It's like this Concerto reaches down deep inside us and draws out the story mixed with happiness, sadness, mystery, danger, love...the whole works...out of us.
Do you know the story of the film it was written for? ‘Dangerous Moonlight’ is worth reading up on Wikipedia, especially the plot section. I have never yet been able to listen to this piece without at least a few tears, it is so evocative
Thank you so much for the beautiful rendition. Wonderful performance and I enjoy hearing it more without the orchestra accompanyment. My Grandma sent me an ancient copy of the sheet music 10 or so years ago and hearing you play will finally spur me on to sit down and learn the song.
I have always loved this piece. You did a great job playing it solo. Its not as much fun without the full orchestra. I wish more people knew this beautiful piece.
This masterpiece has never grown old for the past 80 years. When you close your eyes this composition takes you into another dimension. Olga, your performance is superb and flawless and you have not failed to deliver the entire substance of this piece. I personally managed to secure the original recording of "The Warsaw Concerto - Piano Solo" by Ivan Fosello, on a 78 record from 1941 and still enjoy listening to it on my "Reynolds Prismaphonic" player.
She's amazing!!! It's not often you see someone do "trills'" with fourth and fifth fingers! Great dexterity! Plays from the heart too!!! Awesome performance.
She takes you to another place, just loved this concerto since I was a child got me interested in classical music so talented privileged just watching.
I could keep this one on re-play always, I believe. It puts beautiful thoughts into my mind, and pulls them from my heart.... so much happier than the ugliness of today.
The Warsaw Concerto was written by Richard Addinsell for the movie Dangerous Moonlight. He was told to compose something similar to Rachmaninoff. So Addinsell did just that. A lush Romantic pastiche as one woukd expect in a Rach concerto. I'm not musically trained to know whether the Warsaw Concerto is really difficult or equal to a Rach concerto but plenty of serious classical pianist like Valentina Lisitsa have played it in concert so it couldn't be that bad. It does sound very lovely like the 18th Variation of Paginini.
I love both Rachmaninoff's concerto no. 2 and Addinsell's the Warsaw concerto. Olga played the arrangement for piano solo SUPERBLY. I've heard others played it but so far none could compare to Olga. Bravissimo Olga!❤
@@exs1803 When you have a 30 thousand dollar Steinway piano, a highly competent artist like Olga, you can strew up the whole recording process with a $50 dollar microphone. I would suggest that it be re-recorded with a pzm mic. Thx.
@@charlesdavis7087 Wonder how you know the mic used and what it cost LOL Olga or whoever responsible for the session must be satisfied with the sound else it would be scrapped. And how could you suggest anything when it already a done job, its over? Hahaha Anyway as an audiophile, I think the audio is not as good as I wanted but I thought the shortcoming was due to the room acoustics, being surrounded with glass sides. it is not a recording studio for sure.
Without a doubt, the finest rendition of this Concerto I have heard! Olga is so ultra talented! She really does justice to a VERY UNDERATED piece of music.
My Mother used to play this as a solo, at home, with such passion & tenderness..her 3 brothers were all New Zealand RAF pilots, only 2 returned from the Battle of Britain - her respect, love and heartbreak was evident as she played..this if the finest rendition I have ever heard, thank you, Olga. I will always cherish this salute to the brave pilots and to Warsaw. Long live a Free Poland & Britain.
Impressive but that is standard for any accomplished classical pianist. Valentina Lisitsa has RUclips where she plays Rach 2nd and 3rd Piano Concertos without sheet music and without an orchestra.
This is one of the very best performances of the Warsaw Concerto I have ever heard or seen. Powerful, yet sublime. Sometimes both at the same time. Olga, you are a beautiful woman who plays beautifully. Love it.
Vielen herzlichen Dank für diese wunderschöne Interpretation des Warschauer Konzerts. Es ist unglaublich, wie durch Ihre Virtuosität das Musikstück selbst auf einem kleinen Flügel zu einer solchen Klangfülle wird.
Why hasn't a recording company grabbed up this woman and done something with a prodigious talent? Everything I hear of hers is amazing. The recording quality on this video -- not so good. But still worth a listen. The better quality videos on youtube simply outstanding. A hidden treasure.
It reflects the times it was written inThe film was called dangerous moonlight. It was a love story set in the air war over Poland and Germany. It is really a lovely emotional piece beautifully performed here.Olga is quite beautiful as well S talented.
Hi Olga, what a great performance and just love it. I am Ray (Floatwithme) a Dutch composer and share the same passion for piano. Keep up that amazing work in all you do. Cheers Ray
What a great rendition by a very talented young lady, I love the melody in the middle. First class.

Perfectly stated by you. John (Australia) Beautifully played. Bravo.
@@ericabrown6576 I first heard this beautiful piece in that very movie. 😉 ❤
I had years of piano training, and I can tell you that a performance like this takes many hours of practice. Olga surpasses everyone I have heard. ❤
Absolutely one of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard.
my grandfather loved this song, mom would play it for him when he'd come for dinner. beautifully played here!!!
Excellent performance. She put her soul into it.
Olga simply "knocks it out of the park" with her performance of this Concerto! ❤

Beautiful rendition of this wonderful classic by a beautiful lady !
This is not an easy piece, she did a superb performance, she is really talented.
I enjoy listening to this modern piano piece concert
Henry G. sure did a magnifying job in Arranging this Concerto. I have listened to so many Pianist play this Concerto, and Olga ranks tops!
She takes you to another place, just loved this concerto since I was a child got me interested in classical music so talented privileged just watching.

Beautiful Olga!
Bravissimo Olga. Superb technique and wonderful interpretation!👍
Grossly underrated..some even say it's a "second rate" Rachmaninoff.. But It's a modern piano Masterpiece, and its played very well in this video.

A beautiful piece of music played beautifully on a beautiful piano by a beautiful lady . How can one not love it.............
The recording was not really worthy of her performance.

You made me cry...❤ you are very talented, congratulation.
My Dad used to play that for me on his upright grand. Brought back beautiful memories and a few tears. Thank you are an incredibly talented pianist.
Exactly the same emotions I experienced Tony.
This piece of music is so dramatic and romantic. Excellent performance.
A beautiful performance. Very passionate. She is lovely. Richard Carpenter also does a stellar job with Arthur Fiedler.
Love it. This is our marching band music in the field back in the 80s. Beautiful music piece.

What a masterpiece! Always loved it and tried to play it myself once upon a time. This rendition is just sublime.

Bloody hell. That brought tears to my eyes. You’re very good
So beautiful. No orchestra needed.

Pure magic❤❤
My favorite piece of classical music. Wonderfully done.
De toutes les versions solo du concerto de Varsovie que j’ai écouté c’est la plus prodigieuse et la plus magnifique ❤❤❤❤ merci Olga

Probably because classical music isn't a big money maker. One concert by some rapper makes more money than years of a top classical pianist.
And what a shame!

Beautiful and TALENTED Olga!
Very beautifully performed. Thank you.
FANTASTIC interpretation of this piece! Bravo!
A superb piece, which every so often I remember and revisit. Rachmaninoff would have been proud of it.
Amazing
Wonderful. However hard I try, I just can't get the same speed of this incredible young lady.
this is how The Warsaw Concerto should be played -vivacity. Played at the correct speed. Well done!
Amen!
Heavenly ... beautiful!
Оля вы просто гений ! А какой звук! Какая игра! Я удовлетворен и восхищен Вашим полетом в другую Галактику! Браво!
