And the intelligent part of her is how she craft her words, her flow, and in (G)i-dle, their concepts, songwriting, outfits, presentation in stage (like in Queendom). By competing in Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar, Soyeon experienced two opposite polars of the idol spectrum. She didn’t come out as 1st place in either, but I think she used what she learned in both shows to find her own unique style and brought out the best version of herself in the form of (G)I-DLE.
Soyeon is not an underrated anymore! They got their 2nd win today and still expecting for the 3rd win! SHE GETS WHAT SHE DESERVES! GET THAT ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD!
Soyeon's vocal color shares a few similarities with Hash's when she raises octaves, so she can reach his range a bit. A nice weapon to change her flow rythm I think. It is complicated to copy Hash Swan. Matter of fact, rappers that tilt towards any of the ends of the voice spectrum are hard to copy. From SMTM we have for example Hash Swan and Killahgramz in high voice color, and Flowsik in deep voice color. Unless a rapper has a bit of that distinctive flavour they can't forget about trying to flow like them. Anyways, only new rappers would try to straight up copy another. It is a good thing for Hash to be recognized for his flow anyways

I love Soyeon and my bias is Suga (BTS is my bias group as well) but please stop comparing the two. The style of their raps is similar but not enough to call her a “girl version of Yoongi.” She’s talented in her own right. I would suggest looking at more Korean rappers and don’t just compare any good rapper to Agust D. Styles/diction/flow/etc vary from rapper to rapper. Each person does what suits them.

I love Soyeon and my bias is Suga (BTS is my bias group as well) but please stop comparing the two. The style of their raps is similar but not enough to call her a “girl version of Yoongi.” She’s talented in her own right. I would suggest looking at more Korean rappers and don’t just compare any good rapper to Agust D. Styles/diction/flow/etc vary from rapper to rapper. Each person does what suits them.

I understand the comments about wanting a collab not being a comparison, but calling them similar is comparing. I’m not trying to bash anyone who does but there are many other korean rappers (even more idols who can rap) that are more similar to Soyeon than Yoongi.

As a longtime Brown Eyed Girls fan, I came into Unpretty Rapstar 3 supporting Miryo. By the time I finished, I was 100% in Soyeon's camp. Best rapper out of all 3 seasons, bar none.
