Whenever I idle in my ship, listening to this song, I always imagine my Guardian looking out into the inky black infinite of space, thinking to themselves, even the Golden Age only scratched the surface of what it means to live in this universe.

It is sadly in the game, but not the OST. The game can select it as ambient music. First time I heard this, I was waiting around at The Farm for a few minutes waiting for some buddies to get done with a raid.
that's what makes it even more valuable...You can't have it how you want it when you want it. that is what makes anything the more valuable. Take that as a lesson for life...
Thanks for posting. I did one myself but just the 3.38 version. As a lifelong rock fan I was amazed at how much this moved me the first time I caught it in orbit. Along with the Awoken theme at the Reef in D1 this is my favourite videogame music ever. Does anyone know why this is not on the OST? I would have paid to download it.
It's probably not in the OST because there's a lot of music. I imagine we'll see this, along with the DLC and various strike music in the Y2 soundtrack, similar to what they did with the Taken King.
It’s a travesty that this wasn’t included on the OST. As good as the other version was this hits hard in a different way beautiful and sad in equal measure.
Hmm... it loops... I thought this was the original long one which is 7 mins but this is also good but just for like being in orbit or like sitting in one place for a while... tho those background sound effects mess up the song a bit
Leave it to bungie to make a beautiful orchestra of voices. First halo, then halo 2, and now this awesome masterpiece. This is my favorite song in destiny 2. Every time it comes on and the other version for that matter (this one is better tho) it just feels so... Good

I sang in the studio choir for this soundtrack and the subsequent DLCs. This was my favorite piece to sing out of all of them by far
