- A quick review on the Wera Joker Switch set, amazing tools but that price is a killer. What's your thoughts on them???

Put the the ratcheting side switch down that way the switch can't get caught on the elastic. Or you can put the open end down into the pouch
Or give them a 90 degree twist when you take them out maybe?

I have the old joker 8,10, 13, torx and hex set and screwdrivers. Put all in the pouch i got with the screwdrivers that I modified a bit. I test and do electrical service on marine machines and mostly all I need is my modified screwdriver set, cutters and the adjustable pliers from knipex.
hello. watched your video today and been thinking about the little switch on these spanners getting stuck and snagged on the mesh elastic. when taking them out. well co-oncidentally on amazon was had also in my cart this Tesa Fleece Fabric Tape. it is a cotton adhesive tape meant for cable harnesses in vehicles... so i was just wondering if it is possible to put a little inside the inner seam of the elastic. to cover and smooth over the inside of that hemm line where the stitching meets the mesh. hopefully to avoid these things catching. do you think that is worth trying out here and experimenting with?
btw i am not certain if this tesa cotton tape is the most ideal solution. but it is reversible, and pretty cheap on amazon. and pretty low effort. but maybe there are also some other option worth considering too. and experimenting with... like IDK some type of a little plastic staple or thin metal foil staples. might be clampable and pressed over those hem line. to grab back on itself thru the open mesh. or other little plastic hook things similar like that

Nice spanners but you're never going to use most of the sizes who needs 12,14,15.16 and 18mm spanners !! Better to just buy the sizes you would use and spend the money you would save on a 180mm Knipex pliers wrench.
Totally agree, buying any set like this half the sizes are barely used, this set was more of a want then a need, i have a couple of the knipex pliers wrench & they are brilliant tools, thank you for the comment 👍

Or.. you can buy a set of gearwrench xl locking flex heads 8-19 for $220
I had the 9902D 16-piece flex head set back in 2018, they were hot garbage, some of the wrenches had binding issues on the ratcheting end and the flex heads were either super stiff or loosey goosey. Typical Taiwan quality control issues.... Also they were chrome, which IMO makes zero sense for a tool that you use with greasy / oily hands.

How can Wera justify changing so much for this set?
to my knowledge, these are the only ratcheting wrenches currently for sale which are not made in Taiwan. All other, including the big brands like Hazet and Gedore, are all made in Taiwan despite their German tool prices.

Can’t you just put them in the case, open end first so the switches don’t get caught? Or do they not fit that way?
You could but I think over time with the material the tips of the open end would start poking holes in the pouch, might be worth a try though
Right on, let me know if you end up trying this. Ive been eyeballing them for a minute now but as you said, the price man, and then hearing stuff like the whole orientation in the pouch thing is disheartening, it’s like the absolutely average but should be amazingly unique and expensive cherry on top of the overpriced sundae. I sprang for the 6000 series awhile back but I really, really wanted these, but ughh it’s just a tad too painful for me to spring for them, even a tool addict like me can’t justify that price man haha. The fact that I’ve mentioned it three times in this short message alone should let anyone who is reading this know how ridiculous it is lol. Anyway, let me know if putting them in the other way ruins the case if you end up doing it.
I think we're all speaking the same language here..right? because if I hear 'just my opinion' 'too expensive' one more time, I will surely go stark raving bonkers. and no need to be so apologetic. you do tool reviews, correct? a good review should cover the tools capabilities And the price as well. and if the value to cost ratio is not happening then it's not a wise purchase. after all , people aren't buying these, taking them home. and then magically seeing them jump outta the pouches and start fixing things all on their own! so not all that special( to justify their cost anyhow! ) don't apologize for giving honest reviews. I don't think wera will go under because of it... just my opinion..
Wera makes great tools such as screwdrivers, really they are good. They got some nice tools like WERA 2 GO system of bags to carry tools, their bits sets are top notch even considering their prices. They got some quite good re brands such as torque wrenches from NORBAR i believe, Wera L shaped hex and torx sets are awesome, but JOKERS are just joke ...
There is nothing Absolutely nothing which can justify their price, Wera 05020091001 - 300-350 Euro for 11 wrenches which can hold the nuts, trust me or not this features is useful once in year. Nah I'm not rich enough to spend that much of money for tools that lying around workshop.
