a majority say that long distance isn’t a real thing nor that it lasts, but speaking from experience, i can say it’s such a pure form of love in many ways. the state of vulnerability and trust you have to invest, including time.. it comes with everything an in-person relationship does, minus them being in person.. which makes it that much harder. anyway, i fell in love with a brown eyed, oregon girl. and im a texas girl who lived an entire day away from the love of my life. we stayed up until the sun was shining, just talking and laughing. then we would sleep and wake up together, and of course talk some more. i remember laughing like nobody was trying to sleep, or as if i didn’t need any. when i saw her smile, i wanted the world to freeze so i could stare at it awhile longer. i would replay it in my mind over and over again. she knows absolutely everything about me, from my past to my insecurities to my future plans/goals. she knows how broken i feel, but didn’t mind holding my pieces together with her words, which were always so full of love and light. she taught me exactly what love is, through all of these beautiful memories.. but also what love should never be. there were nights where i cried until i would throw up, where id go days without eating or sleeping... i just felt numb without her in my world. i would run back into her arms every single time because she was so warm and life is so damn cold. we would have fights where i would scream and so would she, but i knew i could never leave her. even with all of our ugly, all of the pain, i loved every second with her. i love every part of that girl, and nobodies brown eyes feel the way hers did. if i could redo it all,i would. just so i know it’s not over, it cant be. now we have not spoken for a few months, but i think about her every single day. my heart aches for her so much, in a way i have never felt grief before. i miss her, but i know she is becoming a better person without me, and i couldn’t be happier and hurt all in one. i love you so much dililah.
