come back to this in a few days, finally get to go away again for the first time in years 🥰😁
Here I am again, second solo trip for the year.
Got myself a bigger bag so I can hold more stuff comfortably alongside my rolled stuff 😊
It's me, ya boi back at it again
Thank you for this video. I feel confident packing a 22” carry on for 2 weeks in Vietnam - Thailand.
Thank you so much
Soooo... how'd that trip work out for you, I wonder 🤔? ... 😷
I'll try to remember to do that on the way back when I have my shopping to fit in
I do roll but never fold garments at the bottom like you've demonstrated
Thanks :)

works fine for me
dumeril7 that’s when those multi row hangers and suit bags come in handy.
A little tip, apply pressure on the roll as your pulling the fold over. Took me forever to figure that part out.
what a science👏👌
Very good advice here in this video I learned these tricks in the army! Good stuff and makes packing way easier and less space needed.
Thank you for creating and posting this video. It was a HUGE help to me. Was amazed at how much space this technique provided.
lol rolling up socks!! Please pack my suitcase for me
LOL! I thought that was too cute
great demo! Thanks you!!
That dog is chilling and learning
I like that dog
All right. Screw packing cubes then. This just gave me the idea. Oh look! You can even fold your jewelry and travel bath products into it.
Thanks for providing this service to your fellow human beings , your video and videos like it helped me to better pack my belongings for a big trip!
Wouldn't the stretched fabric over the roll eventually remain stretched?
no
I already packed everything, saw this and repacked all. Did not regret it.

There is so much patience in this video omg.

Yet has time to comment...
haha true
why 30lbs of clothes tho?
Same
who da fuck still uses Ibs to measure weight in 2017?
yeeee and then pass all the time ironing everything 😂
I was told that rolling your clothes actually protects them from wrinkles........
well no for like 70% of the clothes. it depends on the material they are made with.
Berenice, 👍yup. I did this method and that’s exactly what happened, it was a mess and the hotel didn’t not have an iron (ended up having to steam the clothes in the bathroom).
Pack a mini steamer! Since you saved all that space (:
Jennifer Enriquez Ahahaha doesn’t that defeat the purpose?
Ranger rolling is the best way of folding, which he is doing. It doesn't ruin the clothes at all and you do not have to iron at all when you decide to wear the clothing item
So Grateful! Thanks! Great job.
