Well, she's smashing these segments written by other writers, but would she be well-read enough to tackle an interview with an intellectual, like Jon and Trevor did regularly? I don't think so. Leslie is just a screamer, popular with the unwashed masses. She's no interviewer.

Leslie is so on point. She’s nailing it all the way. I couldn’t see it coming.
Some of these were hand fed lines (obviously on her first day by the writers) but you can tell the delivery was just top tier because Leslie is a seasoned comedian. Leslie knows how to keep it real!

She's way too crude (more than Samantha Bee) to be the long-term host for this show.
I like her but the 'bird p***y' thing...I don't know about that for this show. it's supposed to be a news show-yes, an entertaining one but this is too much for the Daily Show.

Jon Stewart and Trevor Noah knew perfectly well how to keep the right balance of smart comedy and critical thought without having to only resort to crass for the entire sequence just to get a laugh or get their point across. That's what made the Daily Show so special compared to a lot of other shows.

Ok, I've never seen much of Leslie's work before, but I have LOVED these two episodes with her.
saw her standup a couple years back. by the time the show was over my ribs were hurting.
Seriously, I LOVED Trevor as a stand up and he delivered the news well and his between the scenes were great *but* man, Leslie did the impossible and also made the skits funny! Getting an SNL alum in there was very smart!

Leslie is absolutely killing it. I haven’t laughed this hard in awhile. I think they should just continue rotating guest hosts but for longer stints. That way you get a fresh perspective every few months. And have people back, like Leslie. I don’t know why the correspondents aren’t getting a shot at hosting either. This is a prime example of being going where you can shine appropriately. On SNL I don't recall her doing much. On movies and prjects the same. But alone she is amazing, witty, real, high energy.I have definitely loled liitterally out loud. She should stay.
You should go back and watch her guest appearances on weekend update on SNL. They let her do pretty much this on weekend update except she had great banter with Colin Jost.
She did a lot on SNL, small parts because she seemed to have an issue with timing but at the Update desk, she was amazing. I’m hoping Colin Jost comes on while she’s hosting.

She did the same thing on SNL as she does here: Break character, mess up jokes, and the jokes she does make are just low-brow p-word jokes. I am not above the last part but come on, at a certain point it stops being funny to me.

I love her and her energy 😂 her bit in chicken face was hilarious!!! I laughed out loud through most of these 11+ minutes. Loved the others who preceded her to bits, including Trevor and Stuart, but they weren’t always funny. I thought Colbert was funnier than Stuart, although Colbert’s not funny now on night TV. I like that propriety goes out the window with Leslie, which is why she shines; oh and I loved the toxic relationship skit with Kosta!! Golden.

Honestly if you asked me who I wanted to take over The Daily Show, Leslie Jones wouldn't have even made the list. As someone who enjoys Trevor's standup and behind the scenes, but not really most of his actual Daily Show stuff, Leslie being fulltime host would bring me back with that energy!
