I bought a set of Mitas e07+ a few weeks ago, looking forward for spring and off-road riding. Mitas says they are 60/40, a little bit more road biased then the e07, which is a 50/50 (kind of). Great video, great quality, both video and sound, keep it up 👍

Good video again . I didn't like them offroad. I had them on a 701. Didn't give the grip of Heidenau. I had no complaints on road . Just watch the wet.
Mitts e07 good for off-road.... Bad for on-road high speed.170 over speed.. My suggestion is Avon av53&av54.. Very very good quality and for higer speed and Curv and good off-road... Not bad.
Thank you both for your experience. The Mitas do have a pretty hard rubber compound which make them last relatively long. That is why I was surprised to see such descent on-road performance.
When i tested karoo 3 in 2018 i could say the opposite. Rear tire was terrible in wet, it was the worst experience on a bike i ever had. Even on dry i couln't trust them completely because sometimes the rear lost grip out of a sudden in curves. Front tire wasnt that bad, but when it started to wear unevenly from braking it caused the steering to wobble at lower speeds. But the tires lasted long and did good in loose terrain or gravel. - Perhaps they had fixed the compound since then. I am using now e07 and e07+ (since 8000km) and have no problems, these are great, even on wet termac.
@@pankurczak5329 Nope, didn't change the compound, same issues with mine, which is why I am thinking about changing them before they've run their course.
I ride a KTM 950 and overall this is a good tire. I found going down hill on loose sand/ gravel, the front end would want to washout and slide. I don't experience this on a more dirt orientated front tire. I still made it home alive though!!
@@MotoVibes I use the E07s on a KTM 950 Adventure. I need to learn more of the tires composition. I bought the bike used in June and had an injury before I could get to know the bike. Hi, thanks for your video. I have this tires on my 2018 KTM 1290 S. Adv. R, not big complains with them, except for the front tire (90/90R21) that suddenly started loosing air in several points of the bead, the shop clean the bead and the rim, but keep loosing air, so I decided to change the tire (same brand and model) until the rear wears out, then probably will try another brand...mainly because my front tire is pretty noisy. Probably will try DUNLOP Trailmission or CONTINENTAL TKC70 Rock's (rear). Regards.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Scorpion Rally STR - heard very good things about this tire. I do not think the E-07+ would do that great on mud either - there are better tires for that ;-)
I don't know what the new plus does, but I've had the normal e-07 and the k60 scout on my africa twin. Their quite similar. I'd say the scout does a little better in the wet, but that may be between my ears. The scout also has a hard center line that gives it a bit more mileage, but supposedly that line is a disadvantage offroad again. (Honestly, apart from mileage, the differences between these tires are barely noticeable) With my new 1290 I'm gonna opt for 2 sets of wheels, because I don't want to compromise anymore, locally anyway. It sucks either way though. Go 50/50 and always have to compromise. Go tkc80 and wreck your tires when you want to dirt a bit further from home... I may very wel just swap the tkc80's for e07 or k60 just for going on holidays. Man, this is an expensive hobby isn't it? 😅
The second set of wheels helps a lot. It’s a bit of a pain to swap out the wheels but it offers flexibility- I am currently on road tires again for the winter.
I'm using K60 scouts and I love them. My rear did 10.000km of good fun and I'm replacing it with another set of k60. However, I'm considering replacing the front when it's dead with mitas e07. Is it a good idea?
Hey. Nice video. How would you rate off-road performance (gravel, sand) of these tyres. Do they feel squerly compared to some others? Thinking of buying these but see some mixed reviews.
They do reasonably well on sand and gravel as most 60/40 or 50/50 tires will - mud is where most of these tires will start to struggle What makes the E-07+ stand out from the rest is that they last MUCH longer than all other 50/50 tires on the market while still providing good grip off-road. Typical top mileage of an Anakee Wild or Karoo 4 are approximately 5000 km. This Mitas will easily do 8000 km if don’t go crazy on the gas. They do this with a harder rubber compound so you will compromise performance compared to typical 50/50 tires in some situations. If you need your tires to last that long this is almost the only option- if 5000 km or less is ok you have much more choices to go with. Check out this video - specifically the tire and tools section ruclips.net/video/S5ujzYC-spA/видео.html the tire puncture would likely not have happened with Mitas as the carcass is much more puncture resistant
Got the E-07+ on my old BMW R100GS. Like them for both behaviour and looks. No worries of traction control issues with 50HP on th reaer wheel :) The may come on my KTM 790 ADV R replacing the E-09's which are way more offroad biased. THX for the review!
Thank you very much- I just went through a set of these in 16 days in the „Dakar“ mix - harder rubber compound- lots of riding in wet conditions- on and off-road. They did surprisingly well - other riders were on softer tires like the Anakee Wild and Karoo 3 and I did not feel I was in much of disadvantage - now that is all very subjective of course but I just had a brand new set mounted a few days ago.
Did you experience any front tire slide? Mine are still relatively new (~200km) and while i find them decently quite and stable on highway, rear planted very well in corners i lost the front couple of times on dry road in roundabouts (going left).
