Exactly. That is why I think it is possible to keep them in a wildlife park (but only the good ones!) and for them to have a quality of life as high or higher than in the wild. Their movement might be restricted, yes, but they will not suffer from the threat or stress of predators (esp in the case of my favorite big cats - tigers and lions and their cubs 😭). Their injuries and illnesses will be treated, they won’t suffer or die of starvation. Plus they live longer, my playful cubs are given a chance to grow and have their own families.
Yes it seems at age of a lion if the others see weakness and no solution or strength it is almost like they don’t bother. I will admit I hardly see it with lioness but I am sure it happens, but if it happens to a cub they see it as their energy is better spent with their other Cubs and help them survive rather than waist energy and time with another lion cub that has given up or will die. An old male lion I think it is related if the male lion dosnt assert his dominance the others see it as weakness and their is no point in letting a male lion eat if he isn’t strong enough to show his strength. I’ve seen for a lioness one pride I’ve seen they opened the bull and held it there for a lioness that had weak teeth. They were literally coaperating like I never seen lions do.

How would there ever be another great lion if he is never battle tested by the best lion available? Killer instinct arent born they are honed ,sharpened ,cultured ,developed! By doing what you propose on a large scale will dilute bloodlines ! I dont know that great lions of the past are as great if they are coddled in thier golden years ? A weak pride male is a blocker to a better healthier bloodline to the males that would overthrow him . In the case of the female you mentioned . Yes that was amazing the bond I think between a mother and daughter. Or was it several lionesses who helped her eat ? But this is rare in that they had a surplus of food and were stable in the environment to be able to help like that . I've also seen where one brother will help and older sickly brother with food and protection when the old guy was to frail to move ! But all these behaviors sharpen and add to the lions overall health of a species . It should always be only the strong survive or the end result will be genetically weak animal not viable in natures harsh environments! Peace friends !

He was in a battle against two lions and one of two lions females and he held his own doe about 15mins befor his 7 females came to his rescue so yes he’s hungry and thirsty but would u b after ether night he had that why his ladies is try to hunt anything to get him healthy again before the rival comes back and they need their pride male 💯 or he will b killed and a possible takeover will be very possible

Sekekama & his brother torn nose is very much still alive, they lost the marsh pride late last year and has been seen with a small pride of three new lionesses, so at the age of 16yrs old they are still active and holding on, however torn nose isn’t doing well but sekekama is looking in great physical shape

I wish they would take off that stupid collar and quit harassing these poor lions. There prey surly associate the trucks and jeeps that lions are around spoiling there life supporting hunt. We have decimated the wild lion pop by 92% in the last 100 years. Can we not just leave them be. ? Stop shooting them with tranquilizer guns so you can collar them and constantly harass them. Lames
