  • Pretty basic install of the HP carb. Video shows how the engine cover needs to be trimmed for the manifold to fit and the carb linkage to clear. The WT-167 was the OG HP carb when the G23LH engine was introduced to the goped world. Since then better carbs(larger venturi) have landed on the market like the WT-668. There is a top speed run of this carb in another video on my page. heres a link • Mini Bike top speed ru...

    Years ago there used to be a few companies that sold a 90° or "twisted" hp manifold for the lh that was longer and offset the carb sideways so you didn't have to trim the stock shroud and it made routing the throttle cable a bit easier.

    Any porting to the g23lh ? I had an XPed with the g23lh that I had ported lowered the intake raised the exhaust , port matched intake manifold to intake port and gasket matched transfer ports on head and cases. With the 167 walbro with velocity stack no filter and open exhaust on a .950 spindle @ 170 pounds I clocked on GPS @ 33.7 mph 93 octane pump gas. These motors love porting ! While cases are better ported apart for work you can upgrade to g230rc piston lighter than g23lh piston and upgrade to g230rc coil and flywheel which advances timing , which really makes a difference when the power band kicks , as oppose to advancing motor with a rocket key which makes these motors run really hot even if you try to run it GAS (100+ octane ) not recommended in my opinion.

    • @aaronpratt89
      @aaronpratt89  2 года назад +1

      I’ve built lots of LH engines in the past. Yea I can agree the port timing is more setup as a utility engine(which is the engines original purpose) aiming for more torque then horsepower. I don’t like to use the rc style top ends on LH cases for the reason of the transfers not matching up. They do run great with them. However an LH to me is the good ol 23cc restrictive crooked spark plug cylinder. I plan to port this engine in the near future. Working on getting my new shop setup and together.

      This carb works great. The 668 is the way to go tho, much more tunable friendly. The 167 requires a lot of tweaking.

    On all carbs do you Hook up your gas lines yellow to top and blue to low, does it matter

    • @aaronpratt89
      @aaronpratt89  3 года назад +2

      It honestly depends on how the lines are routed. From the factory Goped’s are set up for the blue to be the supply and the yellow to be the return. The best way to be accurate is to look in the tank and see which line is hooked up to the filter. The filter will be the supply to the carb.
