I genuinely refuse to believe the unemployment rate is this low just like the crime numbers that were just audited. AI is significantly impacting tech and other industries. 4 of my smartest friends were all laid off and haven't been able to find a job for a year now.

Considering that unemployment is going up but inflation is being sticky could this be because the housing prices are not budging so that's why we're kind of stuck in this perpetual inflation unemployment limbo and since the housing prices don't seem to be coming down the only solution is for unemployment to go up to balance the scales?

These is no fixed target. They said 2% target over time. Just think of what that means. Think of what it means to hitting a 2% fixed target but have no actual firm mechanism to pin it there. They are just guessing the neutral interest rate so how the fook they gonna pin down 2%. (
