No better place to shoot a wedding than the Beauport Hotel in the summer

Not many couples are going to end their engagement shoots by jumping into the Boston Harbor. After seeing that, I knew we were in for a good day. They did not disappoint. One of the best venues to be at in New England during the summer is the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, Massachusetts. There are so many options as photographer to use as a background. You could be on the beach, on the rocks, in front of the VW bus, or in the interiors of the hotel. We started doing some photography of Chris and Emily separately in their hotel rooms. There was such great light to get some portraits of them. They did their first look on the deck by the ceremony site. You could tell right away how much they truly wanted to be together by how genuinely happy they were to see each other. We did the photography of the family and bridal party overlooking the water. It’s always nice when a family member conducts the ceremony as a no so much about the couple. They even did a sand ceremony as a symbol of their intertwining. We timed the day so that we could get some images of the sunset, which couldn’t have been more beautiful. The rest of the evening was filled with fun, laughter, and a great dance crowd. It was the perfect combination of the candid, journalistic imagery, combined with some great portraiture. I’m so glad I was able to be part of the day.
