Funny story, many years ago I worked at a Burger King in Cleveland, long before I was an author just a guy punching a clock. It was a late close and the older woman who was closing with me offered me a ride home. So, she's driving and I'm just looking out the window and I noticed the car was getting closer to the curb. I turn to look at her and on everything she was straight up sleep. I screamed her name, and she woke up saying she was sorry she's kinda narcoleptic. I kindly ask her to pull over and let me out of the car. I walked the 25 minutes just to get home and about a month after that her daughter made her stop driving after she hit a tree. That scene with Black Noir had me laughing my ass off.
25:21 in Season 1 Homelander says zinc is the only thing he can't see through. It just so happens, in real life, that air ducts are coated in zinc to help them be rust resistant.
It was actually scary to see Homelander instantly laser that pipe. Also his growl of rage when he got outside and Hughie wasn’t there…. reasons I love Antony Starr😊
The scene between Butcher and Ryan was one of my favorite moments of the show. A very real, emotional, and vulnerable moment between the two. I wish the show had more moments like this. Great job by both actors, especially by Cameron Crovetti.
@Coggers-ww1zz The fact Butcher decided against it adds to the power of this scene. Ryan brings out Butchers humanity, without these moments Butcher is no better than Homelander. It's what will make Ryan see Homelander for what he is. Tbh I don't really understand what point your comment was supposed to make.
@@deano2506 he made the cookies and offered the cookie as soon as he arrived. The intent was present, if Ryan took one and ate straight away, the situation would be different. Ryan revealed he doesn't hate Butcher for his past actions and changed his mind.....that's the point.
I think when Homelander said, "I've given you everything I've wanted" to Ryan, he means the childhood Homelander wanted. Love, support, connection. Homelander thinks that is what hes giving Ryan too, but obviously to Ryan, it's just not it. Awesome reaction you guys!
Exactly. The truth is that Homelander doesn't really care about what Ryan wants; he sees Ryan as an extension of himself, and therefore assumes that Ryan should want the things that he wants and gets frustrated (to put it _very_ mildly) when Ryan isn't satisfied.
*Nikki* mentioned that the young actor who plays Ryan is doing a great job. I agree. This kid is a great little actor. His name is Cameron Crovetti. He was in this pschological drama movie I saw on Netflix called "Goodnight Mommy"(2022 version) with his real life twin brother and first thing I said out loud was, "What's Homelander's son doing here?"..lol. In all seriousness though, he blew me away with his acting in that. He had the lead role as Elias, a very messed up, traumatized kid and the viewer finds out why in the twist ending at the end. If you think he's good in The Boys, he's absolutely riveting in Goodnight Mommy. And he was also very good in the cool and crazy action movie "Boy Kills World" as the younger version of the main title character. That role required him to be much more athletic for the physical demands of the role, besides the emotional scenes he did so well. He really killed it. After seeing him in those movies and in The Boys, I gained a new respect for the kid. He's going places, for sure.
Homelander/Starr is the moneymaker and if the show was open-ended 'they' could never kill him. Now that they have an end to aim at they can go that way as strongly as they want. My own bet is that the end will not be death for Homelander. It will be life without superpowers.
I actually went to highschool with a kid that had an ice skate take all his fingers off. He knelt down to help his sister tie her laces and posted his hand down on the ice for a second and someone swooped by and took all 4 off. He never even saw who it was. He just grabbed his fingers and ran to get help.
Well Starlight sabotaged Firecrackers pageant career, the same pageant circuit that won Starlight her original fame and lead to her eventually getting on the seven. It’s not far fetched she’s angry with losing that possible chance of success.
get to episode 4 to get your answer about sage's personality switch! tbh, this season so far has a heavy theme of forcing the characters to deal w/their pasts.
I think the Huey stuff feels unreal because it’s such a real life thing, no super stuff, just a sick dad and an absent mom. We’re so used to everything happening in the show being linked to super issues, and this is an issue that could be in any show. Of course we all can imagine with this show that since she’s connected with Vaught, and disappeared for years, that it could be a Vaught plot as always. Also, I feel like if Homelander threw something in anger that it would have gone through the wall, not just broke the mirror. 😂
If there is one thing I feel homelander on; it’s being furious with my blood son who I’m currently raising, and is sneaking around to see my greatest enemy that has been actively trying to kill me….
