In Hindu Cosmology, Kamadeva, the god of love and desire, once tested the resolve of Lord Shiva, who was deeply meditating after the loss of his wife, Sati. Kamadeva, upon Indra's request, aimed to awaken Shiva's passion and draw him back into the world. With his bow made of sugarcane and arrows adorned with flowers, Kamadeva shot Shiva, stirring desire within him. However, Shiva, recognizing Kamadeva's interference, opened his third eye, unleashing a fierce flame that reduced Kamadeva to ashes. This event is often celebrated as the origin of Holi, the Hindu festival of colors and love. Later, Shiva revived Kamadeva, but only as a formless, invisible spirit, emphasizing the triumph of spiritual over carnal desires. This ancient tale underscores the eternal struggle between worldly attachments and spiritual pursuits in Hindu philosophy.

Another thing about Lord Shiva..
Even Kamadevata (manmadha ) can't give lust to shiva ..how can Mohini attracts him .& Give birth to Lord Ayyapa..this story of Shiva getting lust on Mohini is fake...
It is not happend during Amruta madhan or Bhasmasur era..
It happened with Shiva Mohini Avatar of Lord vishnu & Ma Parvathi combined

Because Kaamdeva doesn’t have a body he is called ananga, the one without anga (body parts)
