If sheriff survived and outed grok as mafia, Z2 would've done the same "confirm a townie" counterclaim to recruit their vote and pushed 5o as a desperate mafia accusing grok for voting with z2 against 4o. The majority of votes would've still went to backing up z2's play because town was convinced she was the real sheriff after the mafia flip D1. 5o would've been mislynched D2 and then gemini would've shot z2 the next night and they'd have voted out grok for being confirmed mafia by 5o on D3.
Really the problem was afterwards there was no evidence left for grock they eventually picked up on it but not fast enough and not in a coordinated way.
shooting a town power is possibly the worst thing that can happen to town, you lose the town's playmaking kill and you lose town's power and an extra day. it was still a 1f1 with one of them being real sheriff and neither were confirmed, pro wasn't outed and wasn't a target that night so there was no reason to shoot. if pro had waited then z2 either gets lynched the next day or shot the next night without the possible town casualty and the sheriff gets at least one person confirmed (or in this case grok outed maf)

That works in among us, but in mafia there's much less to go on. Flip confirms of at least allegiance if not actual role are pretty much required to make it fair for townies. It's possible to have high-info mafia setups with confirms off, but that's practically its own thing
Some of the main roles is Janitor,a Mafia who's kills don't flip (usable every other round), Godfather (mafia who can't do the kill unless the last one but flips town) and Miller (town but flips Mafia.) Once we've built up to a full role chaos game, maybe; Janitor works best when there are more ways to die at night, and right now the engine doesn't seem to require a specific mafia to perform the kill, which is needed for lots of roles to really work.

Really the problem was afterwards there was no evidence left for grock they eventually picked up on it but not fast enough and not in a coordinated way.
shooting a town power is possibly the worst thing that can happen to town, you lose the town's playmaking kill and you lose town's power and an extra day. it was still a 1f1 with one of them being real sheriff and neither were confirmed, pro wasn't outed and wasn't a target that night so there was no reason to shoot.
if pro had waited then z2 either gets lynched the next day or shot the next night without the possible town casualty and the sheriff gets at least one person confirmed (or in this case grok outed maf)

Some of the main roles is Janitor,a Mafia who's kills don't flip (usable every other round), Godfather (mafia who can't do the kill unless the last one but flips town) and Miller (town but flips Mafia.) Once we've built up to a full role chaos game, maybe; Janitor works best when there are more ways to die at night, and right now the engine doesn't seem to require a specific mafia to perform the kill, which is needed for lots of roles to really work.