I had to built up confidence over time but I am not pushing this tire anywhere close to let’s say the Continental Road Attack. I am trying to ride even smoother to avoid jerky moves 😉 so far no tire slips
Thank you! Yes, indeed there is a whole video on the accessories like the GPS ruclips.net/video/r9qvKLRHJ4M/видео.html - with links to the equipment in the description
Servus! Currently I run Pirelli Scorpion STR Rally on my SA-R. Couldn‘t be happier actually. Perfect (!) on Tarmac and quite well offroad (great on gravel, with limits in deep sand). But i need to see if the E07+ can keep up.
Nice review! Not really used to 50/50 tyres since i more agressive tyres other than the ones that comes with new bikes. The new 890R arrives with this tyre and i will give it a try. Will be interesting, i assume the front are rather crappy on slippery forest trails. Seems to shine on travels though with a bit of all type of surfaces. Thanks/ Mattias
I am pretty certain it is not a multi-compound tire but I do not know for sure. The Anakee Wild will be slightly better for off-road use with the wider spaced tread pattern but you will compromise on road performance. I had the Anakee Wild on the GS - it is louder and less capable on road - also max speed is 170 km/h if that matters and it will wear faster. However, if off-road performance is more important to you the Anakee Wild would be the one I would pick.
I had the 'Wilds' on my DR650. Grip was not an issue in any conditions (including very high-speed cornering on-road). I'm pretty surprised to hear 'Motovibes' say the EO7+ was better on-road (It is either VERY good (which makes me more inclined to get an E07+), or the Annakee just didn't work so well on a heavier bike. I did run low pressures in my Annakees (25psi) as I found that seemed to give better grip on tarseal and gravel. I'm considering a EO7+ rear Annakee Wild front. I don't think you would get more than 3000km out of a rear Annakee Wild.
Hey, I have a delicate tyre question. I’ve seen that you have by now used both the Pirelli Scorpion STR Rally as well as the Mitas E07+ Dakar. How do these two compare? Is the Pirelli better on the road and is the Mitas better off the road? I’d love to hear your opinion, thanks!
I have not had the Scorpion STR Rally on my bike yet. I have a Norden 901 for a couple of days that runs this tire. Both tires are probably 60:40 tires (road:offroad) - give or take. The STR Rally just from its profile and rubber compound is a littel more street biased. If Offroad Performance is primarily what you are looking for the Mitas maybe better by a bit. For pure road performance it would most certainly be the STR Rally. Longevity will be better with the Mitas Dakar for sure.
I have used a tall screen the first 2 years and this year I kept the short screen in for most of the season due to a larger amount of off-road riding. It works fine but for pure onroad touring the taller screen is better. I will have a review out on the small screen soon
No - these are spoked wheels with the same dimensions as the S model‘s stock wheels 17/19 inch. Basically the same wheels the first 1290 Super Adventure came with - the white one with the big tank if you remember
Hello Oliver, hope all is good with you, I do have a question please. On mid-November 2021 after watching quite a few reviews on Mitas tires I decide to buy them and have them installed my KTM 1190 (Mitas E-07 Plus + 120/70-19 and Mitas E07 Plus 170/60B17) . Unfortunately for some reason I do have issues since then, every other week I need to inflate both of them even is winter time here in Nevada and I do not ride too much and the bike is in the garage. The tires were installed into a KTM certified shop. Do you have any idea why this is happening or any tips that I can use to have this solved?
I am sorry to read that you have trouble with your tires. I had to fill up my Mitas every 2 weeks as well but I attributed this to my spoked wheels rather than the tires itself. I think the spoked wheels are not as air tight as the cast alloy wheels. I have the same issue with my larger wheels from the R model - I need to fill up air more often. Are you running the Mitas on cast alloys or spoked wheels?
@@MotoVibes Appreciate your response, I have them on spoked wheels. Before those Mitas I was on the original tires-Continental, same wheels and no issue at all with air.
@@cosmo00013 I am deep in spectulation territory now but if the Contis were fine it may not be the wheel (leakage where the spokes enter the rim) itself - even though damage could have happened during the installation of the new tires. Leaves the valve itself? or maybe its leaking throug the tire bead (dirt caugh between tires & tire bead) - not super likely?! Next time around have them check the inner liner that seals the spokes from the rim - also get new valves. If nothing else works you can use a tube even in tubeless tire ;-)
I have 8x 128 GB Sandisk Extremes (the fast ones) that cycle through all my 4K cameras. The GoPro is the only one freezing up regularly on all of them. The GoPro has quite nice image quality and state of the art image stabilization but considering it is the market leader it still lacks in some of the most important areas. It gets really slow or freezes up so that I have to take the battery out to restart it again - quite often unfortunatly. It cannot rember the freaking date & time after the battery is removed for more than 12 hrs and why in the world would you (still in its 9th generation) design a camera that needs a dongle for mic input when all the mics come with 3.5mm jacks. It is a love hate relationship with my GoPro 😂

