Caitlin's appearance on AYG a few weeks ago is top tier.
Hey Ari, i dreamt you were running a restaurant where there was no menu and you decided what people would be served. You would also allow people to bring food from somewhere else and eat it there. I was having soup with chunks of meat in it and the person sitting next to me said they didn't like the "acoustic aesthetics of meat", whatever that meant.
"Acoustic esthetics of meat" means you chew loudly and you subconsciously know it and you're trying to subliminally tell yourself to chew quietly.

In CA they have sued bartenders and the whole staff for drunk driving deaths. The numbers are astronomical.
The whole staff? Dishwashers and bussers? No way.
Hostess server bartender and manager. Whole front of house. I learned about this while taking ABC courses.
@@bigearlz1 Would love to see the articles or files on that one because I feel like they were just scaring you haha. I suppose you can file a suit on whoever you want but the law (CA) clearly waives any worker who didn't directly serve the person alcohol.

For someone who never waited tables Ari'le sure has given tipping a lot of thought.
Colum talking shit about bar owners is pretty much nothing more than gaslighting and deflection to justify the massive thievery he was doing to his employers. I'm sure there's some bar owners that are like that, but having been raised in a neighborhood dive bar; I can say first hand that you guys were dead wrong about most things regarding the bar business in general. So just for one thing (at least here in CA), bar owners are completely ripped off by the alcohol bureau; they have to buy from specific distributors at wholesale prices higher than we pay retail at grocery(or even liquor) stores as consumers. So when a bartender is stealing product just to make even more tips than the massive pulls they're getting; it's jacked af and is the biggest cause of bar failures.

As a customer I tip based on the math I’m capable of. Tip 20% regardless of service. 25% for adequate/good service. 33% or more for great service
yeah minimum $5 tip for me, even if my meal is only $15, otherwise I go by the same rules, if it's a bartender and I get anything other than a beer I give them a $10 tip right off the bat

I think Tipping should be abolished. It forces the bartenders and waitstaff to expect customers to pay them for a job they are already being paid to do. You shouldn't have to accept a job that is paying under minimum wage, just because they want to promote tipping. It causes a bitter situation for both the customer and the waitstaff/tenders. I'll defend a pay increase for these people, but I can't defend the expectation of tipping. Your employer should be responsible for you getting a fair wage, and tips should be seen as a Bonus for excellence, not an expectation to fulfill wages.
Work In a tipping job for 2 hours and you will understand why things are different. You clearly haven’t worked in the hospitality industry ever.. the profit margins in the restaurant industry are the thinnest in almost any industry.. you realize that a restaurants product goes bad.. brake pads and oil don’t
If you believe in a free market then use your brain and realize that if they pay servers 25$ an hour then you the consumer eats that cost so your burger will cost 22$ instead of 12$

Lol 20 still isn't enough per hour in NYC city if restaurant/bars just went 25hr would be awesome I'd stay in the industry for that just knowing I'll be making somewhat of a living wage
