I despise private jets. How is it right that the UK government for example is charging people £12.50 a day to drive in the ULEZ, when these jets are flying around pumping thousands of tons of carbon into the atmosphere without any consequences or restrictions. Private jets should only be allowed for high value VIPs like presidents, royal family and other 'top brass' who may be assassination or kidnap targets and need to travel in a high security environment, then fine. Anyone using a private jet for personal and pleasure reasons should be taxed by the airmile. Surely businesspeople etc can travel business or first class on any airline and enjoy the same luxuries without the pollution. I would not own a private jet even if I was a billionaire. Nor would I own a mansion or a gas guzzling car. We must all be aware of our footprint, and try to reduce it as much as we can. Further restrictions on private jets are needed because these planes are by far one of the biggest sources of pollution. You'd be better off spending the money you'd spend on a jet on something like rewilding a forest or planting an orchard. Do something good for nature which is in turn good for you. Sorry to poop the party, but this is fact.
This is a pretty niche industry there are not that many private jets flying actively around the world and not so many people own private jets to begin with...the industry is only valued at like 20 billion world wide....the industry employees about 1.2 million people world wide and weve not counted the people it took to build the planes.....and you still have to realize that a commercial plane still pollutes significant more than a private jet, it's just that a private jet pollutes more "per person"...and most people flying commercial will actually never fly private coz its soo expensive......also remember 100 companies in this world are responsible for 71% of all global emissions.