If you guys are interested in Atony Starr's other roles, I highly recommend you guys react to Banshee. He is the lead character in that insane show, right up your alley.
What sage meant by Luke Skywalker is the chosen one "nerritive" in story telling that's when someone is meant to do great things not that they are literally "the chosen one"
25:20 Learned this from another commenter. Duct-work like that has a zinc coating to prevent corrosion, and zinc is the one thing Homie can't see through (like Superman with lead).

Anyone else get the feeling that Joe Kessler is another hallucination like Beca? Like Beca is the good in Billy Butcher and Joe is the dark side and f Billy. Has Joe Kessler ever interacted with anyone else in the show? The things he gets for Butcher could’ve been obtained by Billy and he doesn’t remember getting it due to a black out or something.
I gotta say, Reggie's coming in hot this season on the redemption train. I've decided A-Train is a dickhead, but REGGIE is on his way to season 4 MVP, thanks in large part to MM being a BOSS and giving him a chance to do the right thing. Also, I love Hughie getting some honest answers, and some closure too, from his mom. Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and i would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it i recommend the original language with subtitles, te acting was amazing.
The air vents are made of Zinc which Homelander can’t see through as revealed in S1, and the loud singing was messing with his ability to hear where Hughie was.
It still doesn’t make any sense. Homelander has super speed. He could’ve just flown over to Hughie. Also, there’s no chance Hughie had enough time to silently escape the vents before Homelander flew up there to look for him. Still a cool scene. But we’re allowed to be honest.
Every time I see the Homelander mirror scenes I wonder if he does have D.I.D ( Dissociative identity disorder ). D.I.D is caused by periods of trauma which he did experience as a child ( as we've seen )and this raging, narcissistic person is his other personality which was created to protect him from the trauma and the real John ( Homelander ) is deep in his subconscious and that's the person that wanted a family, love and approval.
Unlikely, considering he himself never seems to 'switch' personalities. The mirror is most likely just a way to visually portray the self-criticism and insecurity he deals with. Also worth mentioning (because people always bring it up as though its fact) DID is a highly debated condition in the first place. The case that popularised the condition, and more or less defined it to both psychiatrists and the general public, was that of Shirley Ardell Mason, who was almost certainly manipulated by her psychiatrist into faking symptoms. Mason never displayed any symptoms prior to meeting the psychiatrist, and her 'blackouts' that were attributed to DID were most likely caused by anemia. Popularity of DID, both then and now via social media, also just so happens to coincide with a higher percentage of people displaying those symptoms, which, if real, it logically shouldn't.
I’ve watched Banshee years ago and I still don’t know what the hell was going on with the actors speaking foreign languages…. In every foreign language scene it seemed like a made up language or they just spoke different languages to each other and pretended that it was the same language and that distracted me a lot. 💀

@@realitymaster2896 I just went back and watched those scenes again just to be sure. The lawyer never actually spoke to anyone but Hughie. He didn't even look at anyone else. As far as the V, we never saw her take it. It's just assumed she took it. It could have easily been Hughie himself and he just thinks it was her Tyler Durden style.
@@donaldseale2700 Yeah, I must've misremembered the scene. Anyway, Hughie does not suffer from the repercussions of V24. He was on the brink of becoming like Butcher in the final episode of season 3, but did not use that vial. Either way, Butcher's halluciations are not even the effects of V24. These are effects of shooting up permanent V, which did not give him powers, but made the tumor in his brain sentient. Becca and Kessler are products of his mind,. Hughie's mom is just a shitty plot point to prepare us for what comes in episode 5, not another hallucination. Just watch the show.

The pipes are zinc. Homelander can't see through zinc (like Superman can't see through lead). It's actually an elegant call back to the first season, and I'm glad they didn't dumb it down by doing exposition.

