  • @proxx1988
    @proxx1988 3 года назад +2

    Pro tip. Instead of newspaper, use aluminum foil. Also, if you put it over the drain pan, you won't spill a single drip of oil over the wheel or ground.

    @Bloeski's Wrecking Crew thank you for the video, clear and concrete ! I do have one question, just got a scoot (10-09-2017) and I don't know when previous owner change the oil all i know they did not ride it for 7 months and belt was changed 8000km ago. So far i am driving it for 100 km and it is tempting to change oil since i already got all filters, but my season ends in less than a month and it starts in April. Shoud i change it anyway and could i use it still for next season ?

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  6 лет назад

      I always change the oil at the end of the riding season. Then in spring it is ready to go. Also the engine is not left sitting for an extended period of time with dirty oil in it.....Thanks for watching.

    • @bloeski

    Thanks for the good video. I no longer have a Kymco deal in my area. I have a kymco xtown 300i, you happen to know if the steps/locations are similar? Is there a place to order the filters ? I called a few jobs in my area and they just said they couldn't order anything from Kymco without being an authorized dealership :(

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  6 лет назад

      I am not sure if the bike you have uses the same engine or not. For the filter try looking on Amazon or at bike shops on the internet. You should be able to send for the filter from many places......Thanks for watching.

  • @pmay222

    nice one...i always change my scooter engine oil every 1500 miles...it only holds 1200cc and soon gets contaminated... also you can hear the engine run quieter with new oil... simplest of jobs i dont understand why more riders cannot do this themselves it saves a fortune $$ in mechanic labour costs

      @bloeski  8 лет назад

      The manual says 12000KM. But I change every year even though I usually only put on around 3000KM. Since I will change well before the recommended change I used regular oil rather than synthetic......Thanks for watching.

    Than you so very much for this video. But I had a lot of problems with inserting transmission oil. That hole is super small and it all dripped and oozed out so in the end I probably didn't put the exact amount of oil (0,21 liter). But your tutorial was top notch..

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  7 лет назад

      I had to keep the lid off of another oil jug just for this purpose......thanks for watching.

    • @vegass04
      @vegass04 7 лет назад

      Hmmmm. I'm not sure I understood what you mean by "keeping a lid of off another jug just for this purpose ". Looking at your video I got an impression you did it just fine, you didn't have any drips. I got to give Kymco a big minus for the placement of that hole. If only they've put it on top so you can normally insert oil. Next time I'll try with a huge syringe, maybe that will work. Cheers.

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  7 лет назад

      The lid on the oil jug I used to fill the gear case had a pointy tip that just fit in the hole of the gear case. That lid came from another oil jug, not the one shown there. If you have a lid with a tip like that you will not spill a drop either as it fits the hole tightly. Hope this helps...

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  6 лет назад

      Many scooters use separate oil for the transmission as the transmission has gears that require a more viscous oil that the engine uses....Thanks for watching.

    • @bloeski

      TRANSMISSION OIL CAPACITY: 0.23 L
      TRANSMISSION OIL EXCHANGING CAPACITY: 0.21 L
      Take your pick of which number you prefer.....If it is totally drained then I would put in 0.23 L..On the other hand maybe it can not be totally drained and some oil is retained in which case 0.21 L would be correct....Thanks for watching.

      +Nicolás Horacio Herrada I did a review of this bike in another video. It is a great bike, but better suited for shorter riders. I am tall and don't fit well in the seat. My knees are bent too far and I am wedged into the seat. I also have a Kymco People S 200 which has the same engine as your Like. The seating is much better for tall riders. Based on this I would go for the 300GTI as I would expect more seating space......Thanks for watching.

    I'm wondering why you are using motorcycle oil in the scoot. As I understand it motorcycle oil is a special formulation that has lubricants in it for the wet clutch plates in the trans. Scooters don't have those. Any good automotive engine oil will work well in a scoot engine and be less expensive.

    • @bloeski
      @bloeski  5 лет назад +1

      This is a water cooled engine so it would probably be okay with regular engine oil. But I have 2 other bikes and buy a large jug of oil that will do all three. The other 2 bikes are air cooled so regular engine oil would not be the best for them.......Thanks for watching.
