I refitted the lenses on my Eco sunclip to a yellow tint so I have blue light blocking on demand. Sometimes I need to make sure my work is color corrected, so its a must have in this configuration!
Media glasses definitely so worth it! I have those Reykjavik Eyes frames with the yellow lenses that Robert designed for me and they are positively wonderful.
I’ve seen so much information saying blue light filtering is unscientific. Could you provide any sources for your claims? I would appreciate it. Love all the content.
Regarding blue light protection, what are your thoughts on RX lenses that have this feature in the semi finished blank vs lenses that have this feature added in the AR process? I have noticed that the ones with it added in the SF appear to pass the "Blue pen" test better by blocking the ray completely vs the partial block from the AR machine
Glasses advertised as computer glasses are usually technically blue light glasses rather than computer glasses. Computer glasses have a slight magnification, whereas blue light glasses are usually plano, though the two can be combined.
Interesting video Robert; appreicate the education on such an important topic. In the video you mentioned that your yellow tint will block more blue light than a standard blue light filter; then you later mentioned that if the yellow is too strong you can reduce the strength. What I would like to know is whether there is a certain point where the strength of the yellow tint means that it becomes less effective than the blue light filter coating? Does that make sense? 🤔
Robert, could you please help me with difference between ZEISS Office Lens Plus and ZEISS Office Lens Superb, I am using plus and have excellent vision up to 1.5 mtr, but beyond that I am having issues, shouldn't I see very clear till at least 3.5 meter as the range is till 4 mtr.
That's to do with the lens quality. Superb is better than Plus, and Individual is better than Superb. As you go up, the field of view gets wider and the accuracy of the lens is slightly higher. For the maximum focal length, that's decided by the choice of Book, Near, or Room. I hope you'll consider ordering your next pair from us.
Whilst I love the tints, they are useless for jobs, like mine, that require accurate colour representation on the screen, photo editing, video editing, colour grading etc.! Also most modern operating systems and phones have a evening/night mode that reduces the blue output as well.
@@thespectaclefactory But you wouldn’t wear sunglasses during twilight, or to watch the setting sun. Normal sunglasses also don’t specifically protect against blue light. Blue light blocking glasses are just snake oil that only change color perception (just like color blindness glasses).
You look really cool in those Robert. 😍 Think I also once asked you about the yellow tints in my March visit. Btw, is there a difference in the RE Jesper (which you made mine) and Johann that you are wearing? They look rather similar. Thanks for another amazing video and showcasing yellow tints! 👍 I am itching for another RE frame 😅 if it isn´t already obvious.
Just imagine the video which should have been among the first 10 is coming after dozens of videos from a spectacle "factory" company. There are virtually no videos on actual eye problems. And that is the reason I stopped taking this video channel seriously.
Robert isn't a doctor. He does videos about eyeglasses. You're not looking for the right kind of channel. Don't criticize him for not doing a video that he isn't qualified to do. Figure out how to do a search properly.
Thanks Robert. I need these so much, it's 2am in South Africa rn and I literally can't sleep.
Hope it helped 😅

Nice! Great idea
Quality video as always! Thank you for this information for my next pair of glasses for work.

Thanks for sharing Dave! Finally copied you with a pair for myself 😉
@@thespectaclefactory I saw that lol!
What model are they?
Very informative Robert! Thank you.
Very welcome

That blue light affects sleep patterns? Just google it, it's common knowledge and not controversial
Ive been wearing eyezen for years. i got a fat headache when i switched to smartlife

That's what we cover in this video
Great something for me. I could add that there are monitors that also reduce blue light . Some dell monitors for example.
Good tip!
Do blue tinted lenses give the same effect as computer screens?
No, the opposite, since they transmit blue light in higher frequencies
Thank you for the fantastic review.
Thanks for watching!

Yes it does, but basically no... even a 12% yellow is going to block about 50% blue I presume
Will you have these as a clip on for the G1’s?
Yep! We can do that
I have already put my order in with Robert for exactly that!
is it special manufactured yellow filter or just yellow tinted lens?
Not all shades of yellow are the same. Just make sure you order from someone who knows what they are talking about

Hi Robert, what is your PD?
I would to ref that to guage the frames you wear would be suitable for me.
Thanks
It's about 63
So if I got a sunclip what prescription is the sunclip just +1.2?
That needs to be individually configured for you.

That's an excellent point, which I intended to cover
Why not just use the blue light filter already available in phones and computers? (Night Shift on Apple devices)
That's also an option, but this video is about glasses
All experts say that orange is far more effective than yellow. Any personal experience?
Useful
Glad you think so!
The blue light digital screens give off is just a fraction of the amount of blue light the sun produces.
Correct, but you'd naturally wear sunglasses outdoors, so this is eye protection indoors

Thank you ❤️ they are basically the same model but Johann is hingeless
@@thespectaclefactory ah ha! Didn´t catch that! That is sick! 😉... question is ... should I or should I not? 🤔Thanks Robert.
I don't wear glasses to use cellphone or tablet, only computer.
Then you would probably benefit from Office lenses
@@thespectaclefactory What are office lenses? Mentioned in this video?
I'll have to finish watching the video.