@@donaldseale2700 She also nteracted with a lawyer and the V vial from Hughie's pocket.
US Hockey player Adam Johnson unfortunately did pass away in the freak accident that happened while they were playing in the UK.
Be careful who you step on during your ascent because you will meet them again on your way down
That’s another good way of putting that
@@NikkiStevenReact yes, more people should take heed. Great commentary as always ♥️
until you asked "is that a trex and a bear?" I never noticed it and I'm wondering how many other things I've seen and didn't pick up on. Having other peoples observations helps a lot (Im an introvert so I dont get exposed to others opinions that much)..anyway, appreciate it.
thats zinc thats why he cant see
OH MY GOD!! Literally. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 25:56
i'd say literally would be: jesus christ! 😆
I can't believe we are introducing Hughie's mom for the first time 😳.
I feel like she is a vought spy. Yes I know she works for vought but I feel like her role is bigger than what is let on
She's sus and works for Vot...... And started speaking to his dad a few years ago ..... Something is off to me 😂
The pipes are zinc. Homelander can't see through zinc (like Superman can't see through lead). It's actually an elegant call back to the first season, and I'm glad they didn't dumb it down by doing exposition.
25:15 Homelander can’t see through Zinc. Most HVAC ductwork is made from steel coated with zinc , also known as galvanized steel.
Yea I thought Homelanders lasers were cauterizing too.
Do you guys react to dub anime? And if yes please react to AOT. Thanks
The Deep's name must have been a piss take on Vought's part, as he's the shallowest person on the planet.
Nikki: "wear goggles!" is going to stay with me. Thanks! 😅
I have a theory about Kessler but I’m not gonna spoil it…
The deep astounds me every season just how does he get laid 😭 🙏🏾
Guys React The Vampire Diaries please
Please react to Bridgerton as well. Love u guys❤
Will you guys react to the sopranos one day?
Anthony Starr (Homelander) is actually supposedly the sweetest and nicest guy in person. every video i’ve seen of him he’s always joyous and signing stuff for people
6:09 Cue Dee Snider issuing a "cease-and-desist" like with MAGA and "We're Not Gonna Take It".
8:19 Pizzagate, anyone? The difference is that the actual guy had an AR-15 and fired off three rounds.
16:14 People can accuse The Boys of a lot of things, but a lack of creativity is not one of them. And the tune here is "La Nuit Le Jour" by Les Terribles, a French cover of The Kinks song.
23:30 This literally looks like a Daily Wire Production promoted by Fox News.
I just love how this show ALWAYS finds a new way to surprise us with some crazy stuff in nearly every episode!! 👌😊
That is actually impressive and I am a curious what will be this seasons most insane moment.
Your reactions are even more entertaining because of those things and I really like them. 😁👍
It just happened and killed the person and they’re going to trial I believe!!
“I wanna get deep” lol silly ass Nikki 🤣🤣
On a side note though if u love Antony starr y’all have to watch banshee. It’s right up yall alley I promise. He’s great in that too.
Merry Christmas Nikki. Christ is King.
No he isn’t. No preaching here
Rumors say that Sage is lobotomizing herself so she can relax in her downtime. one of her gifts is moderate regeneration
I think those ducts Hughie was crawling in might have had zinc in them. If memory serves, Homelander can't see through zinc. Just like lead for Superman.
What if that character Joe Kessler is another hallucination that Butcher is seeing? Cause i am just realising that Butcher onyl talak to him when no one else is around.
You guys should react to the show banshee Anthony star is the lead of the show it's the first thing I've ever seen him in it's a great show you guys would love it
Can’t wait for you guys to watch episode 4 😂
Can't wait for the Next episode😅no spoilers love from Portugal and thumbs up already
Do you mean JDM's a hallucination of Butcher?
The question between Sage and the Deep will be answered. 😂
Brother do one worst movie again plzzz.😊
What is the worst movie that you're asking 🤔?
@@joshuacampbell7493 like birdemic 2,3,etc
We’ll watch another bad movie one day for sure