Some nice footage mate. Good thoughts. Thinking of getting a rear E07+ for my 2016 Africa Twin (Or maybe a MOTOZ GPS) and pairing it with an Annakee Wild front (If the profiles match sufficiently).
Thank you very much! I am also contemplating my next offroad tire set too. The E-07+ was actually pretty spot on for what I needed at the time - for what it does offroad it still runs well on tarmac and lasts pretty long. I was looking at the E10 or even the E09 for more agressive offroad features but I know I still be travelling a lot on regular roads so they will likely wear much faster. Bridgestone make the AX41 which should also fall into this category of tires.
Just used up a set this week - over 6000 km with approx 1000-2000 km more life in them but I was riding them hard on the second week as i knew I was going to have them replaced during service- as a matter of fact I will be picking my bike in a few hours.

Did you instal a R wheels in a S model?
Leaves the valve itself? or
maybe its leaking throug the tire bead (dirt caugh between tires & tire bead) - not super likely?!
Next time around have them check the inner liner that seals the spokes from the rim - also get new valves. If nothing else works you can use a tube even in tubeless tire ;-)
I always add slime to my tyres, I never seem to lose any pressure in 30 years of riding.
@@donwilliams7730 Thank you for your advice, I will keep this in mind, Ride Safe !!
Great video, re go pro freeze, make sure u have an original branded high quality SD card. If not its common to have these issues.
@@MotoVibes yes it's a fantastic camera. A friend had issues. And found that there was a difference when buying the same brand from eBay or amazon to when he finally bought the same brand from the scan disk website. Amazingly there can be dodgy ones from 3rd party sites just saying though to help. ☺ have a great Christmas fella
@@MotoVibes Yes though an amazing camera it's really mounts to scratch in the stability dept. Shame really
@@DaveDayve I appreciate the help and will pay attention if this happens with all my cards (I have different batches of SD cards). I may just give it a try with a new Hero7 too - mine has gotten some battle damage over the past month and it is Christmas - isn't it - despite all the shortcomings there is not anything better right now
Some nice footage mate.
@@MotoVibes Yep, I hear the AX41 is a super-high performance tyre, on and off-road. I don't think you will get high mileage out of these tyres though.
@@campbellrousselle9752 probably not but I am curious to try it one day
What kinda milage did you get out of them
Just used up a set this week - over 6000 km with approx 1000-2000 km more life in them but I was riding them hard on the second week as i knew I was going to have them replaced during service- as a matter of fact I will be picking my bike in a few hours.
@@MotoVibes I cannot find a rear everyone is out of stock..I need 150/70/18 rear
@@gabrielkopp2036 I know some tires are hard to get at the moment - I left it to my KTM Dealer to figure this one out ;-)
What mirrors are those?

How many km has there yours motorcycle ?
I am at roughly 46k km right now

A lot of my friends here, adventure riders, watching MotoVibes channel. Also for a lot of Adventure riders from other countries. It was absolutelly right decision and your English is perfect (look on the Ridermag guys from Romania they also publicate their videos in ENG). But is not bad, that we can hear time to time in your some strenght offroad situation also a nice hochdeutsch (jungs, hilfe! scheiße etc.😜)....Und armer Arne muß ein bisschen mehr Fremdsprachen lernen...
@@czechbeer7714 teaching you guys all the important German words that matter for off-road riding 😂😂😂 - thanks for watching and commenting. I will have a Czech beer tonight - cheers 🍻
